internet service providers (ISP) are now allowed to change your internet traffic based on which sites you are visiting in real time. so for instance verizon can decide that every person using her service and goes to visit a competitior's website will get his internet crawl to a halt until he logs out of the site. or if apple doesn't pay verizon they will do the same when you try and browse from an iphone/ipad.

basicly, ISPs are no longer required to be neutral to what content their users view, and can use that to promote allies and take down competitiors as well as gain profit.
