Itachi didn't 'solo' Nagato or Kabuto. Both times he had people helping him (Naruto + Killer Bee & Sasuke).

OT: Obito can take being tortured, just look at what happened when the Juubi was mentally ripping him to shreds. If that's not enough for you, then Obito knows that you must never look into Itachi's eyes so will avoid it at all costs by keeping the fight long-range or by other means.
