How powerful do you think yamato is?

I'm just wondering cause when I first saw him in action I thought he was around kakashi and gai level but. That clearly is not true and I'm sure he would own asuma, kurenai or other jounin. I'm not really sure how strong he is but even if he is a watered down version of hashirama he sure does have some good moves, my favourite has got to be the small dome like structure he uses to hide in or non battle wise house creation jutsu. P.s kakashi or gai would not get caught by kabuto that easily.

I know I'm talking about when he was first introduced kakshi and gai were nowhere near as powerful as they are shown lately and I thought back then that yamato could keep up with them especially when he replaced kakashi as team captain I mean they don't just get anyone to replace but I know now that I was wrong. Surely there must be a reason he is not that great battle wise despite possessing mokuton which has suppressing powers.

Edit: well I guess everyone thinks he is quite weak, I do too but not that much to say mid jounin.

But I'm pretty sure gai and kakashi are or were pretty much equal till kakashi I proved his aim with kamui. Gai is not to be underestimated as 3 times he surprised kisame

Well kakashi in war arc improved a lot and gained more feats. That's why he's close to top 10, he's top 12 for me and i agree with the gai part, that dude is a badass, let alone 6-7 gates, if he goes 8 gates he'll die but 6-7 gates = pro/badass.

Special jonin is weaker than any jonin but stronger than a chunin.

I believe Yamato is low-mid jonin level.
