Rats are medium maintenance pets, a cage with bedding, a clip on water dispenser attached to the cage and small feeding bowls. Make sure it has something to exercise in, maybe a roll around ball or the rat treadmill thing. Honestly, they can be a pain in the ass after a while (owned a guinea pig seven years ago and gave him away).


My suggestion: give it away or set it free if you don't want the trouble.
