Many people think that Bee is still alive because he cut off that tentacle. They think he is doing that same substitution jutsu that he did with Sasuke. Here is what I say to that:
Even if he did that, it would not save his life. Gyuki gave a remorseful apology as he got sucked into the mazou (which implies that he was in fact the real Gyuki that got extracted and not just a substituted tentacle). Furthermore, having a bijuu extracted from you drains away all of your life force. Substitution jutsu is basically just an unnoticeable body flicker (which is just fast running). Running away would not restore Bee's life force.
You may be thinking about the case with Sasuke, but you forgot about one fact. Amaterasu doesn't automatically drain your life force and kill you like a bijuu extraction does. Therefore, running away and simply getting the amaterasu off of him did suffice in the case with Sasuke. Think about it with this analogy: If you get set on fire, but then you jump into some water, you'll still live. This is analogous to the case with Sasuke. However, if you get shot in the heart and then use your last bit of energy to jump in some water, you're still going to die. You'll just die in the water. This example is analogous to the bijuu extraction.
Now you may be wondering what that tentacle was for if it was not to save Bee. Answer: I believe that it was meant to be given to Naruto. Remember that Kurama made a plan that had something to do with Gaara and Shukaku. At that same time, Gyuki cut off that tentacle. Think about this: Who are the only two bijuus that Naruto does not have chakara from? Answer: Shukaku and Gyuki. The plan was probably for Gaara to seal some of Shukaku's chakara along with that tentacle inside of Naruto so that Naruto can get some kind of pseudo -juubi mode. Naruto is believed hy the bijuus to be the reincarnation of Hagoromo. Therefore, this conjecture makes sense.
Furthermore, Naruto and Sasuke are in desperate need of powerups to beat Madara and the juubi (yes the juubi. Don't forget that the mazou is currently in the process of transforming). Therefore, this powerup makes perfect sense.
There is really no reason for Kishi to make any effort to keep Bee alive at this point. He is not that important anymore. That is why I say that my powerup theory makes more sense.
