Why do people hate Neji and Jiraiya's deaths so much?! Also, why do they blame Hinata

People say all kinds of bad things about Neji's death. They say it was stupid and that he shouldn't have died. Some people say that it was just for fanservice or for a NaruHina tease. To this I say: You are wrong! It gave character development to Naruto by showing that he could rise above the hatred that results from the pain of loss as long as he had the support of his friends. It shows that he could endure more than Obito who was Naruto's dark parallel. It was clearly not just a NaruHina tease. That NaruHina moment got destroyed the moment that Minato said that Sakura reminded him of Kushina. Some might say it even got destroyed when Naruto gave everyone else chakara cloaks in the very next chapter. This is coming from a NaruHina fan, so you know I am not speaking from a biased perspective.

As for blaming Hinata, Neji's death was in no way Hinata's fault! Hinata never asked Neji to save her! Not once did Hinata ever say, "Neji, save me". Hinata actually intended to die for Naruto. If you want to get mad at anyone, get mad at Neji for interrupting Hinata's intentions! The fact is, Naruto never asked for Hinata's assistance and Hinata never asked for Neji's! As for the main house branch house thing, Neji stated that he didn't sacrifice himself because of that. He said that he felt the same feeling that comes from dying for your comrades as his father did. The house system had nothing to do with it, so blame Neji or blame Obito if you're going to blame anyone for Neji's death!

As for the argument that Neji had no closure or no development, I say: You are wrong! Don't you guys remember the chapter called whirling and enduring? We had Neji flash backs in that chapter. There was also all of that talk about Naruto keeping the real Neji in his heart. The alliance even jumped into the shape of the bird that symbolized Neji! How much more closure do you need? Neji was not so important that he needed 5 to 10 chapters of flashbacks in order to give him closure. If you ask me, Shikaku was more important than Neji. He was the chief strategist of the alliance! There was also not that much about him that could even be developed! He could be explained in a few sentences. He was nice and innocent as a little boy until his father was unjustly taken away from him. He then became an arrogant jerk who believed in predestination. He was secretly just still hurt because of the loss of his father. After being defeated by Naruto and talked to by Hiashi, Neji was humbled and he became nice again. 3 years later, his new found resolve led him to sacrifice himself heroically. The end. That is all there is to Neji! How much more development does the guy need?

As for the argument that Neji shouldn't have died because Tsunade survived being cut in half, I say: You simply haven't been paying attention to the series if you go with this argument. Tsunade is both a Senju and an Uzumaki that is the best medical ninja in the world and has Katsuyu! It has long been established that Senju DNA defies all logic when it comes to fatal events. Obito's entire right side was destroyed, but Obito was saved by Senju DNA. The rasenshuriken damaged Naruto's arm on a cellular level, but Naruto healed quickly because of his Uzumaki life force and because of Kurama. Hashirama could even regenerate without making seals. Like I said before, many examples have established that Senjus and Uzumakis defy logic when it comes to surviving stuff. This situation with Tsunade is no different. Plus, Tsunade got medical treatment from both Katsuyu and Karin. Neji got no medical treatment. It is therefore not surprising that Neji died. Don't say that this was unfair that Neji got no treatment because Naruto asked for a medic to come and Neji said no to this.

As for the argument that Neji died like "fodder", I say: No he did not. He died heroically. Sacrificing yourself is heroic. It is only fodder if you are forced against your will to sacrifice yourself or if you simply get killed without being handicapped in any way and without purposely letting yourself get killed for a cause. Neji willingly sacrificed himself, so it wasn't a "fodder death".

Finally, you people have been complaining about not getting deaths in the war. We get a death and then hypocrites want to still be unsatisfied about it. There is just no pleasing some people.

Having said all of this, what possible reason could you have for hating on Neji's death or blaming Hinata or Naruto?

About Jiraiya, I see no reason for anyone to say that he shouldn't have died. He simply died. End of story. It wasn't PNJ or foul play or anything of the sort. He simply lost. Saying that he shouldn't have died is like saying that Asuma shouldn't have died. I don't see why some of you guys are so attached to Jiraiya.

I liked Jiraiya's death - it was good character development for Naruto. I didn't like Neji's death at first - it just didn't feel right - but the more I thought about it, the more it appealed to me.

Pardon me for not reading the wall of text.

I didn't know people hates Jiraya's death.

For neji's I think the people who say it's hinata's fault are mad cuz she just thought it best to run and throw herself infront of Naruto before idk pulling him out of the way or something? Death stunts don't work twice homegirl. But yeah it had to happen that way so. I personally am not mad at either.

Read the 2nd paragraph. That explains why it is not Hinata's fault.

the problem with nejis death for me is that it was so sudden there was no build up or anything of the sought but the more i think about it, its probably the most war like death a supporting character can get in this type of manga as it was sudden and thats how war is people will die at any given time and there's never any build up, yeah it sucks but thats war

and i agree, people complain about no deaths, kishi kills then they complain that he did so

as for jiraiya he was and is one of my favorite characters but his death was important for naruto the main character

I am so gonna get flamed or something like that for saying this. I did not give a rats *** about neji in part 2. To me he was a another fodder. Same for hinata. Do I hate them no. Do I care no. Jiraiya was a much more important character. I felt sad about his death but I knew it was needed so I can take it. If j man came back I would be happy he was funny.
My two cents. People are way to attached to some characters. I know when Itachi died in the anime it was in the news a guy committed suicide like wtf.

I wondered that myself .... why did Neji didnt even try and shove both of them off with a double Air Palm (Hinta was already jumping and had only had gravity and wind resistance holding her) and then I realised that the Jubi's attack was actually a wide AOE or all those pierced Shinobi that we saw would have just move away. Also that 'death stunt' would have actually worked or as it did for Neji ...

When I say death stunt in this case meaning she wouldn't have been saved this time. Look at poor neji ;o

Its because despite being ignored for the most part in the entire shippuden series as were other members of the k11 , kishi was trying to hype up how much of an impact it had for naruto, who hasnt even been around neji enough to call him a friend. Neji was better suited as narutos acquaintance from their lack of time shown together. He then proceeded to drag it on and not leave it alone which further exemplified how desparately he was trying to make him relevant instead of admitting that he wasnt important to the story and moved on.

If neji was as important as kishi made it out to be, he would have at least tried to show the together doing things that friends actually do.

Jiraiyas death was just perfection. If neji was portrayed to have been around naruto even 1/4 as much as jiraiya doing friendly dtuff, then it have at least made sense.

You're getting the wrong idea. It was not about the fact that it was Neji in particular that died. It was the fact that one of Naruto's friends in general died. It could have been Chouji. Naruto previously stated to Obito that he wouldn't let any of his friends get killed. Kishi was emphasizing that you can't always have it like that.
