Now mind you, I don't really read the manga, but what if Obito learned some type of time manipulation jutsu that could take him back in time to change a part of history in exchange for his own life where he has to decide whether to save Rin or save the world by bringing an adult Kakashi to kill an aged Madara who is missing one of his eyes in the underground location Madara took Obito to stitch him up.

In the end he chooses to save the world with Kakashi being the person to kill Madara and Obito dying but being able to be with Rin. This being if he gains complete control of his own body.

It was a theory coming from someone who doesn't read the manga lol it's not that serious, and time manipulation probably isn't the best word to use but all I mean is a jutsu that can take the user back to a time that was important to them and change or better it in exchange for their own life.
