In today's chapter Hiruzen used the five elements, a feat that Kakuzu had years ago.

Is he finally on Kakuzu's level?

Kakuzu never used Suiton. However, it is logical to assume he can, I suppose.

Still, Hiruzen's jutsu are stronger and he actually trained then mastered the element, Kakuzu just stole other Shinobi's hearts.

Although i am inclined to agree with Hiruzen being stronger then Kakuzu, you also need to remember that Kakuzu DID fight Hashirama in his prime, and lived.

I mean, that is NOT a small feat to pull off.

The Data book also ranks Hiruzen at 34, and Kakuzu at 32.5, so even the official data says that they are very close in total power and abilities.

We'd either have to make Hiruzen ten years younger and speculate on his stamina and chakra reserves, or use the Edo Hiruzen without regen. to have him win against Kakuzu

1. Hiruzen is fighting Hashirama's Sage Mode power. Last time we saw Kakuzu he got fodderized by Choji.

2. We can't assume this is all Hiruzen is capable of. Maybe he has even more powerful elemental jutsu in his arsenal. And then he has the Monkey King and he's much smarter than Kakuzu despite being younger than him.

In fact, didn't Kakuzu get fodderized by Hashirama too? And here Hiruzen is taking on Hashirama's most powerful technique. Hiruzen >>> Kakuzu
