Is FMA Brotherhood a Remake or Sequel? I really want to watch it but don't know where to start

FMA: Brotherhood was made 2nd but follows the original anime much more closely than FMA (the first one) did. The first FMA eventually deviates from the manga and starts doing it's own thing. IMO, FMAB (the one that follows the manga) is much, much, MUCH better and is one of my favorite animes ever.

If you enjoyed the first, you'll enjoy the 2nd

Just keep in mind, even though some things are the same, there will be some differences. For instance, there is a different Wrath in the 2nd one than the first but just remember that the 2nd one is the original series. The 2nd one does the story the right way so don't get confused when things you knew in the first one become different from the 2nd one. I say that cause it happened to me Lol

Very good anime, i didn't read the manga. So it didn't really matter to me. Brotherhood has more action and showed alot more back story to all the characters. I found the 1st one to be more emotional, although Brotherhood had some emotional parts too I think the dark feeling of the 1st one made it sadder. Not much more I can say without ruining it for you, do what I do. When in doubt get both. In this case watch both and decide for yourself which is better suited for your taste.
