Both their meanings seems to be the same (I used context clues and the situation he used Gujou Kibakufuda to determine Tobirama's meaning fot the jutsu). So, did Madara help, or does he just know from being around him?

Sharingan can see thru all jutsu it just cannot copy KG unless u have the cells (hashi) but madara can easily read thru that jutsu

Sharingan is the reason he knows the functions of the Edo Tensie. Combined with his intelligence specifically at the area of his analytical skills, he knew how the Jutsu worked.
