Almost all battles are decided in close combat fight

Yea peoples are saying minato don't have any explosive, big offensive jutsu so he is not a top tier ninja. well guess what , managa proves you wrong.
I did a slight research and found out that most massive scale offensive jutsu are just for showoff and they haven't done any significant impact on the manga.
for e.g Meteors jutsu of madara killed non of big ninjas
Mokuton jutsu and wood dragon has yet to kill any1
all those bijju bombs has only killed fodders
amatersu didnt killed anybody else except fodder zetsu
susanoo is a fail jutsu cause it hasn't done any harm to any 1.

so despite ,what ever big jutsu you have in your bag, at the end it all comes down to close combat fight and most of these fights results have been determined by swords piercing or close combat jutsu like rashingan, chidori etc etc.

For all those who think Minato don't have any firepower or destructive power then just look below.

Minato became top 10 material without OP destructive attacks.

Who is to say someone can prolong battle in their favour to shift it their own range?
Those are some examples of battles, not every battle goes same way. Wooden spears impaled Neji are not even close range attacks. Gai vs Kisame at turtle island was long range, Shikamaru vs Temari was long range, Deidara vs Gaara was long range, Kakuzu vs Ino-Shika-Cho was long range, Madara vs Gokage was long range, Zetsu vs Mei was long range and several others more aswell.

this is absolutely true...minato is too fast anyway and cannot be touched and he is one of the smartest shinobi ever and most skilled, the fact remains that out of all those high level shinobi he is the only one that doesnt need any of the big jutsu, and minato is virtually untouchable by any shinobi other than juubito, and minato is the fastest and u knw what that means #SpeedKills

& most of the time it takes Jutsu to weaken Ninja's stamina in order to defeat them in close combat. Which was the case in all the fights you have listed..

The story is written like this in order to increase drama and not make it boring. However characters still need those big techniques to cancel out their opponents big techniques. I.e Madara vs Hashi had PS and Kyuubi vs Bhudda etc. Explain how alive Minato gets through a Susanoo/Naruto's chakra cloak

No as they can counter by speed shield what ever. What he said is mostly true as most of the fights in the end go to close range for the killing blow in the manga excluding fodders. Also he meant you don't need op jutsu to win. Also this makes sense as increases suspense etc.
