Seriously just go to any anime site and pick from the recent/popular categories... You won't have any problems.
However if you want something direct, then....

Mirai nikkei is something you might enjoy if you liked Death Note
Attack on Titan/High School of the dead as well

Beyond the boundary
Guilty Crown
Fair amount of action/mystery/romance

Zetsuen no Tempest
Golden Time
.... Both of these are on the drama side of things.

Kill la Kill.... Contains action and comedy

Sword Art Online.... Overall pretty great

Neon Genesis Evangelion.... A classic mindf*ck...(there are 3 movies which are a reboot, which I recommend)

If you like anime, just go and start watching... If it doesn't interest you by the 2nd-3rd episode, drop it and move on :)

Dragon Ball is a classic. It's pretty much the foundation of all fighting anime. Start with Part 1 (the title is straight up Dragonball). The anime is addicting I've rewatched all of dragonball (Part 1, Z, etc.) over and over. Very very good anime.

The anime I'm currently watching is One Piece. (A lot of the same writers and producers from dragonball help make One Piece) so this anime is quite amazing, with a lot more more mature humor as it progress and much badassery.

Full Metal Alchemist.
Most will tell you to start with brotherhood because the first one sucks but a lot of character development is left out in brotherhood. But these are my Top 3 favs.

Phew, okay. Here we go:
(* highly recommend)

  • Steins;Gate* - A group of young friends delves into time travel and begins experimenting to perfect the system they've managed to create. Things seem to be going well, until things go too far and they are forced to travel back and undo everything up to that point. (personal favorite)
  • Cowboy Bebop* - A group of bounty hunters travels the solar system, trying to earn a living while simultaneously confronting their pasts. (widely considered the best anime of all time)
  • Eden of the East* - A young woman encounters a strange man one day, who seems to have lost his memory and later discovers that he's one of twelve individuals tasked with using 10 billion yen to save Japan, and that those who fail to accomplish this will be killed.
  • Clannad*/Toradora! - Both are high school romances, but also two of the best in existence. Both are dramatic and hilarious, and the former is arguably the most tearjerking anime out there.
  • Mushishi - In addition to flora and fauna, the world is also inhabited by mushi, strange creatures with supernatural abilities that are invisible to most people. The episodic series follows a mysterious man who works as a mushishi, a doctor of sorts who deals in issues involving these equally mysterious beings.
  • Samurai Champloo* - two rogue samurai, previously attempting to kill each other, reluctantly agree to postpone their duel and help a young girl find "a samurai who smells of sunflowers".
  • Monster - A renown surgeon is tasked with saving the mayor, but after a similar experience that left a grieving woman without her husband, he decides to go along with the surgery of a young boy who came in moments before. The mayor dies and the boy lives, but the doctor's career is completely ruined. Once everyone who did this to him dies, though, things start falling back on the right path, until nine years later, when the boy he saved reemerges...as a serial killer.
  • The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya* - A normal highschooler is dragged (literally) into a series of bizarre events involving an alien, a time-traveler, an esper, and an eccentric girl who is unaware that she has god-like powers.
  • Baccano!*/Durarara!!* - Both center around groups of bizarre characters whose situations somehow intertwine.
  • Hellsing Ultimate* - A secret organization is tasked by the English government with hunting down vampires, and their greatest warrior just so happens to be the most powerful vampire in existence.
  • Angel Beats! - A amnesiac young man wakes up in the middle of a high school and is quickly told that he is dead. Now he must team up with a group of rebellious peers who aim to get back at God for their unfair lives.
  • Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood* - Two brothers try to revive their mother with the science of alchemy, but end up being scarred for life. Now they are doing whatever they can to restore their bodies, and soon become mixed up in a giant government conspiracy.
  • Wolf's Rain - Wolves have been extinct for 200 years - or so people think. In truth, they have merely hiding among them in human form, and now a pack of four unlikely companions has set off into the wilderness in search of the "Paradise".
  • Sword Art Online - 10,000 people have logged in to play a virtual reality MMO, but soon find themselves unable to log back out. And what's worse, they've been informed that the lives of their avatars are now connected to their real lives, and if one dies, so does the other. The only way out is to beat all 100 levels, and a black-clad solo player is determined to make that happen.
  • Highschool of the Dead - An unknown virus has fallen over the world, causing the dead to return to life. Students at a Japanese high school must now do whatever they can to survive and find their families.
  • Darker Than Black - After the appearance of a strange area that wraps around Tokyo, strange beings called Contractors begin appearing across the world. They are essentially rational and emotionless humans with unique powers, but if they wish to use them, they must perform a specific task after each use. The story follows a mysterious contractor and his team as they carry out missions given by the mysterious Syndicate, while simultaneously figuring out just what happened ten years ago when all of this began happening.
  • Trigun - A wacky, red-clad gunsmith treads across the planet Gunsmoke, encountering and helping various people along the way. The only problem is that he himself is a wanted man, if the $$60 billion bounty on his head isn't proof enough of that.
  • Psycho-Pass - Japanese society is now safer than ever, at least for those free of criminal intent. Those whose "Crime Coefficient" goes too high, though, have only two choices to make: rot away in a cell cut off from society, or join the Enforcers, a group of "latent criminals" tasked with helping the police take down others of their kind.
  • Madoka Magica - A much darker take on magical girls, which is sure to change your views on the genre forever.
  • Btooom! - People are disappearing and reappearing on a strange island, each carrying a bag filled with unique bombs, and their abduction seems to the work of the company behind a very popular game. Among those abducted is one of the game's Top 10 players.
There. Now knock yourself out:) lol
