Anyone been to Paris?

I assume people here have been to Paris before? If you have, what's it like? Can you give me sort of a brief rundown of your experience? The reason I ask is because I'm going to Paris in a few weeks with my school for Spring break xd
Or, if you've been to Barcelona, what's that like?

I went with some of my friends during summer, it was a cool experience. When you're there, the people can tell right off the bat that you're tourists.

I've been there, it's a good place depends on where you are going.. but you should watch your wallet and stuff cause as above me says, they know you are a tourist.. and they all think you are their friend aslong as you buy something from them off the street.. other then that nice stores, restaurants etc..etc.

I'll try to remember that. I know the places I'm going are the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Palace of Versailles, and some other places. I'm greatly looking forward to this xD

Well to be honest its not clean.

you have to drink water from a bottle. their hose water is kinda grose. its very dirty someplaces (in the big grassfield near eiffeltower for exampel) its papers, bottles and such everywere. but maybe thats changed i was there two years ago.

have you seen the movie Taken?? haha you should watch out for stuff like that too.

and like a guy above said: watch your wallet

Paris is interesting to explore walking, you will do a lot of walking, but you will most likely see all the tourist attractions which is the only thing they show about Paris to the world. It obviously isn't all pretty and glamour, like all cities there are districts that you simply dont see on TV or Pics. But but like all tourist you will be on the sections of the city that represent the good things about Paris.
1. Nice architecture
2. Amazing Museums
3. One of the best fine dining out in the open
4. Beautiful Parks
5. Many Chatteus
6. Walking is a Pleasure
I could go on and on, I was in Paris yesterday for some French Cuisine. I usually do it once a month.

I went to both. Both are interesting and you have what to do in each. But i can surely say Paris is not "living to the hype". It's history there. So, if you're not willing to go sightseeing or walk kilometres per day, then you go there for nothing.

Barcelona is also a beautiful city. I preffer it to Paris. I think i was dissapointed in Paris because i was having high expectations..But both are beautiful and worth visiting.

The whole walking for kilometers part sounds meh, but I think I'll enjoy the sightseeing. I love history and culture, and Paris of course has both

Paris is great, there's loads to explore and I could go on forever about how much there is to see and do!

Beware of the Metro though, whilst cheap and generally good, it can be notoriously bad on keeping schedule so you're going to use it, it might be best to use the RER (You can use metro tickets on there, as long as it's within the city). Or you could use the vélib, which is bike hire for an extremely cheap price per day, around one euro.

Oh, and if you fancy lighting your wick, you could pay a visit to Pigalle. XD

In my experience, Paris is the most beautiful city in the world - it felt like i was in a live painting
