..And the micro transactions start before the game has even been launched..

Miniature, somehow docile monsters following people around in main cities and armor skins that make you look like a level 50 from level 1 Proved me this won't be the case..
Had they made the minipet one of the, from themselves, docile and friendly ingame creatures like a dog, a cat or one of those 2 legged lizards they use to pull wagons etc that wouldn't have been a problem..
Had they made the armor an armor style you could create if you had the style unlocked (so it would look like novice armor at novice level, and expert armor at expert level) it would have been fine in my opinion.
The race i could have lived with.. they did get the name wrong but i could see trough that as it would not affect my ingame immersion.
I bet this is just the tip of the iceberg, weeding out any potential complainers about the pay to win/cash shop nature they are creating ground for here..
If they want to do this kind of shit, and become another one of those mediocre MMO's we have seen coming out for the past ~3 years, then they shouldn't charge me more than the competition! The graphics will soon bore and then what? what does elder scrolls online offer me that is beyond what other MMO's are already doing, and thus would keep me p(l)aying? It won't be immersion, i can tell you that much.
Conclusion: for me to buy and play this game, it will need to go buy to play or free to play, as it offers nothing more than the other MMO's do. OR scrap this stupid DIGITAL IMPERIAL EDITION.

I'm not excited about the whole pay to play. At least make it cheap enough with the paid subscriptions to everything else in the gaming world.

There is a pay to play?!

Ahhhhhhhhhhh...that's unfortunate. Here I thought we were about to get an epic online player for councils that wasn't the classic pay to play.

subscriber based game =/= good steady flow of content (wow for example, they need to deliver content to keep players intrested)
pay to play based game =/= good hype, good first content, then focus on cash shop (gw2 for example, hasnt had anything major updated in about a year)
free to play based game =/= good constant content to keep players returning BUT alot of paygates and cash shop focus

i prefer the first to be honest :)

they are using their franchise to make a quick buck.

they are doing a mix IMO.. the sub fee will keep it alive and the primary buy to play will give them the kickstarter they need to continue pushing out content..

please stay on topic though, this is about the imperial edition and its benefits not about the subscription.
