What defines a Fodder in Naruto?

What, in your opinion, defines a fodder?

Is it being one-panelled?

Is it having little to no feats?

Or is it none of the above?

I am interested to know what the exact definition of a fodder character is.

I've seen people call the following characters fodder: Kiba, Sasuke, Sasori, many more

As an extra challenge, order these ninja from that are considered fodder from best to worst: Sakura, Zetsu trooper, Academy Student, Regular alliance ninja, Shizune

A fodder is someone that is as useless or weak as Sakura is to versing SO6P.

In my opinion it is a character who isn't really involved or needed in the story ie. the whole ninja alliance except Naruto and Friends, the Kages and commanders pretty much.

IMO someone that has relevance to the story but lacks strenght compared to others in the same category. I'll get flamed but Sakura is a main character and heroine but compared to naruto/sasuke her strenght is quite lacking.

For instance the top 5-6; Obito, Madara, Hashirama, Naruto, Sasuke AND Nagato put 99% of the entire Naruto universe to shame and can claim that they are fodder in front of them, and the only ones who aren't are people like Kabuto, Minato, Itachi etc. Who put up a decent fight at best against the demi God top 5-6. That's relative "fodders". Fodders can also describe those lacking in skill like the majority of the Shinobi alliance, who pale in comparison to people like Kitsuchi, Darui, Neji, Hinata etc. Who they themselves are "fodder" to the aforementioned top 6 demi-Gods. It's all objective and relative to the characters at hand.​

DF!? Naruto....Sasuke....Obito!? They are dead basically atm.

Naruto doesn't have the fox and Sasuke is top 5 or 6 after BM Minato....Nagato > Minato.
Obito is dead and lost everything....flawed logic.
You don't add lost feats/power and expect it to be right.

Never understood why people use the term Demi-god.

In Naruto, they are people who called themselves god because they believe clinging on

to one bestow power, can make a difference in the shinobi world.

Usually "fodder" (or "cannon fodder") refers to "redshirt" characters whose only purpose is to die, but on NB it also means "character that you hate".
