Which one of these three geniuses are smarter? A better character overall? Which one do you like the most, and why? :)

Idk of liar game guy but light> lelouch because cc had to save lelouch like three times and he was saved by two other guys (who names I forget, the stop time guy and his friend). Lelouch brother really won twice, first was saved by the time travel guy, second during the war the nuclear bomb was stopped due to plot.

Good argument. It can be said that Light did get SOME help from Ryuk (writing the fake rules to confuse Near), but you're right.

I'm up to date on the Liar Game and IMO Akiyama beats them both. Although their strengths stem in different categories a slight bit... Akiyama probably couldn't be a war commander or anything.

I love Akiyama's plans more than either of the other two so maybe that has to do with it :/ The thing with Akiyama is that he does good with harsh stipulations (since they have to live by the game's rules) while Light and Lelouch overall have larger boundaries to play with. Certain situations may be different though.

Light has the best development, though I like Akiyama more. Lelouch is the middle card for me here~
Light for developing from a man with "morals" obviously being corrupted by the Death Note.
Akiyama because he fights for good, and can afford to do it without sacrificing much because he's just that skillful.
Lelouch can fluctuate between sides of the coin, and is the most subject to a change of heart.

You're absolutely right. I'm up to date also (still on hiatus, right?) and I can say Light and Lelouch, thinking-wise, have it easier than Akiyama. Even though Akiyama's "bad" situation aren't life-threatening like avoiding a FLEIJA or something, they have the most restrictions placed on them.

Yeah but it's supposed to be returning soon. You know One Outs? It's a baseball manga made by the same guy who uses Akiyama tier logic to win against the professionals. Well he just finished it not long ago, so now he can pay more attention to the series I guess.

Really Akiyama looks wiser because he uses logic (mathematics, charts, and what not) along with psychological aspects to get the upper hand since the game puts people in this situation, while the other 2 really much more on the latter because it's more effective. So they are playing in different ball-parks in a way, which makes it more fun I guess to see some diversity :p

Awesome, I've been waiting for it to come back! And you're right, it's tough to pit them head-to-head, since as you said Akiyama's all about logic, whereas Lelouch is more of a military strategist, etc.

Akiyama in my opinion, I loved the liars game. Light was kind of a douche at times, he would also get really lucky.

Haven't read Liar Game, though it does look interesting (why did they make it a drama and not an anime?). Reading over Akiyama, though, I doubt he holds a finger to the other two.

Light and Lelouch are pretty even in intellect, though I personally think Light is just a touch smarter. As characters, though, Light is definitely superior. His development is some of the best in anime, he's a thrill to watch in any situation (Lelouch isn't quite there), and unlike Lelouch, his actions are almost completely unjustified, yet there are still people who love him and wanted him to win (I was one of them for a long time;)).

Well I don't think Akiyama was intended to be conquering the world or anything special like that. I didn't judge each of their actions in depth to see whether or not they're smarter or anything like that... just basic knowledge. They all kinda have "off panel" feats, what with Light and Lelouch conquering the world. To be fair though, Akiyama scammed a huge company into bankruptcy, taking the "largest sum of money in Japanese history", with no superpowers or anything like that. Before the Geass or Death Note, neither Lelouch nor Light had a real impact on the world around them. Mind you their goals were much much greater than Akiyama's afterwards but it's something to consider.

To be honest Akiyama's not that original once you've read some other gambling manga. He's got a bit going for him but he doesn't have the character development of Light or Lelouch objectively speaking (still like him though). I agree that Light beats Lelouch in development -- Lelouch still beats out both of them in other categories though. Both DN and CG had great endings for different reasons.

Liar Game focuses the most on ''battle of wits'' aspect and Akiyama has shown the most feats of intelligence. I'd say he's the smartest, though he lacks as a character.

Character wise, Light definitely takes this.
