Some might make fun of monkey sage mode but I honestly don't see why not? Hiruzen was called god of shinobi who mastered every jutsu in konoha. So why wouldn't he have sage mode? The sannin are capable and it wouldn't make sense for him to not have it.

Because Sage Mode requires large chakra reserves, in his current form, his capacity is about one Katon, one Doton, two Kage Bunshin and the Shiki Fuujin.
