[Suggestion] [RP] Userbars.

I don't know if a thread regarding this has been made anytime, but I have a suggestion:

What if there were clan related userbars available below your avatar? That would be super cool. Like, for eg, I have an Uchiha bio, I
could choose an Uchiha userbar to show below my avatar. I know there are many clans, and designers could make
some userbars for cannon clans first and later make custom clans. From what I've heard, they're not too complex to make too.​

They used to have them but they were scrapped when they remodeled the forums a year or two ago. Many have asked for them back but I doubt they will ever resurface again. If enough people show interest they might bring them back but you have to look at it logically, how many people actually play the RP here compared to the other forum sections?

Hmmm...I see..that's a trick question. I've never really observed how many people RP here. O_O According to what I know, a fair amount of people do RP here. And new RP'ers are coming day, by day!

They used to have the userbar feature. It is evident when you go to User CP and change the settings to your profile. There are options for villages and other groups. However there was never an Uchiha option which would have been cool to see. As far as I know, it is still a relatively small group since registrations are closed. But like I said it depends on the demand and how it can benefit the entire forums and not just one group. I am sure there are other groups would be alienated if it was only curtailed to the RP group. Maybe if they added other options like for writers, gfx artists, debaters, fanclubs and such.

You should get others interested if you think it would help everyone out and improve the forums.

That's true. I mean there are a lot of RP'ers, so the admins can start with the RP'ers first and if the other groups demand something, then they could add it for them too.

Again, focusing on one group first wouldn't be a good approach. It would have to be done for everyone at the same time. It would be nice if Skorm decided to do the GFX for the bars but you would need to get the whole staff on board. Also not sure but I am almost certain this topic has been discussed many times before and the end result was always "No". You can always check back on those threads and see if there was anything else they may have recommended. I hope your endeavor ends in success.

Those were all related to the Role Playing system. Plus there are now other (made up) clans like Lily's, Vincent, ETC.

I guess it would be bothersome to make banners for each exciting clan.~

Well it wouldn't have to be for each clan. There are few official clans on the base such as Bartholomew (spelling?), Kiyoshi, Nekura, Supernova, Valentine, Uchiha, Hyuuga, Nara, Yamanaka, Akimichi, and Binkan. I don't think they actually deleted the existing userbars that were used before. It's not that many to be honest and they could add them back because I believe the code is there to simply input it in the database. The issue lies more with bandwidth and adding more to the load time. I don't know that much about websites but I know enough that it isn't impossible to add.

I wouldn't mind having banners honestly, but if they went through the process of removing them in the past, I highly doubt measures will be advised to restore them, I'm gonna be honest tho, I don't see the reason for it anyway.

I don't know which of the Lady staff said it but it might have been Ira-chan that said that it would be merely for aesthetic purposes anyway.

i don't think it's feasible. There are a lot of clans out there so and growing so...that'll be a lot of banners to make lol.

Why not make your own one, for example, Parrish has one, Kiriahatake does.

I forgot about that. Parrish has a shop and you can simply request a banner to go onto your avatar and they do not take up that much space, if you are premium. However if you are a regular user, your avatar will look quite squished lol. Still, should give you something to think about.

Yeah. The options to chose a bar still exist though they were never added back since the forum software upgrade because the older ones didn't work with the new forum. Just like we lost those 'gifts' ( I miss so much :/ but I digress.) I keep reminding the admins to add the user bars every 3 months or so. And 'am told that they would consider working on it. But some other problems come up and it gets side tracked because of more important things to fix first.

Problem is you already have a ranking bar under your avatar and village members also have one above their avatar and under their name. On top of that staff member and sensei already have an additional 2nd bar under their avatar. Having one more it starts to become too much and on top of that back then everyone used them, not just RPers. You had non Rpers running around with custom clan bars so even Rp wise there isn't really and point in it as even if you are wearing the bar, it doesn't necessarily you mean you are affiliated with a certain group, so they are purely cosmetic.

Tho, I have an idea tho, I don't know if it is feasible. When an admin/mod approves some bios, he could ask an admin to add the plugin for those who's bios got approved. That way the plugin is available to RP'ers with approved bios.

I hardly believe it works like that. Plug-ins are for the site. Not for a group(s). And making special groups with the exact same benefits as the users' primary groups with simply the banner added would be absolutely too much to manage especially if people leave and join clans a lot which I wouldn't know because I don't really partake in such things. But yeah. I don't think it works that way, unfortunately.
