Obito did not lose his childhood crush. Obito lost someone who was very significant to him. Rin was a really good friend, and if you take out Obito's romantic interest in her, she still means a lot to him since he was alone and she was kind to him.
Now imagine how it must feel for Obito to see Rin killed by Kakashi. Not just losing Rin, but watching Kakashi killing her. The person most important to Obito was killed by his friend, who promised to protect her.
Obito was in grief and Madara's words caused him to realize Rin's death, and the cause of his grief, was caused by the system of the ninja world. It was because ninja were always using each other and trying to gain an advantage that Rin died. This caused Obito to hate the ninja world. However, it was the fact that he wasn't only the person to be caused by the ninja world, the fact that it has f*cked over many people, is why he's decided to change the world himself.
In short, Obito and the worldwas caused pain and suffering as a result of the ninja world. He now has the power to change it, and so he tried to. Everyone on this site would have done the same thing.
If you think "it's just Rin" and "it's for a childhood crush", then you're simple-minded, plain and simple. The world isn't as black and white as just moving on from grief, so stop acting like Obito's motives are bad.
