As quite possibly the forums biggest Hanzo fan, the latest anime episode made me think.
A filler episode showed more of the Second Great Ninja war and revealed that the only reason Hanzo conducted an attack on the early Akatsuki was that Danzo had fabricated proof that they were violent and were a threat to peace. Thing is, i'm not sure whether I quite like that twist or not.
It technically by definition was filler but then again it does also totally fit into the mysterious timeline we don't know much about. The story of a peaceful honourable leader striving for peace, finding there is no such thing and thus becoming corrupt much more interesting.
Do you choose to believe this change in Hanzo's character?
