There's alot of rumors and slurs about fanboys/girls on this base, especially fanboys/girls of the Uchiha's. Some people on here rant about how they don't understand how so many members can be a fan of one specific Uchiha, Sasuke. They say why would anyone like this character. He's emo, selfish, arrogant, etc.
Well let me state some of Sasuke's life events.
Sasuke's story is a sad tale full of hate and darkness. Sasuke didn't want to be close to anyone. He mentally isolated himself from everyone. Sasuke didn't have people like Naruto has now. Sasuke had people like Orochimaru and Obito who encouraged Sasuke to go further into the darkness. Team 7 wasn't enough to take away Sasuke's hate. When Sasuke was in Team 7 he fought with the goal to become stronger to kill Itachi, but Kakashi and the others ignored the fact that Sasuke had darkness within him. The only time Kakashi intervened was after Sasuke and Naruto were on top of the hospital going towards each other with rasengan and chidori and he spoke whit him afterward, but it was to late then.
Sasuke since he was young knew what the pain of losing a comrade felt like, he felt helpless and weak. He constantly felt that way on team 7 every time he got saved by Naruto. It just fueled his hatred. His darkness grew and his hatred matured.
Sasuke isn't like Naruto who had somebody to tell him they love him and hold his hand when he's lonely. No, Sasuke preferred to be on his own. He wanted to avenge his clan and kill his only brother ever since he was young, while other kids were thinking about kid stuff, Sasuke was bearing his hatred and killer intent. Sasuke followed a straight path that led to him making up his own mind. Throughout his story he was mostly manipulated, mostly by his hatred and also others who manipulated his hatred, he always had a clear goal. He never had a good mentor that helped him with his goal. He made his own decision to protect the leaf and also has his own ideals on changing the Shinobi system.
He always had to plan things out himself and no matter what got in his way he still fought through it even when it was overwhelming. He was drowned in darkness and even killed some people. Kishi made Sasuke this way to show that Sasuke isn't a soft shinobi like Naruto who needs to lose control of his emotions to kill someone, instead he made Sasuke a true avenger and gave him that killer edge. He turned Sasuke into a character with who you can't predict but always enjoy and is interested in.
People complain about how easy it is to get Uchiha power.(Sharingan, MS, EMS) Saying stuff like " he keeps getting these handed power ups, he got the third tomoe by bad plot, etc."
Uchiha's gain their true power differently and it's probably the hardest power to attain. Their power depends on emotions and situations. For them to unlock sharingan they have to experience pain, for them to complete the sharingan the have to lose a precious bond, for them to awaken Mangekyou they have to see the closest friend/family die, and to top it off to gain EMS they have to take the eyes of a closely related relative(compatible wise) and transplant them into themselves.
Uchiha's can't just train and unlock Sharingan, for them to unlock something like that they have to experience bad/dark emotions or be in an extreme situation. Unlike people like Naruto who can just train to bring out their own potential and never have to rely on a specific situation to use his real power.
He endured all this and is right now fighting to protect what's precious to him. He didn't get softly talked into doing this like Naruto, instead he got told the truth by Hashirama and Hiruzen, then made his own decision without being cradled like Naruto .
Instead of staying with the leaf and following the paths of others, Sasuke followed his own path and gained his own power and carved out his own destiny.
This is why Sasuke is my favorite character.
