If you have a look on page 15, the bird does have an eye that looks like the rinnegan. Was it intended or just the drawing and it has no significant meaning?

The second last page, can someone tell me what happens? I really don't get it...

That is not rinnegan in the birds eye. It's just the design of his eye. Also Madara manifested susanoo around his hand to block tobirama's attack and then he dodged Sasuke's sword. There, it's explained.
