Learning jutsu outside of the characters elemental affinity is possible. Hell, Hiruzen and Kakashi have learned jutsu from all of the elements. We all know this.
So let's go theoritcally here. If Naruto say, during his training trip with Jiraiya spent alot of his time at Mt. Miyobuku where there is loads of toads that know all different types of Jutsu. We know how much of a Jutsu spazz Naruto was when he was younger, so if he bugged the toads to teach him their jutsu how fast do you think Naruto would get the jutsu outside of his element done.
For instance the likes of Raiton: Gian or Katon: Karyu Endan.
