I have always wondered why the Sage would leave the Tablet to the Uchihas despite the Curse of Hatred and not choosing their ancestor as his successor, didn't the Sage anticipate that one of the Uchihas will try to use the knowledge in the Tablet for wrong reasons like unsealing the Juubi and placing the world in eternal genjutsu, was the Sage really that short-sighted? And why exactly is the Tablet necessary to perform RDS unseal with the Shinigami Mask.
I had to watch Mulan with my young cousin to realize what the Uchiha Tablet actually is
It's a Spirit Tablet, it houses the spirits of your ancestors, and who is the ancestor in this case? Kaguya/Reaper (that's why RDS Unseal = Mask + Tablet )
Unbeknownst to many, the Shinigami of the Reaper Death Seal is a woman:
The Reaper is a Hannya Demoness who are all females and solely females.
The Shinigami is also a priestess holding a prayer beads and reciting a prayer before commencing the sealing ritual:
The Reaper's initial stance with it arms spread is a clerical/priestly stance:
Like Rikūdou/Hagoromo's stance:
It was established and well known by now that the Shiki Fūjin required Rikūdo/Hagoromo's Tablet as the catalyst for the Shinigami Mask to unseal the Reaper:
It is because the Shiki Fūjin is Rikūdo/Hagoromo's Jutsu
and the Reaper is most probably Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, Rikūdo/Hagoromo's mother:
As to why Kaguya became the Shinigami of the Shiki Fūjin, Kishimoto has not yet explained or revealed why, either as an end effect of eating the Shinju's fruit or as a mother's sacrifice to aid her son in fighting the Jūbi.
But there lies the anomaly: Why would the Sage write the info. on his mom, the Shinjū, Jūbi, Rinnegan, etc. on a tablet that's supposed to venerate Kaguya? (because the Spirit Tablets are used to venerate the spirit)
It is because Hagoromo's act of veneration is actually saving his mother from the Death God curse, the Sage wanted the Jūbi to be revived one day so that humanity can befriend it and free Kaguya from the curse, but for humanity to befriend Jūbi, they have to mend their ways first so he sealed the Gedo Mazo in the Moon, split the chakra into the Bijūs, etc to give time for humanity to get their act together when the Jūbi returns, Hagoromo anticipated that the curse of hatred would opt one of the Elder Son's descendants to try and revive Jūbi, Hagoromo wanted the Jūbi to return so it can release Kaguya from her curse, he expects the Shinobi world and Naruto to make peace with the Jūbi one day.
Also, Shinobis are using powers (Chakra) that they stole from Jūbi, if the Sage just allowed the Jūbi to be trapped forever, then it means man is continually sinning for using stolen powers, it would be an illusory peace then, and it's not even a totally illusory peace to begin with since man uses Chakra for war, the cycle of suffering and hatred will never end (Karma), the Sage wanted true peace between man and Jūbi, reunite man with the divine, angry as the Jūbi is and its revival posing a threat to the world by acting on that anger and destroying all, the Sage placed his hopes on the future generation and one who will guide the Bijūs and humanity in the righteous path, to quell the God's anger and establish eternal peace, that is Naruto.
So it wasn't a lack of foresight nor was it a lapse in Judgment in the Sage's part that he left the Tablet to the Uchihas who followed the way of hatred, he intended all of this to happen.
To end the curse of the cycle of hatred and suffering once and for all.
Plot-wise I think it was necessary for Madara to become Juubi's Jin to make the Shinju's Flower Bloom, that's the only purpose of why he became Juubi's Jin after Obito, the Shinju's Lotus Flower must bloom.
The Lotus is the flower of rebirth in Buddhism:
In Naruto it's the mirror opposite: The Shinju's lotus shall bloom under the moonlight ( a real lotus blooms at sunlight) The Demonic Statue sitting in a Lotus (Buddha sits on a Lotus)
That picture I showed you depicts being reborn inside a Lotus in the Pure Land, in Naruto it's the opposite, the material world is the Impure Land (hence the name of Edo Tensei: Summon Impure World resurrection) if the Juubi is going to be reborn, it's most probably thought the Flower. So probably even Madara himself will be surprised that the Flower contains more than the Eye, but the reborn/new One-Eyed God itself.
And if we think about it: Why introduce the Shinju backstory of how humanity stole the Tree's power if the author does not intend to make a resolution of this past transgression? moral didacticism entails the Shinju to assume a main role in seeking reparations for the sins of the past. If Madara is the end-all of the Manga then there would be no reason in introducing this plot point.
