Tsukuyomi, the fabled jutsu of Uchiha Itachi, has received much hype over the length of the series for its destructive power. As I've been skimming through earlier chapters, however, I've seen another possible use for this Genjutsu.
In the first on-panel use of this technique, Itachi caught Kakashi in an illusion that made him feel as if he were being pierced by multiple katana over the stretch of three days. What got my attention was the dialogue in the lower right panel.
Itachi states that everything, even time and matter, are under his control in this illusion; essentially the person trapped in it is subject to whatever the user decides to spawn. Hence, the inspiration for Madara's Tsuki no Me plan.
But what if the intent of the user wasn't to torture or otherwise harm?
As we know, Naruto left for a three year training trip with Jiraiya, after which he came back with improved seals, taijutsu, and ninjutsu. Was such a lengthy trip necessary for said results? As Kakashi himself said, Itachi made it seem as if
If a user of Tsukuyomi were to create a copy of themselves in the illusion to accompany the target, and teach the seals of certain jutsu that would usually require a large amount of time to learn in a mere instant, this jutsu becomes more than overpowered; There is nothing to suggest that Itachi can't make the time seemed to have gone by in Tsukuyomi more than a mere three days. Now obviously the physical effects of this jutsu won't carry over, yet this still interests me.
Would you agree?
