Cooler's Revenge; Anyone notice?

I was watching Cooler's Revenge this morning, so I decided to say something about this. Did anyone else realize that te timing is completely off? I know it's not canon, but whatever.

When Goku gets back from planet Yardrat in the anime, Trunks is in earth. This is the first time he has returned to earth since he defeated Frieza. When he arrives, Trunks gets Goku to show him that he can transform to Super Saiyan at will. If you didn't know, he does so with ease.

Now, it Cooler's Revenge, Goku is on Earth after defeating Frieza, yet he can't go Super Saiyan at will.

I thought this was kind of interesting

Dbz movies have a completely different timeline than dbz.

All the DBZ films are practically a different universe.

i think the movies go off of a 'what if' factor.......like 'what if goku didnt learn to control his ss powers'
