I have recall the story in the spoiler. I have a vivid imagination and have written 2 1/2 novels, and various short stories, so I can't remember if I came up with this story or heard about it in my many college classes. So if this story sounds familiar to any of you can you please let me know because I don't want to take credit for a story that i didn't write lol
once upon a time god/zeus/odin(can't remember which deity) told a man that he would show him 5 women, and one of the 5 women would be his wife, but after he saw a woman he would never see her again. the first woman he saw was beautiful, so he reached out to take her but hesitated knowing their were four more, the second woman came and she was tall and thin, the man once more thought about reaching out but didn't, knowing there were three more, two more women passed, one played the harp and was more beautiful then the first, and the other could sing like a dove, unable to decide between the two he decided to pick the fifth, the fifth woman came, but she was a old woman well aged in years. Saddened the man prayed to the diety asking why he would torment him so. the deity replied, "when you see something you desire, you take it even when it may be a hard task"
