Deidara arrives in this majestic looking forest, the waterfall off to his left. He can tell by looking that the man he is facing is Jiraiya, one of the legendary Sannin of the Leaf. Quite an impressive title, even rivaling his own as a member of the Akatsuki. But he knew he couldn't lose, he couldn't afford to.
For the sake of the Cursed Prince I will win! hmph
With that Deidara gathers the nearby moisture in the air in the form of a rock sized glob of water that is formed behind Jiraiya's head and is then slammed into the rear of his head, causing a damage equivalent to that of a solid smack in the back of his head, jerking his head violently forward. While the water was being formed Deidara had taken a windmill shuriken off his back and as once the mans head was hit forward and he would likely be facing the ground, charged that shuriken with a chidori and then thrown it towards Jiraiya's abdomen, aimed to pierce him where it would have paralyzing effects once it pierced. But, before it hit Deidara formed a single handseal and cause a large boar shaped lid 10x10 meters in size that wasnt solid, instead having a solid bottom, after the chidori shuriken hit this would follow up and crush the man into bits.

Because of its size, to safely used, the lid has to be created at least mid range from the user otherwise he will also be caught inside. The biggest lid can dwarf a boss summon like Nagato's Dog or Gamabunta.

While surveying one of the members of Akatsuki, Jiraiya surveys him closely. Seeing the handseals, Jiraiya hears gushing water behind his head (amount of noise allows Jiraiya to estimate the size of it) and quickly creates a pillar of earth beneath him shooting him as he flips backwards over the water behind him, landing back on to his feet...

Description: The user changes earth into fine sand by channeling chakra into it, allowing the user to dig through it like a mole. While underground one can sense what is happening on the surface and use the information to launch a surprise attack on the enemy. Once can also hide deep in the ground, escaping to a depth where the enemy cant reach. It also appears that after digging, the ground can be returned to its original state, leaving no trace of where the user entered the earth. While inside the earth, the user cannot make handseals and can only use Earth techniques below C-Rank. If he tries to do a higher ranked technique, he'll disrupt the Hiding like a mole technique and be left crushed.

With his target assuming Jiraiya's death, Jiraiya moves to behind the lid (opposite side Deidera), and leaves the earth unnoticed. Jiraiya displays one handseal and channels his chakra in to the sky and makes it rain on em hoes.

When the rain is obstructed by a chakra belonging to someone the existence of the target can be detected. The rain will keep on falling until the user uses the seal to cancel it.

Jiraiya back flipped over Deidara's water and then went into the ground, avoiding the lightning shuriken and the giant earthen lid. Knowing while underground he is vulnerable Deidara forms a single handseal and manipulates his earth chakra so that the ground towards the middle of the lid becomes a pit suddenly and begins to suck everything into it, swallowing Jiraiya who underground would be swallowed up even easier. Jiraiya would be crushed, trapped, and would eventually suffocate. Waiting just some time, when Jiraiya would likely be caught in the pit and be trapped and suffocating Deidara forms 2 handseals and slams his hands on the ground, causing all of the ground infront of him to cave in and spiral in itself, crushing Jiraiya wherever he was.
Its a shame to give someone such an inartistic death, hmh...

The range of the pit is determined by how much chakra is put into the technique.

Description: After performing the required hand seals Boar → Ox → placing hand on the ground, the user causes the ground surrounding the enemy to spiral inwards on itself, burying them alive or crushing them in a mayhem of jagged rocks. This technique is capable of causing quite a bit of damage to a large area. This technique is much more damaging if used in rocky mountainous areas, or inside a cave.

Well. Malory did state he made the timing into the ground in which it would seem as if he had been crushed. Making CP's move a tad bit metagamed. However I think it's possible to see him go underground, given that there was no large obstacle preventing CP from observing Malory. Other than that, I felt more live from CP's moves. Well thought out, while Malory's only move was mainly kept to the defensive and going hidden. Being a short fight, there's not much I can base this on, but CP did provide a stronger use of tactics. So he is the winner. Sorry Malory.
