By the way OP, having a life isn't going to parties, and hanging out with huge groups of friends every weekend. While that is fun to do, having a life is as basic as finding things you enjoy doing and doing them. If you prefer to stay indoors and read more often than going outside, then that is you having a life, and there's not a damn thing wrong with it.

You should enjoy the life but not wasting it.
Having life is enjoying it and also don't waste it for something stupid.

8 hours of job minus 3 hours thinking about anime and amvs = 5 hours of life
6 hours of sleep
3 hours for other basic activities
that's all
out of 24 hours of a day, my outside life = 14 hours.

when I meet my friends (only two left. remaining? I'd say "I don't care anymore for them after college") on saturdays we talk about our life and laugh and then discuss about the manga/anime released or plans for new amvs.
Plus, I don't drink, smoke nothing. I'm happy with my life =D
