Most stories starts with a Legend... A Legend that over time, turns into a myth... But the courage, the sacrifices, and the Hero that stood up against all odds... Those are things that shall never be forgotten... From one Legend to another, from the beginning of time, to the end of all living... It all comes down to this... The Legend... The Origins... of The Master Sword...

[One Shot] The Legend of Link &
The Master Sword's Origins:

"...What do you mean Uncle?..."

"...The Legendary Blade... It was said to be forged by the Gods themselves, capable of defying all evil... One man, chosen by the Goddess Hylia herself, was its first wielder... A man full of courage and determination... Half human and half divine being, he was the symbol of hope... Slaying the Demon King Demise himself, the Hero stood firm and served the people for many years to come... But, as time went by, and peace spread throughout the land, another form... A reincarnation of the Demon King, rose from the ashes, declaring himself the Great King of Evil... Born to the Gerudo tribe, his lust for power, doing anything and everything to reach his goals, made him a powerful foe indeed... His name was Ganondorf, and he was the wielder of the Triforce of Power... As destiny had foretold, a new hero would step forward to fight the evil reincarnated, one wielding the Triforce of Courage, and after a long and hard battle, the King of Evil was beaten back by the Blade of Evil's Bane, the legendary Master Sword, formerly known as the Goddess Sword... With the three Triforce pieces of Power, Courage and Wisdom now brought back together, Ganondorf was sealed to the Sacred Realm... Evil would however, not rest for long, and many decades later, the Demon King, Demise, was resurrected to wreck havoc once more. This time, no hero rose to oppose him, and chaos spread across the land once again... It was then, that something unexpected happened..."

"No hero rose to oppose him? How could the land be saved then??"

"Ganondorf, the King of Evil, sealed to the Sacred Realm many years ago, returned, only this time, transformed... Into the evil beast Ganon... As many had predicted however, Ganondorf, now turned into his much more dangerous counterpart Ganon, would not bow to anyone, not even the Demon King he was said to be the reincarnation of... The land was nearly destroyed in the war that followed between them... The Triforce was lost to history, suspected to have been split up into the three pieces of Power, Wisdom and Courage again, and sent to different dimensions... As time passed, and the war was coming to an end, Ganon, the King of Evil, defeated the Demon King Demise and eradicated his whole Demon tribe... But as he did, something unexpected happened... His new demonic form reverted back to his human presence of Ganondorf... And just as the King of Evil was about to claim the land his own, another Hero rose to oppose him, and this time, Ganondorf was slain by the long forgotten blade that was the Master Sword. As peace returned to the land, the Master Sword was brought back to its resting place, in the Pedestal of Time, in the sacred Temple of Time, said to be built by the Gods themselves. The Triforce also returned, and it was sealed off in its inner chambers... For Millenniums to come, the land knew peace, up until that fateful day where a new dark power was lurking in the shadows, only to finally spring forth again... And this my dear Nephew, is where your father's story, our family's story, begins..."

In a dense forest, some miles away from the comfort of the Castle walls and her Kingdom of Hyrule's realm, the Queen, and her newborn daughter were being transported by carriage and horses by at least a dozen guards as they were on their way to a diplomatic meeting with one of the last tribes in their kingdom, not in allegiance to the Queen and the late King's legitimate claim of the throne. However, in the darkness of the peace that had been thriving throughout the land for the past decade, much to the savior of the people, the masked hero's doing, was a dark and powerful presence, and peace was now about to be threatened once again... Amongst the guards, were two boys, brothers, not much older than eight years old, and they were accompanying their father, one of the most respected guards of her royal highness. The convoy of the Queen however, was not too large in size, to avoid gaining much attention, but her presence could be felt as far as the roots of the forest went, and with it, came a band of thieves, murderers and rapists... Even though the land was at peace, not everyone felt bound to the new law set forth by the new Kingdom's establishment, and a hit on the royal convoy itself could mean a lot of profit. Though evil was lurking in the shadows of the forest, something much grander and more powerful was on the rise, something, or someone, that would throw the land in complete chaos once more... But for now, the band of thieves, murderers and rapists, were more than enough of a threat to the Queen and her convoy, and even though the guards alone should have been capable of defending her, the Masked Hero known as Zorro, had not yet gone into retirement... Always ready to assist on his black horse Tornado, the already aged hero would make sure that the final tribe would come to a peaceful agreement, and that the land could finally rest assured... For now...

?: Father, are we there yet?

?: Relax Nexus, we are almost there...

Nexus: But we've been walking for several miles already, my legs are starting to get tired...

?: Why do you always complain like that brother??

Nexus: I'm not complaining Link! I'm just stating something obvious!!

Link: You should just sulk up and be a man about it... Complaining isn't going to get us there faster...

Nexus: I'm not complaining!!-...

?: Halt!!

Link: What is it father??

Being her majesty, the Queen's most trusted guard and the commander of her convoy's ranks, Sahasrahla was always on the alert to any and all possible threats as he stopped in front of the rest.

?: What is it Sahasrahla??

Coming over to him was his trusted friend and lieutenant Agahnim, who was the 2nd guard commander in the royal guard of the Kingdom of Hyrule.

Sahasrahla: There's something lurking in those trees over there...

Agahnim: Are you sure?

Sahasrahla: Have I ever been wrong?

Agahnim: Okay, so what do we do?

Sahasrahla: Tell the Queen not to worry, I'll scout ahead.

Agahnim: Good thinking...

Walking over to the carriage behind them, Agahnim went down to his left knee beside it as he addressed the Queen.

Agahnim: Your royal highness, we seem to have some troubles up ahead, Sahasrahla is checking it out as we speak.

Queen: Could there be some trouble?? Only the Tribe of the Neeato knows we're on our way through this forest...

Agahnim: Don't you worry, I don't think it's something serio-...

Sahasrahla: Guards!! Stand your ground and protect the Queen at any costs, now!!

Agahnim: ?!

As Agahnim was addressing the Queen, Sahasrahla had scouted ahead, only to come running back with several dozen bandits on his tail. From the trees beside the convoy came even more of them rushing out, armed to their teeth with swords, axes and bows. As Sahasrahla ran to the ranks of his guards, the two forces clashed head on as everything were thrown into complete chaos. Hurrying over to his two children, Sahasrahla told them to hide under the wagon as an arrow came flying in, hitting him in the shoulder.

Nexus: Dad!!

Link: ?!

Sahasrahla: It's nothing!

Grabbing a hold onto the arrow, Sahasrahla easily ripped it out as he continued.

Sahasrahla: Don't come out here for anything unless I tell you to, you hear me?!

Nexus: But...

Sahasrahla: No buts!!

Turning around while drawing his sword, Sahasrahla came face to face with another bandit as he quickly dealt with him after exchanging a few rounds. As he did, Agahnim came running over to him.

Agahnim: They're too many, we can't hold them off!!

Sahasrahla: We must! We can't let any harm come to the Queen! Formation!!

Reaching his thumb and his right index finger up to his mouth, Sahasrahla gave out a sound whistling as the other guards knew what this meant and quickly took up position in a circle pattern around the carriage of the Queen. In the middle of the chaos, the two horses supporting the carriage broke free as they ran away as the band of thugs and bandits quickly surrounded the convoy, as if awaiting orders.

Agahnim: What are they up to, why did they stop...

Having raised their shields around the carriage, standing in a circle pattern lock-down, the guards were ready to defend it with their lives as they were outnumbered 3to1. Out from the thick trees in front of them came the leader of the band, as he addressed the convoy, and especially its commander.

Bandit Leader: Sahasrahla, you all have fought brave... But, there is no use in further bloodshed... We're not here for the Queen's life, only for her diamonds and gold... If you could please hand it over, we will let you on your way...

Sahasrahla: ...

Agahnim: Fools!! Did you really think we would just let you have your way like that?! The gold and the diamonds are for the peace negotiation, without it, the Neeato will never agree to join the kingdom peacefully!! The peace will never be secur-...

Bandit Leader: I wasn't talking to you boy, I was talking to Sahasrahla... He is the 1st Guard Commander after all...

Agahnim: Wha-...

Sahasrahla: Let it go Agahnim...

Agahnim: But, we can't?! And how does he know your name?? Do you know who he is??

Bandit Leader: His name is widely spread throughout the kingdom, everyone has heard of the famous Guard General, the Commander of her royal highness's personal security!!

Knowing that he was serious in his claim, Sahasrahla carefully looked over at him, trying to plan out his next move as the group of bandits started laughing while the other guards were on even higher alert, still holding up their shields in front of them, forming an unbreakable circle around the carriage of the Queen, with their swords raised high in the air, ready to parry any and all attempts.

Bandit Leader: I'm not going to wait all day...

Queen: That will be quite enough...

Bandit Leader: Oh... So you decided to speak your mind, your... highness...

Stepping out of the carriage, much to the guards protests, the Queen herself stepped out as she addressed the bandit leader personally.

Queen: A kingdom is nothing without its people... And a kingdom divided will never do any good... For Hyrule to prosper, this treaty will have to go through... I'm sorry, but I can't allow you to take the treasure we possess...

Bandit Leader: So formal... So noble... Yet so young and only just in her early rule... After the King so tragically passed away last month, I suppose you, the Queen, are very desperate trying to fulfill your late husband's final wishes, *Smirk.*

Agahnim: How dare you speak to her royal highness like that you scum!! The King was murdered by the likes of you!!

Almost breaking position, Sahasrahla almost had to hold Agahnim back as he snared at the bandit leader...

Sahasrahla (low voice): Calm down Agahnim, everything in time...

Queen: You are right... I am young... Inexperienced, desperate... This deal has to go through, no matter the stake... I can't give you our treasure, but, in exchange for my guards lives and a secure passage to the peace treaty meeting, you can have me...

Agahnim: What?! What are you-...

Queen: Nothing is more important than the people... Without the people, there won't be a Kingdom to rule... My life is more valuable than the treasure we possess here... You can trade it for more valuable treasure back in the Realm of our Kingdom...

Bandit Leader: Ahahahaha, pathetic!! Why are you willing to risk casting away your life like that so easily your highness? The Realm of our Kingdom?? The Realm of your Kingdom you mean...

Sahasrahla: Your highness, you can't expect us to allow you to make such a sacrifice, we will fight to the end for you, no matter wha-...

Agahnim: He's right, you don't know what they'll do to you or if they keep their promise, we can't let you do this, think about your daughter-...

Queen: I know you would Sahasrahla... That's why I elected you to be my Commander... There's no one I trust more than you two... But, this has to be done, you can't beat their superior number and come out of it alive... Someone will have to look out for my daughter for me...

Forming a smile on her face, the Queen looked to desperate measures to solve the problem at hand.

Bandit Leader: Hmm... Well, you are no use to us dead... If this is what you want, I suppose we could agree on that...

Hearing this, another bandit from his gang came over to him voicing his disagreement in the proposed arrangement.

Bandit: Sir, that would be a mistake, we could simply eradicate them and take both the treasure and the Queen for oursel-...

Bandit Leader: Now that's not a bad option... But, I am a man of honor, I wouldn't want unnecessary bloodshed if I can avoid it...

Queen: ...

Bandit Leader (whispers): As soon as we have the Queen... Kill them all.

Bandit: *Smirk*

Bandit Leader: So what's it going to be dear Queen...?!

Link: We will never let scums like you do this, never, you hear me!!

Having overheard everything that has happened from beneath the wagon, Link had climbed out as he was shouting to the bandit leader.

Sahasrahla: Link! I told you to stay under there!

Bandit Leader: Bwuhahaha! Now who's this kid?

?: A kid who has everything a honorable man should possess...

Bandit Leader: What the?!

Suddenly out of nowhere, a black rider came jumping out from one of the trees with his trusted steed Tornado, armed with a sword, his identity covered by a mask, a completely dark attire with a black cape to go along with it, and a name sung across the land. He was known as Zorro, the savior of the people. Swinging his sword, Zorro knocked the bandit leader off his feet as the other bandits were thrown into chaos.

Bandit: That's-... That's... Zorro?!

Link: Zorro!!

Bandit 2: Hasn't he retired already?!

Guard: Yeah!! Now that Zorro is here, the odds are in our favor!!

Agahnim: Everyone, attack!!

Sahasrahla: Wait! Don't rush ahea-...

Seeing Zorro appearing, the moral of the guards was quickly refueled as the bandits were thrown in chaos. Standing up to his feet again from the earlier blow, the bandit leader quickly gathered his gang again as a raging battle begun between the two forces once more. Due to this however, several of the guards broke their ranks, forcing Sahasrahla to quickly make his move.

Sahasrahla: Your highness, quickly get back into the carriage!! As for you Link, hide beneath it with Nexus now!!

Link: But...

Sahasrahla: Go!

Almost pushing him under, Sahasrahla drew his sword once more as he ordered the men to hold their ranks as long as they could. The black rider, Zorro, was a master swordsman with few equals, and even though he wasn't hired by the Queen or in her service, Zorro had pledged his eternal assistance to her and the people, and was easily able to stand his own ground, despite getting older and being heavily outnumbered. Swinging his sword around, he quickly fended off several bandits as both Link and Nexus were enormously impressed, seeing the Legend himself fighting before them. Cheering from beneath the wagon, the two of them watched as the bandits started to fall, one by one, to Zorro's might.

Bandit Leader: Do you have any idea what you're getting into?! An old man like you should stay retired!!

Zorro: Oh, but I couldn't retire before making sure that the Kingdom would finally become whole and at true peace... In the end, there just has to be someone there to stop the likes of you!

Exchanging several rounds, the two of them seemed to be at a stalemate as several bandits were attacking the guards defending the Queen and her carriage. Seeing this, Agahnim could not resist helping Zorro, as he broke ranks yet again and dragged several other guards with him, exposing the Queen to danger.

Sahasrahla: Agahnim, wait- Ugh!!

Trying to stop him from going out, Sahasrahla's guard was left open as three arrows came flying in, hitting him in the chest simultaneously, causing him to fall to his knees.

Nexus: Dad!!

Rushing over to him with Link right behind him, Nexus quickly grabbed a hold onto him as some other guards came to help, dragging him into their ranks and forming a circle of shields once more as countless other arrows rained down on them.

Link: Father!!

Sahasrahla: Ugh... My sons... be bra-...

Nexus: Dad!!!

Unable to finish his sentence, Sahasrahla succumbed to his wounds, much to the other guards and the Queen's despair. Seeing this, Link grabbed a hold onto his father's sword, as he broke through the ranks and raced for the bandit leader himself. Seeing this, Agahnim, whom was in the middle of a lock-down with three bandits himself, suddenly realized what had happened as he was filled with rage, trying to fend the three bandits off. Just as Link reached the bandit leader, Zorro himself grabbed a hold onto him as he dragged him backwards, just barely avoiding the swing of the bandit leader's sword.

Zorro: Stay back kid, unless you want to die recklessly!!

Keeping Link behind him with his left hand, Zorro efficiently parried all of the bandit leader's strikes at him as he went for the counter attack.

Zorro: You're not bad... That must mean something coming from me, *Smirk.*

Bandit Leader: Hah, were you always this full of yourself?! This will be your final battle... Zorro!

Fiercely swinging his sword at him once more, the two exchanged several more rounds as the bandits started to diminish one by one. Agahnim himself had barely managed to fend off another bandit as he was forced back to the ranks of his fellow guards, as the guards who had rushed out with him previously, had easily fallen to the superior number of the bandits. Seeing this, the bandit leader quickly signaled the other bandits to assist him as some of them surrounded Zorro and Link.

Zorro: Heh, I do hope you've been able to learn how to use that sword of yours kid, as I can't protect you forever...

Link: Hah! I learned from the very best guard there is!! Watch me!

Standing back to back, both Zorro and Link exchanged several rounds with the bandits, as the bandit leader shifted his focus on the carriage.

Bandit Leader: This will all have been for none if we can't steal that treasure! Everybody, attack!!

Leading the rest of the bandits, they finally broke through the ranks of the guards as the carriage was thrown to the side in the process, causing the Queen and her newborn daughter to fall out from it. Seeing this, some of the bandits immediately went for her as Agahnim jumped in front of them with a sword in his hand.

Agahnim: My queen, quick, make a run for it!!

Queen: But...

Agahnim: No time to discuss, you must protect the princess!

Clashing with three of the bandits, Agahnim wasn't able to hold them all off as a sword lashed on to his back, before another pierced his stomach.

Agahnim: Ug-.h..

Queen: Agahnim!!

Guard: They're after the Queen!! Everybody, protect her at once!!

Making a run for it, the Queen ran through the forest with her newborn daughter in hand, as she was being chased down by a at least five or so bandits. Running as fast as she could, the bandits quickly caught up to her as she fell over a large root sticking up from the ground, causing her to lose the baby on the ground not far away from her.

Queen: Zelda!!

Turning around, the Queen saw the bandits right on her tail as Nexus suddenly jumped in between them.

Nexus: Run now, while you still can!!

Queen: I can't, I-...

Nexus: RUN!!

Trying to hold the five bandits off with merely a sword, the power of their combined might flung Nexus through the air, causing him to fall on the ground on the other side of the Queen, just by the baby's side, as his sword flew into a nearby river.

Nexus: Why haven't you run away yet?!

Queen: My ankle, I think it bro-...

Bandit 1: Well, well, well, what do we have here?

Bandit 2: Looks to me like a fresh piece of meat!

Laying his hand on her leg, the bandit was quickly surprised as the Queen lashed her right hand across his face, causing him to fall backwards.

Queen: How dare you! I am the Queen of Hyrule!!

Bandit 3: You have no authority here!

Delivering a punch straight across her face, the Queen fell to the ground again as she looked over at an astonished Nexus, whom had no idea what to do... Looking over at him, the Queen then uttered some words Nexus knew the importance of.

Queen: Take... Zelda... And get out... of here...

Nexus: I...

Queen: Please...

Knowing that her end could be near, a tear formed in her face as she looked over at Nexus, only to get a sword plunged through her chest from behind by one of the bandits.

Queen: Go-...Ug-h..

Bandit 4: Idiot!! What have you done?! You were not suppose to kill her!!

Bandit 2: Does it look like I care much?! She had it coming, she should not have slapped me...

Bandit 5: What is done is done, let's grab that kid and the Queen's only child!

Aiming in on Nexus, the bandits slowing approached him as Nexus rose to his feet and grabbed a hold onto the baby. Slowly backing away from them, Nexus knew he wouldn't get far as he had almost backed away into a great river with strong currents behind him.

Bandit 1: Where are you going to go kid??

Bandit 2: You surely aren't considering going for a swim, are you?? *Smirk.*

Bandit 4: You might as well hand her over...

Nexus: I will never do that, never!!

Bandit 3: Oh you're a brave little one, aren't you...

Bandit 5: Well then, then you will die!!

Raising his sword, the bandit was just about to go in for the kill when Tornado, Zorro's personal ride, came jumping in, causing the five bandits to fall over on their backs, as he reached his front paws up in the air, neighing and stomping at them, forcing them to back off.

Bandit 1: It's just a stupid horse, come on you guys!!

Quickly getting up on their feet again, the bandits prepared themselves to launch at him when Nexus quickly figured out what Tornado intended for him, as he quickly grabbed a hold onto his reins with his right hand, and Zelda, the newborn baby, in his left, as he seated himself on top of him, only to fly high in the air, over the bandits, causing them to topple over again, as Tornado rode off in the direction they came from. Seeing this, the bandits quickly followed, only to be met by several of the guards charging in at them, causing them to scatter amongst the trees in separate directions, only to be hunted down and slain brutally.

Back by the carriage, the final bandits had been dealt with as the bandit leader was all that stood left on the battleground, with the rest of them fleeing with their tails between their legs. Lashing out on Zorro in mad rage, he was quickly overpowered as Zorro knocked his sword out of his hand and up in the air, before catching it in his free hand as it fell towards the ground, and used both swords to scratch two Z's on both sides of his neck.

Bandit Leader: Ugh...

Zorro: Two Z's, one for each law you've broken, to remind you never to hurt the people and its Queen again!

Bandit Leader: This... Is... Not over yet!

Quickly grabbing onto a horse that ran by with another bandit on top of it, the two rode off with only a few bandits remaining as they caught up to them. As the bandit Leader took off, he tossed off some glossary at Zorro, Link, and the remainder of the guards as he disappeared in the shadow of the trees.

Link: *Pant, Pant* Well that was easy...

Zorro: You fought well kid... Alas, I don't think it's all over just yet... I have a bad feeling about all this...

Link: !! Dad?!

Realizing that they had been given a breather, Link, who started to break out in tears, rushed to his father's body as the remaining guards gathered beside Zorro as they discussed what had just went down. Some of them even began to gather the bodies of the fallen guards and bandits, as Tornado, with Nexus and the baby Zelda on top of him, came riding towards them as it stopped by Zorro's side.

Zorro: Easy boy, you did great...

Guard: Where's the Queen, boy?!

Nexus: I...

Slowly climbing down from the horse with the Princess in his hands, Nexus didn't know what to say as the other guards returned from the riverbed with the body of the Queen with them.

Guard: No, it can't...

Zorro: The Queen... I have failed...

Nexus: Are you kidding me, without your help, we would most likely have all died!

Zorro: The day Zorro can't save the people, yet its Queen, is the day Zorro has failed and must retire... You two fought brave, but it is time for me to go.

Reaching onto Tornado's reins, Zorro then mounted him as he was about to ride off. Seeing this, Link rushed over to them as well as he grabbed a hold onto the reins of Tornado.

Link: Wait, why are you leaving?! You can't, someone has to overlook things until the treaty meeting is over!

Nexus: He's right, without our father or Agahnim, we-...

Zorro: Without the Queen, there won't be any treaty plan... You boys should know this...

Link: I...

Zorro: Here, take this...

Reaching for his neck, Zorro took off the necklace that he had on him as he gave it to Link before he continued.

Zorro: The time of Zorro has come to an end... The Kingdom will have to withstand hardship and the consequence of my actions without me... The loss of the Queen will be hard for the kingdom to swallow... I'm afraid my good deeds have lead to nothing else than bad this time around...

Link: But... You can't just go, where would you...

Nexus: It's not your fault! You can't be a coward now!! Not after everything you have done for us, the people, over the past decade! You are Zorro, the symbol of hope!

Zorro: I am but a man, and even I am flawed... Maybe the next Zorro, burns bright in one of you... This is goodbye kids... Let's see if fate has it that we meet again. *Clicks Tongue*

Taking off at great speed, the masked hero known as Zorro, was gone before anyone knew what to say or do...

Nexus: Now what?!

Link: Now... We fight for our kingdom!

*20 Years later*

Nexus: ...And now, we must fight for our kingdom, for our Princess, because she is our symbol of hope, our shining beacon of light, and without her, there's no one left in the royal family to rule our kingdom, which our ancestors fought so hard to claim and to build! The castle must be retaken, and the Princess must be rescued at all cost! We are the last remainders of her Majesty's royal guards, the protectors of the throne, and we must fulfill our oath of eternal service, until the last breath of our bodies, until the last swing of our swords! Together my brothers, we will oppose this new threat, and bring back the peace brought upon by those before us! I beg you, tribes of Hyrule Kingdom, to join us in our attempt, and your loyalty and sacrifices shall never be forgotten! Everyone, Attack!!

Standing on a high cliff, just some hundred yards away from the royal castle of the kingdom of Hyrule, were the last remaining guards of her Majesty's service, of the Princess, Zelda, the sole heir to the throne, and those tribes who had sworn loyalty to the Royal Family and their rightful claim to it. Over the course of the last year, a great and powerful evil had returned and cast its darkness across the land, and with it, legions of ancient Monster Tribes had sprung forth from the dark holes of the earth to cause havoc and disaster on the Kingdom and its people. Battles were fought daily, blood was shed, and men, horses and monsters fell upon the battlefields in the wake of the war that followed. Ever since that fateful day, 20 years ago, where the late Queen of Hyrule's convoy, on their way to a peace treaty, was attacked by a band of thieves, murderers and rapists; where, in the chaos that followed, the Queen, together with the commander of her royal guard, Sahasrahla, and his vice-commander, Agahnim, were slain, the threat of war had been on the horizon. The final tribe to join Hyrule was the Neeato tribe, that, following the assassination of the Queen of Hyrule, joined peacefully to avoid getting the entire Kingdom's wrath upon them, blamed by many to be the real culprits behind the Queen and the King's death. The King, whom was assassinated by an unknown attacker with a bow, from distance, only a month before the Queen's death, had a brother, and it was he whom temporarily took over until the newborn Princess, Zelda, was of the right age to claim the throne for herself. On her nineteenth birthday however, at the day of her supposed ceremony and rise to Queen, the great darkness came, and the new King, her uncle, was chosen by the people to lead, due to his position as the King for the past nineteen years, as well as his experience, and characteristics.

But now, nearly a year after the storm hit Hyrule, the brother of the late king, and Zelda's uncle, had been slain in battle, thereby making Zelda, the only rightful heir to the throne. The castle had been taken by the evil Monster Tribes, and the Princess had been taken captivated. Driven out from the comforts of their home, the royal guards were prepared for one last march, to reclaim the castle, save the princess, and hopefully come face to face with the leader of this new evil, and end the war once and for all, before it could get even bloodier. Nexus, the son of the late guard commander Sahasrahla, had walked in the footsteps of his father to become the new one at only the age of 27, merely a year ago, and were together with his brother, Link, regarded as one of the finest swordsmen there was these days, even if both of them had a lot to learn still. Leading a group of about a 1000ds of guards and tribe warriors, the final remainders of the forces of the kingdom of Hyrule, they were set upon one of the bloodiest battles in the history of the land. However, despite all this, Nexus and Link hadn't plan to go down in battle on the battlefield, as they, together with a very small group of about eight other people, had been tasked to sneak into the castle, rescue the Princess, and if possible, end the great evil once and for all.

Nexus: Link, follow me!

As the two forces almost came head to head, Nexus, Link and their eight followers, rode off to the left of the field, pausing on top of another cliff at the side of the castle. Turning around, they saw the two forces crash head on as cries of pain and death were heard from a long way.

Nexus: Alright, is everyone set on their task?

Turning around to the nine other horsemen with him, Nexus seemed to have a heavy look on is face, realizing that this task, that was of the utmost importance, preventing them from helping the other troops out on the field.

Link: What's the matter brother, you seem-...

Nexus: It's nothing... So, are you all ready to save the Princess?!

Cheering out in mutual roar, the nine men raised their swords in the air, as Nexus turned around again and took off towards the drawbridge that was at the side of the castle, with his men close behind him. Closing in on the gate, two patrols on top of the walls noticed their approach, but were both quickly shot down by Link's arrows before they managed to signal it to the others, as they fell over the walls and plumbed into the great currents that went all around the castle, coming down from the great mountain that surrounded the castle from behind, stretching all around to each sides of it.

Link: It's all clear, I don't think they are alerted of our presence...

Halting their horses by the wall, the ten horsemen proceeded to dismount as they looked up at the drawbridge ahead.

Nexus: Nice shots Link, we can't have anyone notice our presence, or this mission will surely fail. The diversion of the kingdom's armies will have served for nothing if we can't succeed... Their sacrifices against the massive armies of the Monster Tribes must be-...

Link: We need to focus on our task brother, keep your head clear and your mind calm.

Nexus: You're right Link, I'm sorry...

Impa: So where do we enter?

Impa was one of the nine men chosen by Nexus for this task, but the curious thing though was that Impa, was certainly no man. She was a woman, a member of the Sheikah tribe, one of the seven sages, and Nexus' own wife. She was two years younger than him, being 26, and she was also one of Princess Zelda's closest friends and protectors, making this rescue mission mean more to her than most people.

Link: I don't think we can get this drawbridge down without attracting attention...

Nexus: Isn't there some secret ways into the castle that you know of Impa??

Impa: Well... Since you ask, there is one, but...

Talon: Then what are we waiting for?

Ingo: Yeah, like my brother said, let's not stall any further!

Talon and Ingo, were another pair that were brothers in the ten-man-squad sent on the rescue mission, and they had been close friends of Nexus and Link up the years. Talon and Ingo actually ran a ranch before all this happened, but due to the war, they too took up arms, and were personally trained by Link and Nexus, whom were two years younger than them. In fact, the ten horses they rode on, were the final horses of their old ranch, said to be of the finest quality in the whole of Hyrule.

Impa: Alright, let's go then, but we have to hide the horses some place first...

Talon: What, are you nuts?? Do you have any idea how rare these horses are, if they were to be-...

Ingo: They are rare, yes, but the mission at hand is more important! I'm sure if we find a nice spot, they will remain hidden...

Talon: ...

Impa: ...Follow me then.

Walking past the left side of the castle, the nine men and one woman ventured down a path leading behind some rocks, were they decided to tie up the horses. Once that was taken care of, Impa stopped by a large rock, covered by two trees forming a cross with their branches between them, as she brought out an old Ocarina from one of her pockets, that had the symbol of the Triforce upon it, together with some old Hylian text encrypted on it as well.

Groose: Playing an ocarina now won't do much good you know...

Eagus: Just remain silent Groose, it's not an ordinary ocarina she has...

Groose: Oh...

Eagus: Just watch.

Two other members of Nexus most trusted men, were Eagus and Groose, both of which had gone through the ranks of the royal guard with Nexus and his brother from early age. Eagus was even said to be the one to train Link and Nexus in swordsmanship after their father was killed, and he was the Guard Commander at some point after Sahasrahla's death, until he stepped down and let Nexus take over. Due to Nexus becoming the new Guard Commander, Eagus had taken the role of Knight Commander, charged with training the new recruits, and he was said to be the greatest swordsman in the entirety of Hyrule nowadays, ever since the mysterious masked man known as Zorro, disappeared 20 years ago. Eagus was a little older than the two brothers, being 35, but his physical condition was greater than ever before. Together with his cousin Groose, they made up a great pair, one almost always optimistic, while the other almost always pessimistic.

Groose: ...

As Impa put her mouth to the ocarina, she played a tuned that made the wind blow strong, the branches of the trees dance, the ground to rumble, and a bright divine light to appear on the large stone in front of them. As she stopped playing and her tune came to an end, the magic brought by the ocarina slowly diminished as a door appeared on the rock in front of them, leading down into the ground by a dark staircase.

Eagus: What did I tell you cousin!

Groose: Yeah, yeah...

Amazed by this, a smile formed on Eagus face as Groose seemed as carefree as ever.

Ingo: So, is it safe??

Talon: Of course it is safe, how else would she know of it, right?

Impa: It is perfectly safe, but I cannot guarantee for your safety once we're inside the castle...

Pipit: So, are we going to stand here all day, or are we actually going to go inside and rescue the Princess? The longer we wait...

Link: You're right, we should head inside.

Impa: Follow me then.

Leading down the hole in the ground, Impa reached for an old lantern hanging on the wall of the staircase as she lit its candle on fire, lighting up the way as they headed further and further down into the ground.

Groose: It sure is cold here...

Eagus: You always complain on something don't you...

Pipit: Hmm... This place seems so-...

Nexus: Dark, yet sacred...

Impa: It hasn't been used for several years... This is in fact the first time I walk this path... If I'm not mistaken, we'll end up in the dungeon of the castle...

Talon: The dungeon?? Isn't that were they keep their-...

Ingo: Prisoners, yeah...

Pipit: You guys think that's were the Princess is being held? Together with the law breaking scums of Hyrule?!

Rusl: Calm down son, I don't think whoever is in charge of the Monster Tribes keeps the Princess captivated down here, a woman of such standards would probably be held somewhere else, although I do suppose that it will be easier to rescue here if she is indeed kept down here...

Pipit: Hmmm...

Rusl and Pipit, father and son, and two other members of Nexus' handpicked rescue squad, were close friends with Talon and Ingo, and they had specialized their family business in hunting before the war started, and both were excellent hunters and marksmen. Pipit was about the same age as Link and Nexus, while Rusl was in his early 50s, and was the one to train Link in the art of the bow. Being the oldest of the squad, Rusl was a wise man indeed, but his age had started to interfere with his steady hands, and therefore, he wasn't as good with the bow as he used to be in his earlier days.

Pipit: I suppose that would be an advantage father, but at the same time... Just the thought of those bastards daring to throw the Princess down here, it's just despicable to think about...

Rusl: Well if they have, we shall certainly do something about it...

Nexus: Impa, are we there yet??

Impa: Yes, I think so, it should be over here somewhere...

Having reached the end of the staircase, they suddenly found themselves at a dead end, like a dark room with no furniture, windows or even doors. However, it wasn't called a secret path for nothing as Impa was searching the wall on the left side of the room, looking for a way into the castle.

Link: Is it a brick you have to pull out or something??

Impa: I'm not sure, but once I see the key, I'll know that it's the way through...

Groose: What do you mean?

Impa: What I mean, is that if you guys help out, we will find it quicker! Look for a mark, an oddly shaped stone, or something close to it that doesn't belong in this wall...

Going over to the wall as well, the others began searching as well, but none of them could find what they were looking for, until one of them stumbled over something.

Makar: I don't suppose this is it huh??

Pointing to a brick in the wall that had three white dots on it, marked in a triangle pattern, Makar, the final member of Nexus' handpicked rescue squad, drew Impa's attention. Makar was a rather shy guy, but he had a great personality and determination, and was willing to do everything and anything to protect those he cared about. In fact, Makar was the only son of Agahnim, about three years younger than Nexus and Link, and he had spent most of his life wandering the land, searching for a greater meaning to life. He had just recently arrived back in Hyrule as the war started, and being immediately recognized as the late Agahnim's son, by Link, he was quickly recruited to the ranks of the guards. Having little to no training in the art of sword or bow, he specialized his abilities in using a spear and shield, and his greatest strength was his defense rather than his attacking abilities.

Impa: Move over to the side for a bit, and let me check...

Nexus: Well?

Impa: Hmmm... I think this is it yeah...

Reaching for her pocket, Impa then drew fort something in the shape of a scroll, as she opened it up and started reading some text in Hylian, the language of the forefathers of Hyrule and their Goddess, Hylia, as she laid her left hand on it.

Impa: ...
"とりあえすあなたにとつて
なによりもたいせつなのはね
しんしることけんきのなるんたそ
ということをふかく
こころにねんしることてす
"
...

Nexus: ...

Groose: Ehm, what did she just say??

Link: "For the time being,
the most important thing
is to believe. Hold deep
within your heart the notion
that you will get better."

Impa: That is correct... But I'm not really sure what it means...

Makar: Huh, you know Hylian Link?

Link: Just phrases of it really... I haven't been studying it too hard-...

As the words had been spoken, the three white dots on the brick in front of them began to light up, as they started forming lines between them, forming a triangle of white light, something in which Impa immediately recognized.

Impa: The Triforce...

As she said, she then picked forth the ocarina again, as she started playing a familiar tune on it...

Once the tune ended, the whole wall lit up as the bricks started pulling themselves to the sides, making a clear opening in the middle of the wall in front of them.

Impa: We should hurry up, I don't think it will last forever...

Hurrying inside, the ten of them finally sat foot inside the castle as the wall behind them closed itself up again, leaving their entry point hidden.

Talon: Great, now what...

Ingo: Now, we find the Princess.

Eagus: Yes, we can worry about getting out of here later on.

Pipit: Which way should we head? Maybe we should split up-...

Nexus: No, we leave no man behind... If we split up, chances are that we get outnumbered more quickly-...

Link: Brother, I think Pipit is right, the longer time we spend searching, the less likely are we to pull this off.

Nexus: Sigh...

Link: Besides, moving in smaller groups will make less noise and make it easier to avoid being spotted...

Impa: Well?

Nexus: Alright, we'll split up in two groups, and we'll meet up back here in one hour. Impa, you think we can go through the same way we entered if we do the same ritual??

Impa: Yeah I suppose...

Nexus: Okay then... And remember people, no one get's left behind.

Link: Right...

Nexus: Impa, Eagus, Groose and Makar, you're with me. Link, you'll take Talon, Ingo, Pipit and Rusl.

Pointing off down the corridor, Nexus then took his part of the squad with him as he was about to take off when Link grabbed a hold onto his arm.

Link: Whatever you do brother, don't decide to play a hero, you hear me? If I lose you-...

Nexus: You won't, now remember, one hour.

Taking their leave, Nexus and the rest disappeared to the right from the wall they entered through, while Link and the rest proceeded to the left.

Pipit: Are you okay splitting up with your brother Link?

Link: I'll be fine, what matters now is the Princess...

Rusl: Right indeed. We should get some light.

Reaching out for one of the nearby torches, Rusl went ahead of the rest as he lit the path in front of them, leading down what seemed to be a prison dungeon. Passing by numerous cells, a hand suddenly reached out from one of them and grabbed onto Link's right arm, much to everyone's surprise.

Link: !!

?: Relax, I'm not your enemy...

Link: Let go off me if you know what's best for you...

?: Please, you have to get me out of here, I'm begging you, I haven't done anything wrong!

Talon: We don't have time for this, everyone down here are law breakers, scums, and murderers... They're not even worthy enough for the forces that has taken the castle to set free and recruit...

Ingo: My brother is right, we need to go.

Link: ...

?: Please, please, I'm-...

??: Don't listen to that fool, he's a murderer of the worst kind!!

Reaching out from another prison-cell, another inmate shouted out, as more and more of the prisoners started joining the fray.

???: I'm the one you should set free! I only stole a bread to survive for another day, these two murdered countless people!!

Pipit: Link... LINK!!

Link: ?!

Pipit: We need to go, now! Before this riot alerts out presence!

Grabbing a hold onto him, Pipit almost dragged him with him as the five of them headed further down the corridor and around a corner, before taking a short breather.

Link: Damn it, where should we begin to look?!

Rusl: It doesn't seem like the Princess is down here in this dark hole-...

?: That my friend, is correct...

Everyone: ?!

Having paused around a corner leading down another cell-block, the gang came across a lonely prisoner in a cell closest to them, not accompanied by anyone else.

Talon: And you are??

Ingo: Yeah! And why are you locked away here all alone?? Maybe you are of the worst kind, huh...

?: My name is not important... Are you here to save the Princess?

Pipit: And what do you know of it?

?: She's not in this part of the castle... I overheard some thug patrols earlier, she's in...

Link: Well??

?: Get me out of here, and I'll help you rescue the Princess...

Rusl: Fool! How do we know you're not playing us??

?: You don't, you just got to trust me...

Talon: Hah! You baffon... Let's go-...

Link: Wait...

Ingo: What's there to wait for? Don't tell me you believe this scum?!

Link: It's worth a shot, why would he be lying...

Pipit: You don't know him Link, for all we know, he could be one of the worst kinds of murderers! Why should you trust him?

Link: There's something familiar with him... He doesn't come off like the rest...

Standing there looking at the prisoner, it was as if Link had seen this man before, there was just something about him, his composure, his way of talking... Something just seemed not to be right. Not knowing what to do, Talon and Ingo had walked a few yards down the block as they peeked around a corner to see what was up ahead.

Talon: We should go, there's a staircase up ahead and I think it's leading out of this dungeon.

Ingo: He's right, we don't have time for this...

Pipit: I know you usually follow you guts Link, but they are right...

Rusl: You have to make up your mind now Link!

Link: Hush, I'm thinking!

?: I wouldn't go up that staircase if I was you guys... They have a food station just on the top of it, if you go there, your mission will surely fail...

Ingo: Ah just shut your trap, Link let's go-...

Grabbing a hold onto his arm, as if trying to drag him with him, Ingo was quickly dismissed as Link dragged his arm out of his grasp.

Ingo: You know, this is why Nexus became the new commander, because he doesn't lack action like you do!

Link: Just go and check! If it's cleared, we'll go, if there's a food station there like this man says...

Pipit: But Link...

Link: Just check it out, please.

Talon: Geez, fine...

Hearing Link's determined plea, Talon went ahead to scout as he ventured up the staircase and slowly opened the door in front of him, only to see countless grunts dining at several tables, with their axes and swords close by. Seeing this, Talon slowly closed the door again as he came back down the stairs.

Ingo: Now??

Talon: Holy cow, he's right... There's got to be a whole battalion there...

Rusl: A whole battalion?!

Pipit: Not so loud, if the hear us, we're screwed...

Link: Are there any other ways around??

Talon: Not that I can see...

Link: Hmmm... Well, it seems like you were telling the truth after all...

?: I wouldn't have no reason to lie, I'm on your side...

Link: What do you mean??

?: I was thrown down here after I tried rescuing the Princess...

Everyone: ?!

Link: Huh?? Then how come I've never heard of you??

Ingo: Alright, alright, will you just let him out already, we've already wasted a quarter of an hour standing around here...

Link: Okay, move aside mister...

Readying his sword, Link applied force to it as he broke the chain off, and forced open the door.

Link: Now, you show the way...

?: Fine, just give me a sword...

Link: Someone give this man a sword...

Talon: You can't be serious??

Link: I am...

Talon: Geez, well then, take one of mine...

Tossing a sword over to the stranger, Talon then readied his gear again as Link continued.

Link: You said you overheard where the Princess was held, right?

?: Yes I did...

Link: So which way is it... ehm...

Obviously fetching for a name, the mysterious man then spoke out.

?: You can call me Diego...

Link: Well then, Diego...

Diego: Right, follow me...

Nexus: Another dead end??

Eagus: I'm afraid so... Anything on your end cousin??

Groose: Nothing...

Makar: Sigh...

Impa: There should be a way around those grunts, but I'm not entirely sure where...

Nexus: Then we'll force our way through... How many were there??

Makar: About ten...

Nexus: If we catch them by surprise, we could push through-...

Eagus: Are you sure about this?? If the attack fails, we will be outnumbered 2to1...

Nexus: There's no other way around, we have to try.

Impa: Then ready your arms...

Walking back the way they came from, the five of them then headed to a staircase, leading into a great hall, as it was patrolled by at least a dozen monsters, as they slowly opened the door and peeked outside of it.

Nexus: Are you ready...

Looking back at his squad, he got a firm mutual nod, as the five of them charged out into the hall, catching the ten patrols off guard as Nexus went straight in for the kill on the one closest to him, stabbing his sword right through the back of him, puncturing through his chest, as his victim felt to the ground dead as he pulled his sword out of his dead body, with blood gushing out of him in every direction. Looking up, he saw that Impa had silently taken care of her target as well as her two small blades reeked of enemy blood. Standing up to his feet, Nexus fixed his aim at one of the incoming Moblins, a pig-like creature, standing on two legs, having a powerful body with heavy muscles and a mean-looking face, as he swung his sword around, slicing his throat with a clean cut, before maneuvering around to take care of another. Beside him, Impa was using her two short blades as the two of them mowed down several incoming Bokoblins, another creature within the same race, only smaller in size and perhaps even more vicious. They had been alerted to their presence, as the great hall started to fill up with more and more enemies.

Eagus: Nexus!! We have to move, their number is increasing!! At this rate-...

Nexus: I know, everyone fall back!!

Signaling the others to fall back as well, the five of them headed to the door they came in through as Eagus, Groose, Makar and Impa all made it through before the enemies came too close as they prepared to slam the door shut behind them. Nexus however was caught up in a fray with over ten enemies, both Bokoblins, Moblins and even a Monster Race known as Stalfos, a large skeleton monster wielding four blades, one in each of his four arms, as they all attacked him head on, unabling Nexus to see any other way out of it than fighting his way through.

Impa: Nexus!!

Makar: I'll go help!

Eagus: Makar, wait!

Seeing this, Makar jumped back into the field as he swung his sword around, breaking the fray that had Nexus locked up, as he dropped his shield and grabbed a hold onto his arm, trying to drag him with him. Just merely making an opening, Makar used his might as he tossed Nexus towards the others direction, as Eagus quickly grabbed a hold onto him before he fell to the ground. Quickly regaining his balance, Nexus was just about to reach his hand out to Makar to drag him inside as an enemy sword flung straight through Makar's chest, causing him to spit up blood as he fell to his knees.

Nexus: Makar!!!

Eagus: We have to close the door now before we get overrun!!

Nexus: Damn it, we leave no man behind!! Makar!!

Trying to force his way out of Eagus' grip, Nexus could only watch as another blade pierced through him, this time from the front. Realizing that there was nothing that could be done, Eagus used his might to pull Nexus inside as Impa and Groose quickly closed the door behind them, jamming it up with anything they could find as the grunts on the other side started to bash hard on the door, trying to break inside.

Groose: Damn, they know of our presence now, at this rate, rescuing the Princess will be proven very difficult, we don't even know where she-...

Impa: We can't stand around here, we have to retreat...

Looking over at Eagus, Impa signaled him to take Nexus with him, whom barely could stand on his feet in devastation, as tears ran down his cheeks...

Nexus: Leave-... No-... Man-.. Behind-... Makar, he-... You could have gone without me... He could have-...

Impa: Pull yourself together Nexus, we all knew what was at stake here, we-...

Having a sad expression on her face, Impa knew instantly how much pain this caused Nexus, as she knew what type of person he was and that he was blaming himself for it.

Nexus: If I hadn't miscalculated, if I-...

Groose: We have to go, now!

Eagus: He's right, now that they are alerted to our presence, rescuing the Princess will be-...

Nexus: No!! I can't have let Makar die for no reason! He was like a cousin to me!! We have to save her, no matter wha-...

Eagus: He was a close friend of mine as well, but this is war Nexus! Think about everyone that is sacrificing their lives outside as we speak!

Nexus: That is why, we need to get the Princess, we just have to!!

Breaking free from Eagus' grasp, Nexus headed to the door again, as it almost seemed like he was going to take down the blockade and go through it.

Eagus: Don't be stupid!

Impa: Nexus, what are you doing, it will be suicide to go through that door!

Grabbing a hold onto him, Impa turned him around as she grabbed a hold onto his face with both her hands.

Impa: Nexus, look at me! Nothing is more important than rescuing the Princess, but ending up dead here won't do us a thing! Nexus, I love you with all my heart, can you trust me on this?

Nexus: I...

Impa: We have to go now, before they break through...

Leading the way, Impa put Nexus' left arm around her shoulder as Eagus and Groose quickly followed.

[...]

Diego: Up there, can you see her...

Link: Shoot, you were right, that really is-...

Talon: So now what, how do we go on about this?

Ingo: She seems to only be guarded by three Moblins... Shouldn't pose too much trouble to take out, if you three ready your bows...

Pipit: You're right, this is a safe distance to shot from... We should take care of them and rescue the Princess now before any other enemies appears... You think you can take the shot dad??

Rusl: Heh, shouldn't be a problem...

As Link, Rusl and Pipit readied their bows, their arrows struck through the air elegantly as the three Moblins standing guard fell over in the blink of the eye. Rushing across the hall and over to the lonely prison-cell that was there, the five of them came face to face with the Princess herself.

Zelda: Whoa, who are you people, how did you-...

Link: No time to explain, we have to get you out of there before any other enemies comes around...

Telling the Princess to take a step back, Link swung his sword as he tried to break the chain, but to no use.

Link: Damn, this one is reinforced...

Diego: Did you guys bother checking the pockets of these guys?? Just saying...

Pipit: Shoot!

Realizing what he meant, they quickly searched through their pockets as Ingo pulled forth a key from one of them.

Ingo: This must be it...

Unlocking the cage with the key, the Princess then quickly stepped outside as they started planning their next move.

Link: Right, we should head down the way we came from... We will protect you with our lives Princess, make sure you stay behind us-...

Zelda: First of all, just call me Zelda, second of all, just give me a sword.

Talon: What, you know how to use one??

Zelda: Of course, don't be silly.

Ingo: Fine, take one of mine then, but don't get ahead of yourself.

Link: Yeah, don't risk it unless absolutely necessary...

Zelda: So what's your name?? Are you part of Guard Commander Nexus' squad or...??

Link: Yes, I'm his brother, but for now, we have to get out of here...

Zelda: I see...

Pipit: Then no time to lose, let's head back-...

Diego: I'm afraid our roads will have to split here...

Link: What do you mean??

Diego: There is something I have to take back, something that belongs to me...

Link: What do you-...

Pipit: Link, there's no time, reinforcement can be here any minute!!

Diego: I'll take care of myself, you get the Princess out of here-...

Link: No, no one get's left behind, not even you...

Diego: My life is not important, just get the Princess out of here.

Talon: You heard the man, let's get going.

Link: Just wait a sec...

Ingo: There is no time!!

Link: Okay, you four escort the Princess out of here, I'll back Diego up...

Rusl: What, are you nuts?? You don't even know this guy...

Link: Something tells me I do... Just trust me on this one, get the Princess out of here.

Pipit: Alright, but don't you fall behind.

Link: I won't... Diego, lead the way...

Seeing his friends disappear beyond view with the Princess, Link then turned his attention to Diego as the two of them quickly took off as well.

Link: So what is it that you so desperately need??

Diego: You will see...

[...]

Impa: Okay, we're here...

Eagus: Still no sign of the others huh...

Groose: It's been an hour already, we have to-...

Nexus: Just hang on a minute, maybe they've run into some trouble like us, maybe they've-...

Eagus: Wait, someone is approaching!

Readying their defenses, they four of them were quickly relieved to see some familiar faces, as Pipit and the rest, with the Princess in their hands arrived...

Impa: Zelda, you're alright!

Zelda: Barely... So this is the rescue squad...

Groose: Right on time...

Nexus: Wait, where's my brother?!

Talon: We helped this guy out of jail, a decent guy whom claimed to be one of us. Link decided to help him retrieve something.

Nexus: He what?! With whom?!

Ingo: Hey, where's Makar??

Impa: He didn't make it...

Rusl: Hmmm...

Nexus: Wait, I can't lose my brother too, I have to go after him!!

Pipit: There is no time, I'm sure he can take care of himself. Our first priority should be to get the Princess out of here.

Impa: You're right, there's probably only a matter of time before those grunts break through our barricade...

Realizing that they had to get out of there now, Impa proceeded to read out the Hylian text on the scroll again as the mark of the Triforce lit up on the wall again. Picking forth her ocarina, she was just about to start playing the tune when incoming enemies, from both sides, rushed in at them.

Eagus: You got to hurry that tune up or we won't make it out of here alive!!

Impa: Just give me a second here! Can you hold them off?!

Nexus: Protect the Princess and Impa, until the ritual is ready, at all costs!

Forming up a defensive line on both sides of the wall, Nexus, Eagus, Talon and Ingo stood firm at one side of the wall, Groose, Pipit and Rusl at the other, while Impa and Zelda were protected in the middle of it as Impa started playing her tune. Clashing with the two incoming forces, the courageous warriors stood their ground as they were just able to hold the enemies off long enough for Impa to finish her ritual. Signaling them to hurry up inside, they went through the wall, one by one, until only Eagus and Rusl stood left, just moments before the opening was about to close.

Nexus: Hurry up inside now or you won't make it!!

Eagus: Someone has to hold them off unti-... Arrrghh!!!

Using his might, Eagus pushed his opposition aside as five Moblins fell over flat, causing their forces at one side of the corridor to fall over like domino bricks. Turning around, he was just about to jump in through the wall, when he saw that Rusl was struggling to hold his side off.

Impa: It's going to close, now or never!!

Pipit: Dad!!!

Rusl: Just go Eagus, I will hold them off...

Eagus: But-...

Rusl: Just go!!!

Hearing this, Eagus turned around as he saw the wall started to close and just barely managed to jump inside through it as it closed.

Pipit: Dad?!?!?!

Shocked to see his dad choosing to stay behind to hold them off, Pipit ran to the wall as he started bashing on it, before Eagus grabbed a hold onto him to hold him back.

Eagus: He's gone Pipit, he's-...

Pipit: No, he-... He couldn't have-...

Eagus: Pipit, I-...

Saddened deeply by Rusl's sacrifice, seeing his son Pipit in complete shock, even Eagus wasn't able to keep his tears back this time around, as he had to drag Pipit with him, almost having to knock him out to be able to do so. Grabbing a hold onto the lantern from before, Impa led the way as the eight of them went out the exit they came from, as Impa closed it with another tune. Walking over to the horses, Talon and Ingo started untying some of them as Pipit was laying on the ground, crying in rage. Standing by the large rock, Nexus didn't know what to do as his attention was turned towards the horses, as Impa and Zelda had already mounted onto two of them. Hurrying over to them, Nexus helped Pipit up as the eight of them rode off to the hill on the side of the castle, only to see the two forces almost having eradicated each other. What stood left, was merely around 50 tribe warriors from the tribes of the kingdom, while the Monster Tribe armies had been defeated. Inside the castle however, were countless more, and trying to retake it now would only lead to total extinction. Riding down to them, the Princess greeted the remaining troops, as she thanked them all and spoke to the remaining tribe leaders that were left. Looking over at the castle once more, Nexus suddenly noticed a man flying through the window of the highest floor, only to hit the strong currents below and get washed away. Not too far behind him from one of the floors below, came another man through another window, as he dived into the river as well, as if trying to rescue the man whom fell before him.

Nexus: ?!

Eagus: That couldn't have been...

Immediately acting on instincts, Nexus rode off towards the front gate as he looked into the deep and strong currents below, but nothing was to be seen. Catching up to him were Eagus, Talon and Ingo, as they alerted him of the enemy reinforcement about to head out of the castle-doors.

Eagus: Nexus, if that really was you brother, I-...

Talon: There's no time! The drawbridge is coming down, we're dead if we wait around here!!

Ingo: He's right, we have to retreat now or be annihilated!!

Knowing he had little choice, Nexus, together with the three of them, turned around as they rode off to the rest whom then retreated behind the hills as countless foot-soldiers came out of the lowered drawbridge, starting to march towards them before halting their advance some yards out. Seeing the fleeing forces of the kingdom, the troops were quickly called back as they returned inside the castle.

Nexus: Are we seriously going to retreat?! We can't just-...

Zelda: We have to... As the rightful successor to the throne, it is my job to secure the future of our people. If we fight now, we will all fall today...

Nexus: ...

Zelda: I want to thank you all for your bravery this day, without it, I would have been executed at the hand of evil, and evil would have ruled the land without question. Now, there's still hope, and as long as we can fight, we will find a way to reclaim our kingdom and bring on peace once more!

Raising her sword into the air, the Princess brought with her a mutual cheer as the moral of the troops rose from the mud.

Zelda: For now though, we will retreat and set up a base, and from there on, we will find a way to turn this around.

Leading her forces through a mountain ravine, the young Princess knew that even if the battle was lost, the war was far from over.

Impa: Are you alright Nexus?

Nexus: If that man was my brother...

Impa: You can't think like that, I'm sure he's fine-...

Nexus: But what if he was?! I need to go back there and search the river, I need to-...

Eagus: If that indeed was your brother, I'm afraid he wouldn't have survived the strong currents even if he was alive after the fall...

Talon: He's right, the castle is famous for the strong currents surrounding it, and they only lead into...

Nexus: ...

Ingo: The great waterfall...

Groose: But I wouldn't think like that, even if I'm the pessimistic one...

Pipit: Huff...

As the armies of the Princess slowly but steadily vanished into the mountains, dark and heavy clouds filled the air as rain started to pour from the skies washing the blood of the fallen away, one by one, leaving nothing of the battle that took place, left...

"... where... am..."

Diego: You should rest, you still need to get your energy back... after all, you broke your left arm and your left leg in the fall...

"...The fall??"

Diego: Yes, the fall... Luckily for you, I rescued you, so consider us even...

"...How, what..."

Diego: You've been out for four months, and I'm not sure if you've been in a coma or if you-... Anyways, what matters now is that you're healing quite well, and you should be able to walk again soon, Link...

Link: ...

Diego: I told you not to do it, didn't I? You are good in swordsmanship, but you lack a thing or two... One of which is the right equipment...

Link: The right... equipment??

Diego: Yes... To be able to defeat him, you will need a legendary artifact...

Link: ...

Diego: It is called... The Master Sword...

Link: The Master Sword??...

Diego: I know, because I tried to draw it from its resting place, but I failed... I went up against his forces without it, trying to rescue the Princess on my own, but I was quickly overpowered...

Link: Who, are you, old man...

Diego: I already told you, my name is Diego-...

Link: No... Who you really are...

Diego: Sigh... I'm not that old you know, I'm only in my early 50s...

Link: You're avoiding my question...

Diego: I found this on you after I rescued you from those strong currents... Do you know what it is??

Reaching for an item on the table behind him, Diego held it up in the air in front of Link, whom immediately grabbed a hold onto it, yanking it out of Diego's hand.

Diego: I see your reaction skills are growing quite well... However, you should still take it easy for now boy, you don't need to push yourse-...

Link: That necklace belongs to me, you have no right to take it!!

Diego: Yes, yes, I'm sure it does... And I had no intention taking it back, I was merely safekeeping it for you.

Link: This necklace was given to me by the hero of the people, the masked man named-...

Diego: Zorro, yeah... I know a thing or two about him for sure... You said you recognized me in the castle kid, like you had a feeling we had met before...

Link: ...

Diego: What did you mean by that?

Link: I...

Diego: Come, I think it's time for you to stand up from this bed...

Reaching out for him, Diego quickly helped him up on his feet as Link gave off a heavy moan, having been bedside for almost four months consecutively...

Diego: Can you stand on your own feet??

Slowly letting go off him, Link almost had to hold himself onto a nearby wooden beam as he signaled Diego to give him some space.

Diego: Good, your bones heals quickly it seems, now, for some exercise...

[...]

Zelda: Are you sure that is a good plan??

Nexus: Yes, the changes in the castle's structure makes it harder to penetrate, but, it also makes it harder to escape. If this is really what you want Zelda, then that is indeed a possibility...

Darunia: You can't be serious, burning the castle down??

Saria: There might be no other choice, our numbers are few in comparison...

Nabooru: And the only way to draw their forces out, is by taking the battle to them...

Ruto: If we could burn it all down, the Monster tribes forces will all be trapped and burnt to crisp in the lava that now surrounds the castle beneath it...

Rauru: If we go through with this... The Kingdom will need a new Castle... We would need to rebuild...

Zelda: The castle is already lost, as far as I can see, there is no other choice, we will have to rebuild all the same...

Rauru: But if we could defeat their leader, we could end this right here and now. If a hero of time, a wielder of the Triforce of Courage could be chosen, and the Master Sword drawn from its resting place again, we could-...

Zelda: There are a lot of heroes around, but none deemed worthy in the eyes of the Gods... There hasn't been anyone capable of drawing that sword in ages Rauru, it's just a dream of the past... We don't even know who the leader of the Monster Tribes is, or if there even is one...

Rauru: Hmmm...

Nexus: This will however take time to prepare, a simple fire squad will not do, we will have to train some men and-...

Zelda: How long??

Nexus: And we will have to gather the right supplies for the fire-...

Impa: How long Nexus??

Nexus: At least three more months...

Zelda: Sigh...

Having gathered the seven sages and the rulers of the different tribes within her kingdom, the Princess of Hyrule and her forces were putting together a plan to overcome the dark forces' overwhelming numbers in one foul swoop. But, to be able to pull this off, they needed some preparation time, which would at least take three months...

[...]

Diego: Good, good...

Link: I'm starting to get a hang of this!

Diego: Do it again...

Having slowly but steadily been working himself back in shape, Link's two broken bones had now healed as he was being trained by Diego, going through different physical challenges, making his condition the best it could be and testing to see if everything was alright, after all, he hadn't been out of bed for four whole months... The two of them had hold up in some sort of grotto for the time being as the place was being lit up with torches hanging on the walls and the light coming through some cracks in the roof.

Diego: So, you think you're ready for a spare?

Link: Ah, finally, I've been waiting to show you how good I am with swords! Together with my brother, we're one of the best in the land-...

Diego: You're not the best until I say you are, you got that??

Link: Bold coming from an old man... But I'll show you...

Readying his defenses, Diego watched as Link came at him as he easily parried each attempt.

Diego: Very good! You have it in you I see...

Link: On the contrary Diego, it is you who have it in you! Heh, it's been months since I last wielded a sword... If I can't beat an old man like you, it's nothing to be impressed about! Again!

Having a spare match over and over again, Link was still not able to overcome Diego, as he started to question whether he was out of shape, or if this old man actually was a good swordsman, despite his age.

Diego: Hey kid, how much do you remember??

Link: How much I remember?

Diego: Yes, from the fall, and before that...

Link: I... It's clouded, but I think I remember some of it...

Diego: Like...

Link: Like... You refusing to try and take out the leader of the Monster tribes, after you found what you were looking for...

Diego: And where did it lead you?? Broken in half and barely alive...

Link: We could have taken him out together!

Diego: No... His powers were beyond us, beyond anything we could ever imagine, but I think, you might soon be ready for a second try, if you're up for it...

Link: A second try??

Diego: If... If, you're able to draw the sword that is...

Link: The sword again huh... So you know where it is??

Diego: Yes, I'll show you, once you're ready...

Link: And that is when exactly??

Diego: If you can't beat an old man like me, you surely are no match for him, hehe...

Link: Funny you should say that!

Diego: Oh, why is that??

Link: Do you really think I haven't figure it out yet?

Diego: Figured out what??

Link: This cave, the training ground, your swordsmanship at your age, the fact that you tried to rescue the Princess on your own, and none of my friends had heard of you... And then, you asked me about this necklace, the very same necklace Zorro gave to me before he disappeared into history... I said there was something familiar with you when I first met you in the castle, now I know what it is...

Diego: So you figured it out, did you...

Link: And that is why, I will defeat you, to prove that I can be the next hero of the people!

Diego: I like your confidence, but...

Going over to where the swords were, Link grabbed two of them as he tossed one to Diego and charged at him, only to get parried and get a knife to his throat with Diego's other hand.

Link: Ah-...

Diego: But like I said, you are not ready yet... Again.

*Three Months Later*

As time passed by, evil had already dug its thick roots deep into the land of Hyrule. Although the chaos had started to settle down a bit, and the battles had become less frequent, the face of evil was still around, and the heart of the kingdom, the castle of the Kings and Queens, was still in the hands of the enemies. Working on a plan to end it once and for all, the forces of the Princess of Hyrule had stumbled upon some difficulties, and not being able to pull through with the plan, could make removing the evil from the land, more impossible than ever before.

Zelda: I see, I see, well thanks for the updates Impa.

Impa: As always Princess.

Taking her leave from the presence of the Princess, Impa passed by Nexus on her way out, as he was on his way in, having a nervous expression on his face. Giving him a smile, she only seemed to boost Nexus' moral just a little as he came before the Princess.

Nexus: Zelda...

Zelda: Oh, it's you... So?

Nexus: Ehm... We seem to have encountered some difficulties...

Zelda: What do you mean??

Nexus: The right men has been trained and prepared, but... We still need some materials for the fire attack, and the Monster Tribes' forces have strengthened their defense around the castle all of a sudden...

Zelda: What do you mean??

Nexus: What I mean is that, for this attack to be successful, we should have...

Zelda: Yeah??

Nexus: Gone through with it at least a week ago...

Zelda: What?! Not only are you the Guard Commander and one of my most trusted men, but also one of the best tacticians I have around my forces... Are you saying it won't be done?? I trusted you with this mission, without it-...

Nexus: Pardon my rudeness for cutting you off, but there's more...

Zelda: More??

Nexus: Our resources are running short, and not many of the men wants to travel the necessary miles to retrieve them... The great forest around the east of Hyrule, near our base, is starting to become... affected by the evil... as if it has cast some sort of sickness over it... Over the course of the last ten days, we've already lost ten men in the darkness of th-...

Zelda: I've heard enough...

Nexus: !!

Zelda: What can be done?? You surely must have a plan B or somet-...

Nexus: I'm sorry my Princess, I've failed you!!... If you're displeased by my lack of actions, you can have my head!

Falling to his knees intertwining his hands in front of his face before the Princess, Nexus seemed to be heavily depressed by his own progress, as Zelda only looked baffled at him as she replied while going down to his height, grabbing a hold onto his hands.

Zelda: Your head sits perfectly well just where it is, my old friend, I would have nothing of it! Why would you propose such a thing?? Doing that would only add to the chaos! You did save my life all those years ago, and I would gladly put it in your capable hands again if necessarily.

Nexus: I... I...

Zelda: Come, rise to your feet solider...

Helping him up again, Zelda laid her right hand on his shoulder as a smile formed on her face while looking him into his eyes.

Zelda: So can the attack still be done??

Nexus: I... Well, it might work if the situation at the castle change, but we would still need more time and-...

Zelda: I understand... If time is what you'll need, you will have it.

As the two of them were discussing the fire attack plan, another guard came rushing in, demanding Nexus' attention.

Zelda: What is it Flinch? Can't you see we're in the middle of something?

Flinch: I'm sorry Princess, but it's kind of urgent... Nexus, one of the Talon and Ingo brothers' horses ran away.

Zelda: You came in to tell us that a horse ran away?!

Nexus: Wait... Which one?

Flinch: That's the strange part, it's your brother's old horse... Epona...

Nexus: What, Link's old horse ran away?! She would never do such a thing, unless...

Zelda: Unless what?

Nexus: ?! Did you see where it went?!

Flinch: No, I...

Nexus: I-... Damn... Princess, could I request permission to go look for it?

Zelda: Well... I don't see no harm, but don't you think it will return by itself?

Nexus: That's the thing, that horse doesn't go anywhere unless called upon... Maybe... Maybe my brother is...

Zelda: What, you think he's still alive after all these months??

Nexus: I don't know, but I have to make sure... Flinch!

Flinch: Yes??

Nexus: Ready a horse!

[...]

Diego: Not bad, not bad at all...

Having been training with Diego for the past three months, Link was now fully healed and was fit for fight again... This time for real. He might even had picked up a new trick or two, as he had finally been able to overcome him in a spare.

Link: Ahah! I knew I could do it eventually, *Pant*

Diego: It took you long enough, didn't it...

Link: Well, to be able to beat the Legendary Zorro himself, I mean, some swordsmanship is indeed required, haha...

Diego: Don't boast this win too highly kid, I'm not the one I used to be back in my days...

Link: Back in the days huh... Hey, may I ask you something?

Diego: Shoot...

Link: What really happened to you after the day the late Queen was killed? Where did you go...

Diego: I didn't go anywhere really, I only went back to what I used to do before...

Link: Oh yeah, drinking wine and enjoying the company of women??

Diego: Hah, don't be ridicules... I had a wife-... and a child once... But that was many years ago...

Link: Is that why you became the masked man?

Diego: In one sense yeah... Someone had to stand up against the chaos when others couldn't...

Link: So who trained you anyways??

Diego: I'm not the first to wear this mask...

Link: So there has been others??

Diego: Easy now, I don't want to spill all my secrets, haha, at least not just yet...

Link: I see I see... Did you know whatever happened to the leader of those thugs that attacked the late Queen's convoy anyways??

Diego: From what I heard, he was killed by one of his own men... And after that, the group broke apart... Some of them might still roam free to this date...

Link: Hmm... So, what happens now?

Diego: Now...

Link: ...

Diego: Let's do this again...

Link: Again??

Diego: Yes again... as in, another round...

Link: Diego, I've been doing nothing else than training with you for the past three months since my bones healed, and I've done nothing else than what you've told me to do, but now, now I want to find my brother to tell him I'm alive, it is time to fend off the great evil and bring peace to the land! Three month's ago, you said-...

Diego: I know what I said, but rushing out there will only get you killed prematurely, and if you die-...

Link: It's been three god damn months! You told me back then that I wasn't ready, but now, now I am!

Diego: Link, why would you-...

Link: And I'm going, with or without you, and there is nothing you can do to stop me...

Diego: Maybe there isn't... But... If you're going, you will need this...

Turning his back on Link, Diego holstered his sword on the wall as he went over to a disclosed chest. After opening it, Diego kicked it over to Link as he was coming over to him.

Link: ... Clothes??

Diego: Yes... I was out of black though, but I think green will fit you well...

Reaching down into the chest, Link pulled out a green tunic, with white pants and a light dim brown cape.

Link: You want me to wear this??

Diego: It doesn't include any mask though, but considering your standings with the Princess' armies, and the... need of a familiar hero these days... I don't think you will need one...

Changing the clothes, Link looked himself into a dusty old mirror as he had a rather... confused look on his face.

Diego: Neither did I find a hat fitting to this attire, but I suppose you can do well without one.

Link: Are you serious right now, you want me to wear this?

Diego: Yes.

Link: Seriously??

Diego: Yes... And, here, take this too.

Reaching for his pocket, Diego then pulled out a gold ring with a tiny red emerald on it as he tossed it to Link who immediately caught it mid-air.

Link: This is... There's something familiar with this ring, isn't there...

Diego: Why yes indeed, you helped me retrieve it, together with the rest of my attire before, don't you remember??

Link: I suppose, yes, but hardly...

Diego: It will come back eventually...

Link: Right then, I suppose I should take off...

Diego: Do you know where to look??

Link: I think so, yeah... What, you're not coming?

Diego: No, that was not originally my plan... but there's still something that I need to show you first before any of that...

Link: And that is?

Diego: You'll see... But for that, we'll need to find you a horse.

Link: Oh, that shouldn't be a problem, I have a secret way of calling mine to me, if it's still around that is, hmm...

Diego: Well then, let's not waste anymore time. Come, follow me.

As the two of them left the cave, they walked by a great waterfall as Link formed a smile on his face as his left hand went gently through the running water. Reaching out for his mouth with his right hand, Link gave off a strong whistling sound, almost like a tune, as Diego watched him carefully.

Diego: You'll be lucky if the horse is close by... If it's far away though, it probably won't hear you.

Link: Just watch.

And just as he predicted, a brown horse, with a white mane, tail and pawns came running towards them from around the nearby hill as it stopped by Link, greeting him, only this time, more energetically than ever before.

Link: Whoa, easy now Epona, you've missed me??

Diego: Now that's not a bad choice of a horse... I suppose it comes from the Talon and Ingo brothers??

Link: Yes, how did you-...

Diego: Zorro also picks his horses from the land's finest!

As he said, Diego turned to the side as he too reached out for his mouth and gave of a sound whistling, and just like before, another horse came running towards them; this one dark in color.

Link: That can't be-...

Diego: It sure is... Tornado, my old friend, ready for one last ride??

Tornado, whom was already in it's late 20s, closing in on the end of his lifespan, was as strong standing as always. Looking a bit older now than what he used to look 20 years ago, he was still a fast and powerful horse. Being about twice the size of Epona, Link had to scratch his head as the two of them mounted.

Diego: Well then, off we go!

[...]

Nexus: Flinch, are we close?!

Flinch: Yes I think so, if the tracks are as fresh as they seem to be, Epona seems to be headed towards-...

Nexus: Towards what?!

Flinch: The great Temple...

Nexus: What, the Temple of Time?!

Flinch: Yeah...

Nexus: Well then, I suppose that's we're headed... Let's go.

Taking off at great speed, the two of them were ever closer to a reunion with Nexus's, long-assumed-to-be dead, brother.

[...]

Diego: We're here...

Link: This is... I mean, I've heard of it, but I've never seen it in person...

Diego: In person? Well few has really... Come, let's head inside.

Getting off their horses by a rather large and powerful structure, the two of them entered through the main gate as a magical and soul piercing energy of relief, burden and responsibility hit them, all at once...

Link: Do you feel that??

Diego: Yes, this is not my first time here after all... The presence of the Master Sword is powerful indeed.

Link: So this is where the sword rests huh...

Stepping inside the great halls of the temple, Link and Diego came to the end of it, where three symbols stood on a wall, one green, one blue and one red.

Link: So...

Diego: Put your hand on it...

Link: Like this??

Putting his right hand on the wall, Link waited as nothing happened.

Diego: No, the other one... The one with the ring I gave you...

Link: Oh...

Switching position, Link then put his left hand on the red symbol in the middle of the wall as the wall suddenly began to rumble as it slowly rose from the ground, creating an opening revealing another room.

Link: Whoa... How did you... This ring...

Diego: Yes, I did tell you that I would tell you about it another time... Well the ring was given to me by the late Queen, as a symbol of being the greatest swordsman in the land and a hero of the people... It has been passed down in the royal family for ages, and now... Now it belongs to you. The key, to unlocking one of the secret chamber of the Temple of Time...

Link: One of them??

Diego: Yes... The temple was build ages ago, and it has many hidden secrets, yet to be revealed by ordinary men... In the chamber before you... That, is where the Master Sword rests.

Pointing ahead, a sword could be seen in the end of the other room as some sun-rays beamed through the few windows that was in it, high up in the ceiling, lighting up the place.

Diego: The sword is stuck into something called the Pedestal of Time, and only a hero chosen by the Goddess, a true and pure hero, can wield it... I did try to draw it once, like I told you before, but I failed... Maybe fate has it that you can.

Link: ...

Diego: The sword possesses magical powers, and with it, only then can the leader of the evil Monster Tribes be defeated...

Taking a few steps into the room in front of him, Link approached the sword carefully as he stepped onto the platform where the Pedestal of Time with the Master Sword in it stood. Slowly reaching out for it, the rays of the sun cracking through the windows above him shone upon his hand as he slowly laid his right grip around it, but as he did, his hand started to light up as a triangle of light was shown on the backside of it, lighting up the right bottom side of the symbol now beaming strongly on his hand. Coming up to him, Diego stopped beside him as had a puzzled look on his face.

Diego: What's that??

Link: I'm...

Looking closely at it, with his hand still firmly on the hilt of the Master Sword, some of Link's memories before the fall began streaming back to him.

*Flashback Begins*

"Diego... Where are you going??"

"Shouldn't be far now, we just have to sneak passed those guards..."

"Sneak passed them? Why don't we just-..."

"We shouldn't alert our presence more than we already have... Things are about to get ugly as they are..."

"How do you know??!

"Look..."

Peeking out from a corner, Diego pointed down the hall as both Link and himself could see several guards running in the direction they came from.

"What... You think something happened??"

"I'm not sure..."

"Wait, what if something happened to my brother... or what if something happened to the Princess?!"

"We have to make a run for it, now kid!"

"?!"

Leaping out from their hiding-place, Diego made a run for it as Link had no other choice than to follow. Going through a door, the two of them reached another staircase going even higher up into the castle as Diego proceeded to walk up it.

"Diego wait, are you sure you know where-..."

"It should be right up here..."

Reaching the top of the staircase, the two of them came into another hall, which had another staircase at the end of it. Walking to the side of the hall however, Diego stopped by a nearby chest as he opened it.

"What are you..."

"I couldn't leave without my attire, now could I... They took it from me when I was captured before."

Pulling out a completely black attire with a black cape, Diego then began to dress up as Link couldn't believe his own eyes.

"No... What... It's you... You're Zorro?!"

"Maybe..."

"No wait, so it was you all along?! I knew there was something familiar with you, I knew-..."

"Not so loud kid, you might draw some unwanted attention..."

Having put his famous black attire on, Diego then reached down in the chest again as he pulled out a mask and a ring, before shutting it close.

"I mean, where have you been for all these years?? What happened after that day, 20 years ago when the Queen was assassinated?!"

"Hmmm... So you were there that day huh..."

Putting the mask and the ring on, Diego then picked up a sword hanging on the wall beside it as he continued.

"I don't really want to talk about it..."

"Wha-... Ah, never mind... So was your attire so damn important that you had to come up here to retrieve it?? I mean, we abandoned the Princess for this?!"

"Don't be foolish, of course not... I have more spares back at-... The thing I came for was this ring..."

"Oh... So what's so special about it??"

"Maybe I'll tell you some other time, for now, let's get out of-..."

Suddenly, before Diego managed to finish his sentence, a loud rumbling noise was heard, as it was followed up by a large buzzing sound, before it all went quiet... Then, a melody was heard, as Link immediately recognized the instrument it was being played with.

"Is that an... organ??"

Having a loud and deep sound, the tune could be heard from every corner of the castle.

"Diego, you don't suppose that could be..."

"Link, was that your name?? Let's not wait around to find out..."

"What do you mean?! If that's where the leader of these evil Monster Tribes are, we can go up against him and end this! Once and for all-..."

"No, there's nothing we can do to stop him, if you go up there, it will be your doom..."

"What do you mean?! You're not backing off again, like you did 20 years ago?! I did not take you for a coward, Zorro!!"

"I'm not a coward you foolish child! We don't have what it takes to deal with him right now, not even with our combined might, we would need..."

"Wait, so you know who he is?! And what do we need?!"

"Damn it, I told you to lower your voice, you're only going to alert everyone of our presence shouting like that! We have to go, now!"

"No way! Not when we're this close! We had a chance at leaving before, but you decided to stay behind... Now I'm going up there, whether you like it or not!"

"Fine, let it be your doom then! I, for one, am out of here!"

Taking his leave, Diego then rapidly disappeared down the stairs they came from, as Link turned his focus on the stairs in front of him.

"Heh, coward..."

Starting to walk further and further up the never ending stairs, the music only intensified as Link came closer and closer to the top.

"Ugh... What is this... I fell so drained... Could it be a force-field or something? No..."

Having to catch himself from falling over by reaching onto one of the staircase's handrails, Link struggled to move forward.

"What's going-... on?!"

Almost having to crawl to the top floor, Link finally made it as a great iron door was all that stood left between him and the leader of the evil forces. Reaching for the handle, Link then forced the door open as it shut tightly behind him. In front of him sat a man shrouded in darkness with a black cape and a black hood over his head, playing on an orgel, great in size. The music had been intensifying more and more, until it suddenly stopped at the sound of the door closing behind Link, as a dark and powerful laughter was heard coming from the man in front of Link as he rose to his feet and turned around slowly. Only his mouth was visible as he had a vicious and evil smile upon it.

"...So, you have come... I've been expecting you... Link."

Link: Who are you, and how do you know my name?! Are you the leader of the Evil Monster Tribes?!!

"Who I am, and how I know... Now that, is not important right now, what is important... Is your Imminent death!!"

Link: ?!

Reaching his right hand out in the air and pointing it at Link, a powerful and dark wind began to blow towards Link as the lights coming from the torches in the room began flickering and the floor began rumbling. On the backside of the man's right hand glowed a triangle, and the top side of it beamed brightly. Before Link even knew what was going on, the man in front of him began gravitating in the air as a powerful shockwave went through the room, causing Link to fall over as his sword flew straight out of his hand. It was as if he was being lifted off the ground as he struggled to keep his touch with it. Slowly being dragged to the side, Link was headed for the large window at the side of the room as the man sent out a powerful roar, sending Link flying through the window, shattering it in the process, as he fell towards the river, several yards below him. Just as he lost touch with the ground and went smashing through the window, he caught a glimpse of the man's face as his hood had been blown off by the shockwave, and only seconds later, Link felt his body submerge into water as he hit several rocks while being dragged down the strong currents.

"Damn, another dead end... Perhaps if I head over to that window, maybe I can see a-?!"

On his way down, trying to find a way out of the castle without being spotted, Diego had hit another dead end as he turned around, walking over to a nearby window. Looking out of it, he saw a man falling through the air as he immediately knew who it was, and acted on instincts to try and save him.

"Shit, I told you not to go up against him kid! Damn, what do I do now, think, think...!!"

Taking a few steps back, Diego made a run for it as he jumped through the window and dived down into the river to get to him. Fighting the strong currents, he finally reached up to Link as he grabbed a hold onto him and managed to get him to the shore right before reaching a great waterfall, leading another several yards down into a great pool with lots of sharp rocks and a certain death.

"... You're still breathing... Since I couldn't stop you from trying kid, I'll at least try to save you while I still can."

Standing up to his feet, Diego gave off a sound whistling as a black horse came riding over to him. Almost as if helping him get Link on top of his back, the two of them rode off at the speed of light.

*Flashback Ends*

Diego: Hey Link... Link?!

Link: ?!

Diego: What is it, what did you remember??

Still standing in the great temple with his hand on the hilt of the Master Sword, Link almost seemed as if a bit lost as Diego tried calling out to him, as he had to slowly shake his shoulder to get through to him.

Link: The memories... They are starting to come back to me...

Diego: And??

Link: I think I might know who the leader of the evil Monster Tribes is...

Diego: So you know too huh... And I suppose, that is, the Triforce of Courage then, isn't it?

Gently laying his right index finger onto Link's hand, Diego gave it a few tap before he took a few steps back.

Diego: Draw the sword kid...

Link: What??

Diego: The sword... Draw it from the Pedestal of Time and become the new hero and its new wielder!

Taking another step forward, Link then put his other hand on top of the hilt as well as he put all his might into it and drew the sword, just like the Legend had foretold.

Diego: ?!

Link: Whoa... I did it??

?: Link?!?!?! You're-... alive?!

Link & Diego: ?!

Having drawn the sword, Link wasn't given much time to think things through as a familiar voice was heard coming from behind him. Turning around, it turned out to be no other than his very own brother Nexus, accompanied by one of his close friends, Flinch.

Link: Nexus?! Is that...

Not really knowing what to say, Link didn't manage to react before Nexus was up in his face, giving him a firm and long hug. Almost as if refusing to let go, Nexus finally agreed to as he took a steps back eventually. Holstering the Master Sword in his empty hilt, Link then proceeded.

Link: And Flinch too!

Going over to him, Link gave him a nice hug as both he and Nexus could barely believe their eyes.

Flinch: Good to have you back Link!

Nexus: But how, how is it possible??

Link: It's a long story...

Flinch: So who is this dude?

Link: This, is Diego... The one who saved me from certain doom...

Diego: From certain doom I doubt, but at least from drowning...

Reaching his hand out, Diego greeted the both of them as something in what he said sparked a memory in Nexus' mind.

Nexus: Wait, did you just say drowning?! When our forces left with the Princess seven months ago, I saw two people falling into the strong currents below the castle... Was that...

Diego: I believe so yes...

Nexus: And you saved my brother?

Diego: Well, that's one way to look at it...

Nexus: Well then you have my gratitude.

Going over to him, Nexus gave him a firm pat on the shoulder as he turned his attention towards Link again.

Link: So the Princess made it out of there alive then...

Nexus: Yes she did...

Link: Is your camp somewhere near here then perhaps?

Flinch: Yes, how did you else think we found you? Nexus immediately knew something was up when Epona suddenly ran away, so we tracked her down here, and I suppose we found more than what we could ever have hoped for.

Link: So that's how you found us...

Nexus: Well, I suppose we should head back, we have a lot to discuss.

Link: Right, show the way brother... Diego, are you coming or not??

Diego: I suppose I have no other choice now huh...

Leaving the great temple behind them, the four men rode off as the evening sun had started to settle behind the misty mountains. Not long after, they reached the allied camp, as they dismounted and tied up the horses. Walking by some camp-fires on the ground, several people rose to their feet and aborted their practices as they saw who Nexus and Flinch had brought with them.

Ingo: I suppose you are right brother, but what if-...

Talon: Flying dragons and raging fireballs, is that?!

Ingo: What, why do you always have to interrupt my counter arguem-...?!

Eagus: Aim a little higher cousin and you will surely...?!

Groose: What, you mean like this?? Hey! You weren't even watching, what's up with yo-...?!

Pipit: Sure thing Impa, I'll move the location of th-...

Impa: Pipit??

Pipit: Heavenly mother, I can't believe it... LINK?!

Impa: ?!

Running over to them, Link was quickly surrounded as no one could believe their own eyes. Due to the noise made by the cheering troops, even the Princess herself came out of her royal tent as she too realized what was going on. Quickly greeting his friends and allies, Link went through the crowd only to appear before the Princess herself.

Zelda: You... You're back...

Link: Princess... Ehm, I, Link, have returned to serve and fight for you once more!

Going down to one knee, Link reached his hands out in front of himself, folding them together, as he bowed down respectfully to her, only to be followed by the rest of the troops standing around. Seeing this, Zelda immediately went down to him as she grabbed a hold on to his hands and helped him up before she spoke again.

Zelda: Please rise Link... Please rise, all of you.

At her command, the rest of her troops rose as well as she continued.

Zelda: I may be your Princess, but a kingdom is nothing without its people... Today, one of us has returned from the dead, and with him, a signal of hope and glorious days to be followed. Let's celebrate his return, as every man and woman in this army stands equally, and together, we shall overcome the evil that has spread throughout our land!

Raising Link's hand in the air, the Princess received massive applaud as the troops began celebrating, feasting and drinking as Link went by his friends, one by one, and told them how he went up against the face of evil, how he miraculously survived and was saved by Diego, before his heart-breaking reunion with his brother. Quickly settling down, both Link and Diego were surrounded by good company as they discussed the events of the past few months. Going over to Impa, whom was standing by Nexus' side, was the Princess, as she had some questions she wanted to find out about.

Zelda: So Nexus...

Nexus: Yes, Zelda?

Zelda: Link... He's your brother, isn't he?? One of the few that snuck into the castle while I was captured and rescued me before he disappeared, right?

Nexus: That's right...

Zelda: And that man beside him... Diego I believe... There's something familiar with him... Do you know who he is??

Nexus: No, I haven't seen him before today, but Talon, Ingo and Pipit recognized him from that day at the castle... Apparently, he was captured by the Monster Tribes' forces as well, and he was with my brother when they rescued you...

Zelda: Yeah... Now that you mention it, your brother did go along with this man to help him retrieve something...

Impa: So why don't you go over there and talk to them?

Zelda: Talk to them, I...

Impa: Please, as your best friend over the years, I can easily read your mind, Zelda...

Zelda: What, no, I would never...

Nexus: What, what is it??

Impa: Could you give us a few moments Nexus?

Nexus: Yeah sure, I'll be over there if you need me.

Going over to the fire where Link stood, Nexus raised his glass into the air and held a toast in his brother's honor, before drinking up and giving him a nice hard hug as Talon, Ingo and the rest broke out in laughter, seemingly having a great time seeing Link back amongst their ranks.

Impa: Zelda... Come on, you don't have to hide it from me...

Zelda: There is nothing I'm hiding from you Impa, I...

Impa: I saw the look in your eyes when he returned, the way you looked at him... I've never seen you look at anyone like that ever before, and that speech...

Zelda: I said stop it Impa, I'm serious.

Almost as if walking away from her, Zelda then went into her tent as Impa quickly followed.

Impa: Why don't you go talk to him, get to know him a little better??

Zelda: I... I am the Princess, I have to make appearance...

Impa: Hah, even the Princess, soon to be Queen when all of this is over, needs a King you know...

Laying her right hand on her shoulder, almost as if poking her, Impa started laughing as Zelda's face only got more and more red, as she sat down in her chair, filling her cup with something more to drink.

Impa: Getting drunk isn't going to help you, haha, you're almost burning up, your face is all red!

Zelda: Hush, not so loud! It's just my allergic reaction to-...

Impa: You're not having any allergic reactions my dear...

Zelda: I... He's too old... Humph.

Turning her head to the side, Zelda seemed as if almost bothered by Impa's plea as she then laid down her glass and took a deep breath.

Impa: Fine... Well then I'll go ask him, and tell him that the Princess has requested an audience with him...

Zelda: You wouldn't dare-...

Impa: Watch me...

Turning her back on Zelda, Impa was gone from the tent before she managed to stop her from leaving, as she rose to her feet and covered her right hand in front of her mouth, almost as if nail-biting anxiously. Shortly thereafter, Link came in through the door as he dragged the opening to the side. As he did, countless other people snuck up to the tent as they all tried to eavesdrop on their conversation.

Link: Evening Princess, Impa said you requested an audience with me??

Zelda: I...

Link: Oh, something the matter? You look a bit re-...

Zelda: IT'S NOTHING!!

Link: ?!

Zelda: Gulp, beg my pardon, I didn't mean to shout, I-...

Link: Please, you are the Princess, you're allowed to do whatever you want...

Walking even closer up to her, Zelda felt as she had to back off as she tipped over and fell into her chair again. Just as she did, Link caught onto her arm as he helped her up again, dragging her close to him.

Zelda: Link-...

Not knowing what to say, his face came very close to hers, too close for her own comfort as she almost froze still on the spot where she was standing.

Zelda: Ehm... A little close perhaps...

Blushing even more, Zelda had a very gentle tone as Link let go of her hand and took a few steps back before he spoke again.

Link: Well, excuse me, Princes... My bad... So...

Taking a look around the tent, Link set his focus on a painting hanging up on the side of it as his attention rested on it for a bit before he continued.

Link: It was a nice speech you had earlier...

Zelda: ...

Link: Princess?

Not immediately getting a reply, Link turned around but the Princess was nowhere to be seen.

Link: Huh, did she leave-...

Zelda: No, I'm right here...

Out from behind a cupboard, Zelda then reappeared, only this time, she had a mask covering her face.

Zelda: Yes, well thank you, I suppose it was the least I could do...

Link: Yeah... Ehm, why the Keaton mask?

Zelda: Excuse me?

Link: The mask that looks like a fox or a mouse... Why did you put it on?

Zelda: Well this... Ehm... I don't know, I...

Link: Hehe, okay...

Zelda: What, something funny??

Link: No, just cute...

Zelda: *Blush*

Link: Oh, maybe I should be more formal, you are the Princess after all, I think I might be getting too comfortable here, so excuse me, Prince-...

Zelda: Don't apologize, you don't have to... Just call me Zelda btw...

Walking further up to him, she too looked at the painting in front of him as he recalled the person it represented.

Link: That's the late Queen, isn't it?

Zelda: Yes... She was my mother...

Link: Yeah...

Zelda: I know your brother was there at the day she died... He, fulfilled her dying wishes when... And he held them off long enough to keep me from harm's way.

Link: I know... I was there too...

Zelda: Oh, yeah... I suppose that makes sense...

Link: Mhm... I take it that this picture is old?

Zelda: Why is that? And yes you are correct, this picture was painted of her long before I was born...

Link: See that...

Pointing at the painting, Link's finger stopped at the late Queen's hand.

Link: That ring...

Zelda: That's one of the three emerald rings of Din, Farore and Nayru, The Golden Goddesses, the creators of the land and the ones that left the Triforce behind when they left this realm... My mother had Din's ring, the Ring of Power, representing Fire, I myself have Nayru's ring, the Ring of Wisdom, representing Water, and then there's Farore's ring, the green emerald Ring of Courage, representing Wind. The rings themselves doesn't hold much powers other than being symbolic really, and I don't really know where the green and the red rings are either... But it is said that there's some secret abilities to them and their keepers...

Link: You don't suppose this is the ring that once belonged to your mother??

Reaching his other hand out in the air, Link showed off the red ring Diego gave him as Zelda was quite surprised to see this. Explaining how he came into the possession of the ring and how he used it to gain access to an inner chamber of the Temple of Time only served to increase Zelda's curiosity.

Link: Not only did Zorro give me this ring, but he also gave me the necklace I'm wearing-...

Zelda: ?!

Link: Hmm, something wrong?

Zelda: It can't be?!

Link: What, what is it?!

Before she even managed to think to ask how Zorro got a hold onto the ring of her mother, she saw it... The Legendary Blade of Evil's Bane.

Zelda: That sword on your back... May I see it??

Link: Yeah sure, here...

Reaching for it slowly, Link gently drew it from its scabbard as he reached it out in the air, causing the light from the nearby torches to reflect in it. The moment he did, several guards stormed the tent, thinking he was going to tempt the Princess' life as Zelda quickly stepped in between them, telling the guards to stand down.

Zelda: Stand down, stand down damn it! He's just showing the sword off!! And how did you guys know anyways?!

Not really knowing what to say, most of the guards just mumbled some apologies as they took their leave, leaving the two alone again.

Zelda: Sorry about that, it's just that with everything that has gone down over the last year, my security has been... It wouldn't be the first time someone attempted my life, I-...

Link: I understand...

Zelda: Privacy is hard to get these days... So, the sword...

Going even closer to him, Zelda began to examine it while he was still holding on to it, as she could feel Link's warm breath going seamlessly through her hair and down her neck, as she looked up at him, meeting eye contact for a brief second before breaking off again.

Zelda: Kremt, ehm... This sword... It really is the True Master Sword, once known as the Goddess Sword... But how? Only the Hero of Time... The wielder of the Triforce of Courage can draw the sword... How is it that you have it in your possession?

Link: I'm not really sure actually... Diego showed me where to find it.. And I simply drew it...

Zelda: Diego... You simply drew it? Is that it? A selected few of my guards have tried to draw the sword, even your brother Nexus, but none of them have been able to, none of them have been deemed worthy in the eyes of the gods... So why you?

Link: Beats me... What matters now is... Well...

Holstering his sword gently again, Link accidentally touched Zelda's hand as he didn't know whether to let go or keep holding it. As he held it for more than ten seconds, it was as if time stopped still and none of them knew what to say, and it was then that it happened. Both their hands started beaming bright, as the triangle from before lit up on Link's right hand, but this time around, it also lit up on Zelda's hand, with the left bottom part of it beaming extra strong. It was then that she realized, that it was more than fate that had kept Link alive...

Zelda: The Triforce of Courage... So you do have it after all...

Link: Wait, what you have it too??

Zelda: No, this is the Triforce of Wisdom... The last one is the Triforce of Power, and together, they form the legendary artifact known as the Triforce... The Triforce grants anyone who touches it their wishes, but the one wishing upon it has to have a pure heart and an evened out balance between Courage, Wisdom and Power... If someone who only draws to one of the three or someone with a dark and evil heart touches it, the Triforce will be split in three upon their wishes, and the two remaining parts will seek out their rightful owners...

Link: ?! Now that you mention it... That man... His hand was glowing too...

Zelda: What man??

Link: The leader of the Monster Tribes...

Zelda: What, you know who he is?!

Link: No, I only caught a glimpse of his face before I was tossed out of the castle window and fell into the currents below... I have an idea of who he might be though... From the Legends of time...

Zelda: So he used the powers of the Triforce of Power on you?! Well that explains how you survived the fall from all the way up there, the last piece of the Triforce, the Triforce of Courage must have found its owner in you when you faced off against him, and it must have protected your fall to some degree...

Link: Yeah... Maybe you're right... So, what now?

Zelda: This changes everything... If you have the Triforce of Courage and the Master Sword in your possession, this might actually work...

Link: What will work?

Zelda: You'll see...

Link: Damn it, I'm tired of getting told by people that I will see, I want to know...

Zelda: Just trust me on this one, can you do that for now?

Link: I suppose, yeah...

Zelda: Good... I'll gather the troops at sunrise for further discussion... I suppose that will be all for now.

Link: Yeah... Wait, why did you summon me btw?

Zelda: Huh, what do you mean? So that I could talk to you of course...

Link: No, the real reason... It was only by coincident that I had the Master Sword and the Triforce of Courage, you surely didn't know that, and I doubt you just called me in to say hey, or?

Zelda: I-...

Turning around from him for a second, Zelda went over to her table as she reached for her cup once more as she started filling it up.

Zelda: It really was just that, you may leave now-...

But just as she turned around again to give Link a final toast before seeing him off, he was already all the way up in her face, almost pressing her up against the table as she had no place to go. Being totally derailed of what she was suppose to say, Zelda's hand started shaking as she felt his body pressing up against hers, unintentionally of course, as he grabbed a hold onto her hand to stop her trembling.

Link: At this rate, you're going to spill your drink Princess...

Zelda: I-... I said you could call me Zelda...

Pulling the cup out of her hand and placing it on the table behind her, Zelda felt as she had to lay her hands on his chest, to avoid falling over backwards on top of the table, as she didn't know what to say.

Link: I didn't really get to look on your face Princess, may I?

Reaching for the mask, Link had his right hand on the end of it as he started to slowly pull it aside, but before he managed to reveal her face again, she reached on to his hand with hers as she stopped him from doing so.

Zelda: Please, just...

Link: Why hide that pretty face of yours Princess? The last person around I saw with a mask was Zorro, but that was ages ago...

Zelda: I-... I-... Please... Don't, I-...

Not being able to hold back, Link gently pulled the mask aside as her face was revealed once more, just as red as it was before, as Link looked her straight into her eyes, tossing the mask aside.

Link: Is this okay? Not uncomfortable or anything, right?

Zelda: I-... I-... You-...

Link: That wasn't so scary, was it? Now why would you hide a beautiful face like that if I may say such a thing?

Zelda: ... Ehm... Ehm... I-...

Not knowing what to say, being all red and almost starting to sweat a little from her anxiousness, Zelda could only utter a few words as she continued to look at him. She was lost, she was cornered... She was the Princess of Hyrule, yet she felt so powerless right there and then, she didn't know what to say as his right hand gently touched her left chin. His warm hand on her cold skin, she felt like she was starting to get problem breathing, never had she felt so defenseless, so vulnerable before, not even when knowing that over a 100 guards stood outside the tent, ready to defend her at all cost. She felt so weak, yet so safe in his presence, who was this man, this man she had thought nothing off back at castle that day when she first laid eyes upon him while being rescued. Did everything happen so fast back then, or was it just his courage, his charm that reeled her in? Forming a smile on her face, he then finally said.

Link: Perhaps... You would want me to leave??

She didn't know what to say... She didn't know what she wanted... If she said yes, she would regret it later, but if she said no, it would put her in a position she knew she couldn't defend herself against. She was the Princess, she had her morals, her duties, her obligations, but wasn't she just another living being, wasn't she allowed to have her lusts? Was it wrong of her to think like this... All these thoughts went through her head, and she thought so hard on it, that she didn't even manage to come up with a reply as Link was already two feet away from her as he turned his back on her and said his goodbyes, wishing her a goodnight. She couldn't even say goodbye, or thanks, not a single word, she just stood there, until someone reached out for her shoulder and called out to her.

Impa: Zelda, Zelda?? So, what happened?

Zelda: I... I think I let him go...

Impa: What?? Haha, not even a kiss of goodnight?

Thinking back, her thoughts finally settled, she could see clear again as she saw him reaching up to her, kissing her on the chin as he said goodnight, before he left out the door... But that was not the kiss she wanted... The kiss she desired... She was the Princess, but could she demand it? Even more thoughts went through her mind again, as she seemed almost star-struck.

Impa: A kiss on the chin?? Really...

Zelda: Yeah... Ehm...

Impa: Geez... I get it that you are suppose to keep appearance, but you are almost 21 years old Zelda, for heaven's sake, you can't stay a virgin forev-... Mumph...

Hearing what Impa had to say, Zelda immediately reached her hand out as she placed it over her mouth, unabling her to finish her sentence.

Zelda: Please don't...

Impa: ...Sorry...

Zelda: Huff... Guess I will have to go out there to see how things are before bed...

Impa: Right, let's head out...

[..]

Eagus: Bwuhahaha, really now??

Diego: Yes, yes, he was quite stubborn to get back here as soon as he stood up on his legs again, but those legs wouldn't carry him anywhere, at least not for another few months...

Pipit: That's Link alright, always pushing himself...

Groose: Well, if the two of you had just went with the rest after you saved the Princess, I suppose nothing of this would have happened...

Diego: I suppose you're right, but that we will never know...

Talon: But faith has brought him back, and together with a new friend! That is all that matters now.

Ingo: Indeed! A friend of Link is a friend of us! Say old man, don't we recognize you from somewhere??

Talon: Yeah, there's something familiar with you...

Diego: Yes, that might be true... You are the Talon and Ingo brothers, former ranch keepers, right?

Talon: Yes, indeed, one of the finest there was!

Diego: Haha, I think I might have bought a horse from your father or your grandfather back in the days, maybe you've seen me as one of your customers...

Ingo: Could be, could be indeed.

Nexus: Ah Link, there you are, what took you so long? I mean, everyone gets an audience with the Princess from time to time, but an hour?? That's new...

Link: Well, I guess the Princess had much to discuss... Besides, I took a stroll around the camp before returning here...

Eagus: With you? And what could that be about??

Link: Like the Princess said, you will see in the morning...

Nexus: Hehe, well then, I suppose we will have to wait... But for now, some sleep should be necessary if we're going to be fit for tomorrow... I would love to chat all night brother, but there are bigger things at hand than the two of us reuniting... Glad to have you back though.

Getting up to his feet again, Nexus gave Link a pat on his shoulder as he left the fire-place and went over to Impa before the two of them went over to their tent. Not long after, both Eagus and Groose went as well, before Pipit was the next to go. All that was left in the end was Talon and Ingo, that were already dead drunk, singing and fooling around, and Diego, but even he felt it was time as he gave Link a nod before heading over to the tent he had been given. Looking deep into the fire, Link knew it was time to go as he bid farewell and goodnight to the two brothers before standing up to his feet and slowly walking over to his tent. Once there, he got undressed as he laid down beneath the blanket, slowly closing his eyes. He hadn't managed to fall asleep though when he heard someone sneaking around outside his tent as he got up to his knees, preparing his defense. As the door on the tent slowly went to the side, Link grabbed onto the person on the other side and dragged him inside as he place a small dagger on the person's throat, ready to finish the job if it was proved to be the enemy.

Link: Who are you, and why are you sneaking up on me like this?! Speak now or-...

"Please don't, It's me..."

Link: PRINCESS?!

Recognizing her voice, Link realized that it was not a he that has snuck up on him, but rather a she, and that it was none other than the Princess herself that he had threatened with a dagger. In complete shock, Link threw the dagger away and bowed down before her, starting to apologize massively, knowing that threatening the Princess' life could lead to imminent death.

Zelda: Calm down, calm down Link...

Reaching out for him, she tried to get his face up from the ground, but he would not budge as he continued apologizing to his heart's content. Seeing no other options around, Zelda grabbed a hold onto him as she slapped him across the face.

Zelda: Would you just-... You were just defending yourself, I wasn't-... I should have-... If anything, it's my fault...

Link: I... So what are you doing here anyways?!

Zelda: I-... I wasn't-...

Link: Well??

Zelda: I-... Don't remember...

Link: What do you mean you don't remember?!

Zelda: Hush, not so loud, if anyone notice I'm gone from my tent, they will-...

Link: The only reason I could think of is-... Or...

Zelda: What??

Link: Nothing...

Zelda: Say it...

Link: No...

Zelda: As your Princess, I demand that you tell me...

Link: Heh, fine... The only reason you would be sneaking around in the middle of the night like that, ending up in my tent in your sleeping robe, is if you wanted to...

Zelda: Yes?

Link: Heh... Hahaha, why would you else have come here??...

Zelda: Does it matter?

Link: Yes, what if I don't want to...

Knowing well what both of them were referring to, Zelda could only blush at his content.

Zelda: What... You don't find me attractive then?...

Link: Are you kidding me, you're the most beautiful person I've ever seen...

Zelda: Then what...

Link: I want you to tell me why you came yourself...

Zelda: I have no obligation to tell you anything...

Link: Well fine then, you can escort yourself out...

Zelda: What?! Are you throwing me out??

Link: What if I am...

Zelda: You almost claimed my life, and suddenly you think you are the King?! If I wanted, I could get you executed right here and now...

Link: Gulp...

Zelda: Is that what you want?

Link: I... You wouldn't...

Zelda: Try me...

Link: ...

Zelda: Alright, how about this...

Link: Hmm...

Zelda: You would do anything I say, right?

Link: Anything might be stretching it, but yeah I gue-...

Zelda: Kiss me....

Link: Huh??

Zelda: Like you did before, only this tim-...

Again Link seemed to take her words into action as their lips connected before she was able to finish her sentence.

Zelda: ...

Link: There, you happy?? For the record, you didn't have to ask me though... Now are you satisfied? The door is still right there you know...

Laying down on the bed again, Link proceeded as if he was going to sleep, but it didn't take long before he opened one of his eyes again as he realized she was still just sitting there. Getting up on his back, he just stared at her, realizing she was already lost in her own mind. Waving his hand in front of her face, Link didn't seem to get no reaction, as he slowly shook his head.

Link: You are the Princess, I am but a solider... If you want my life for yourself you can claim it, if you want to take my life, you can do so as well, but just demanding things won't work, even though I don't have the power to refuse you... You got that??

Zelda: I... What??

Link: Ah, come on, it wasn't that great! Am I the first guy you kiss or something??

Grabbing a hold onto her face again with both his hands, Link stared right into her eyes as he finally got her attention again.

Link: What do you want me to say? Really, I'm still not sure what you want. I know one thing for sure though, that if you're going to blush every time I say hey to you, we're never going to get anywhere with our conversation. Now, are you going to sit there all night and freeze until you get a cold, or are you going to join me under this blanket and get warm? If the latter, then make up your mind, it is indeed getting la-...

Zelda: Silly you, just... be quiet for a minute...

Grabbing a hold onto the warm hands holding her face, Zelda then leaned over him as she began kissing him on her own premiss this time around.

Zelda: Is this okay with you??

Link: Okay with me? I think you should be asking yourself that question.

Zelda: Damn it, can't you just pretend I'm not the Princess and give me a straight answer?!

Link: So... You want to have ***, is that it??

Zelda: ?!

Link: What, if not, then I don't really understand why you're here...

She couldn't have begged for it more, but she did not think he would say it straight out like that. Being totally out of words, she could only reach out her face closer to his again as she gave him another gentle kiss.

Link: ... So that's a yes then??

Turning her over on her back, Link began kissing her passionately as he slowly started to remove her clothes.

Guard: The Princess!!! The Princess is missing!!

Even before the sun had managed to wake up properly, the guards had already discovered that the Princess was nowhere to be found. Running around the camp, searching up and down, everyone was alerted as the whole place was turned upside down in chaos. People even started thinking she had been kidnapped again or ever worse, as Nexus woke up from the noise, got dressed, as he ran over to Link's tent, shouting from outside telling him to gear up.

Nexus: Are you awake in there?! Link, you need to get up, the Princess is missi-...?!

Not waiting around any longer, Nexus grabbed a hold onto the opening as he dragged it aside. Looking inside the tent, a rather surprising, yet relieving sight met his eyes. It wasn't as much that he was satisfied his brother had scored the Princess, but it was knowing that it all was a false alarm as he let go of the curtain and shouted out to some other guards that it was only false alarm and that the Princess had been found. Like fire on dry grass, the rumors started spreading around the camp in no time, and by the time everyone had woken up, anyone with an ear or two on their heads knew what had happened the night before. Some thought it was cool, others found it irritating that someone whom only just had returned, was able to pull off something like that without getting punished. Back in Link's tent, the two of them finally woke up, unbeknownst to the sounding alarm that had gone off a couple of hours earlier.

Zelda: *Yawn*... Hey, are you awake?

Link: Oh, it's morning already...

Zelda: Ehm... I hope you don't think that I'm-...

Link: Are you kidding me? Your approach could have been a bit clearer, but...

Zelda: But what?

Link: I like you, hehe.

Zelda: Heh, you silly fool...

Link: Well then, time to get up I guess...

Zelda: I don't want to... Just a little longer...

Link: You have troops to address, you are the Princess after-...

Zelda: I don't care, I can do what I like...

Link: Tch, Oh really now....

Zelda: Yes... Watch me...

Link: Bah! You're quite arrogant... Where did this sudden boost of confidence come from??

Zelda: Silly you, don't say such things...

Leaning over at him, she started kissing him again as Link knew he could not resist her approach. Putting the fact that she was the Princess of Hyrule aside, Zelda was really the kind of girl he could be looking for if he were on a lookout for one, but at the same time, with everything that had happened since he returned, it all seemed a bit too surrealistic for him to begin to grasp. About an hour later, the two of them had finally woken up as well as Zelda gathered the troops for her speech. This time though, it kind of felt a bit different, as most people was looking over at her, then over at Link, then over at her again, as if signaling that they all knew, even though she hadn't told anyone and made sure to sneak out from Link's tent before anyone could see her... How could they know??

Zelda: *Kremt*...

Trying to gather her thoughts, ultimately realizing that most people knew, Zelda could only think to use this to her advantage as she was panning out what to say. Over by Link's side, Diego reached out to him.

Diego: So... Was it worth it?

Link: What do you mean?

Diego: In bed with the Princess... I'm not sure whether to say that is a great feat or the dumbest thing you could have done...

Link: Haha, you always worry too much... So how was your night?

Diego: Decent enough I suppose...

Link: So you are staying then?

Diego: Like I said earlier, for now at least. Plus, someone got to watch over your back after all.

Link: Oh shut it old man, haha...

Diego: Heh, you are still young and got much to learn, just remember that kid.

Link: Hey there's one thing I wanted to ask you about... This necklace you once gave me, does it mean anything? I mean, since you asked me about it while I still had trouble remembering, I suppose it must hold some value of sort.

Diego: In one way yeah... Can't be bothered saying too much about it though, but all I can say is that the necklace stands for Wisdom and Fortune... It is said that whomever wears it is granted luck beyond imagination... That would explain how I managed to be Zorro for as long as I used to, how you survived that fall and how you... Well, scored the Princess...

Link: Hah! That last one has nothing to do with this necklace old man, but I suppose the other parts of it might be true... To some extent...

Diego: Whatever you say my friend...

Leaning back to his position, Diego then changed his view forward as Zelda finally had managed to gather herself and come up with something to say.

Zelda: Okay, ehm... You guys are probably wondering if our plans have come any nearer to fruition, and if we are getting any closer to claiming the castle back and reclaiming our kingdom... For that, I'll let my Guard Commander Nexus take to words, if you would be so kind...

Looking over at Nexus, Zelda was as if implying that he had something to say.

Nexus: ...

Not really understanding what she meant, he stood up from his chair and walked over to her as he stopped by her side. Moving up to him, Zelda slowly whispered some words into his ear as he nodded correspondingly before taking to words.

Nexus: Okay, ehm, the situation at the castle is still unchanged after the Monster Tribes decided to strengthen their defenses all of a sudden about a week or so ago... And we are indeed running low on resources... However, we do indeed have a plan, a plan that now seem more likely to be successful than ever before! Fellow troops, I ask you to take this day off and gather your strength, because starting tomorrow, we will march on the castle!!

Reaching his arm out in the air, countless of the troops roared massively in excitement, but there was not to hide that some of them seemed a bit puzzled about the sudden idea to attack straight forward, without any details on how they were suppose to overcome the overwhelming forces that stood before them, but, they knew better than to question the command of their leaders, and therefore, the muttering settled before it became too wide-spread. A few minutes later, Nexus came into the Princess' tent, almost as if demanding her attention, as Impa rapidly followed.

Impa: Nexus wait, don't-...

Nexus: Princess, we need to talk.

Zelda: What is it Nexus??

Slowly turning around, Zelda looked at him with a strong calmness over her.

Nexus: What you told me before... You want us to attack head on, with no plan at all?? It will only lead to suicide! If we could only get the Fire-Attack going, we would be able to-...

Zelda: Do you trust me Nexus?

Nexus: Zelda, I-...

Zelda: I do have a plan, and it is indeed going to work. It's just that I can't go into the details right now... Trust me, it will be better this way...

Nexus: If you say so... But sooner or later, you will have to start talking to me, as I'm not leading my men into certain doom.

Zelda: I understand that, and neither would I have you do so...

Link: What's all the noise about??

Having passed by the tent, Link realized something indeed was going on as he too came inside.

Nexus: Everything is good, nothing to worry about brother.

Turning around, Nexus gave Link a pat on the shoulder as he signaled Impa to walk out with him. Not long after, Link spoke again.

Link: So Princess, do you really have a plan?

Zelda: Yes I have...

Link: And what might that be??

Pausing for a second, a smile formed on Zelda's face as she uttered some words that Link was quite astonished to hear.

Zelda: You...

Link: Me?! What do you mean by-...

Zelda: You appearing here with the Triforce of Courage and the Master Sword in your possession, a man long assumed to be dead, suddenly comes back with all the right tools to defeat the great evil that confines our land. If it wasn't the gods themselves that answered my prayers and sent you here, then who?

Link: I'm not really sure if I'm following you here...

Zelda: You have the sword, the only sword known to be able to harm and vanquish such evil, you are as the Legend has foretold, the boy in green, the Hero of Time...

Link: ...

Zelda: The main forces will draw the attention of the opposition while the two of us alone will sneak into the castle. Once there, you will defeat their leader and end this once and for all...

Link: Ehhhh?! I don't know who you may think I am Princess, but I'm certainly not capable of doing such a thing! I already went up against him once, and-...

Zelda: Not without the Master Sword you didn't... The blade of Evil's Bane is the only weapon capable of killing him, or weakening him enough to seal him away for good...

Link: If we are going to pull this off, we will need more men with us...

Zelda: Hmmm... Like?

Link: The same as last time we entered the castle... Or at least the ones that remain of us.

Zelda: I don't think that is such a good idea, too many people will draw too much attention...

Link: But...

Zelda: Trust me on this.

Link: Sigh... Okay. Well then, guess we will talk later.

Preparing to leave the tent, Link had almost managed to step outside when Zelda called out for him.

Zelda: Wait... Is that it??

Link: What do you mean?

Slowly turning around again, Link looked upon her with a puzzled face.

Zelda: Aren't you going to say anything about last night... about us?

Link: What is there to be said?

Zelda: What do you mean? So it all didn't matter?

Link: I didn't say that... What I mean is, what is there to make of it all?

Zelda: I thought-...

Link: Well, excuse me, Princess, if I'm not the man you like to think I am...

Bowing respectively before her, Link then proceeded to take his leave as he left her tent and went over to some guards standing by the end of the cliff-side they were camped upon as his brother was there with them, admiring the view.

Nexus: ...And tomorrow, this land shall once again belong to us...

Link: Brother...

Nexus: Oh it is you Link... May you guys excuse us for a moment?

Telling the other guards to leave them alone for a bit, Nexus then changed his attention towards his brother.

Nexus: So what's up??

Link: It has gone seven months already since we rescued the Princess, since I... fell in battle... And it is like nothing has changed...

Nexus: I know what you mean... Ever since that day, the Princess has been desperate looking for ways to claim back our kingdom... She even instructed me with a task, but that seems to be impossible to pull through with, and now all of a sudden, she suddenly has a plan and she won't even tell me about it, as if I'm going to lead my men to their death... I just don't get what she possibly could be planning... She hasn't told you anything, has she??

Link: No, I...

Not knowing what to say, Link chose to remain silent regarding the Intel he had as he came closer to his brother and stared down the mountain-side with the great castle some miles ahead of them in the distance, covered in darkness, lit up by the hot lava now surrounding it at all sides.

Link: So tomorrow then... Looks like I was just in time for the final battle...

As the hours passed by and day became evening, the troops had lit a great fire in the middle of their camp as people were playing music and dancing, having a great night, as if it was their last one to be had. Standing by the fire watching her forces having a good time, Zelda seemed to be quite content on what she had in store for the next day, as Link came over to her as he reached out his hand, laying it onto her shoulder to gain her attention.

Link: May I ask you for a dance, Princess??

Zelda: So now you want to get close to me??

Link: It's just a dance my dear... May I?

Still lingering his hand in the air, Zelda saw no other option than to grab a hold onto it as more and more people started to turn their attention towards the two of them as Link went over to the orchestra's principal, whispering something into his ear before returning by Zelda's side.

Link: I do take it that you can handle something more robust than what has been displayed this evening??

Zelda: On the contrary Link, I am a woman who was a very spiritual dancer in my youth, and there's no dance that is too robust for me...

Link: Yet, you are still very young my Princess... Alright, here we go.

Moving elegantly to the tune that was being played, the two of them lead each other around the ground beneath them, as if they had been doing nothing else than dancing for the past couple of months. Rapidly moving their feet along the ground, Link swung Zelda around a few times before taking her close to himself, grabbing a hold onto her left foot with his right arm. Swinging slowly around, Zelda then stretched her left arm out in the air, as they were swinging faster and faster in a circle pattern as people looked at them eyes-popping, baffled by their combined display. Slowing down their movements, Link then drastically dragged her close to him again as he tossed her a few feet up into the air, catching her again before leaning her slowly backwards as the crowd was cheering loudly. Not knowing what to say, the people around them could do nothing else than to applaud as the dance came to an end.

Zelda: *Pant* I didn't know you were such a courageous dancer Link...

Link: I suppose that's not the only thing you don't know about me... Thanks for the dance, Princess.

Bowing respectively before her, Link then stepped back into the crowd as the dance from before continued as people resumed their past movements with their partners of choice.

Nexus: Heh, if I didn't know you better, I would state that you might be pushing it a little, don't you think?

Link: Nah, just a little perhaps... So how is it with you and Impa these days anyways? I suppose a campsite like this doesn't offer much privacy...

Nexus: It is okay I suppose, but not much bragging about...

Link: I see... Well hopefully starting tomorrow, we might change that.

As evening became night, most people had already gone to bed, knowing well that the day they had in front of them could turn out the be the most important one in their lives, in the lifetime of the kingdom. Having consulted the seven sages as well as the different tribe leaders of her kingdom, the Princess had then lead her troops to a nearby cliff the day after, leading straight down to the side of the castle. The final war was approaching, and as destiny and the gods had foretold, a hero would rise to save the land. But, would it all end happily ever after??...

Link: Damn, what have they done with the castle... It's completely surrounded by lava...

Eagus: Yes, I don't think there is much left to salvage from it, however, this is indeed the base of the enemy, and if we can deal with them once and for all, we have the opportunity to start over...

Groose: So how the hell are we suppose to break through the gates?? The only way in I see is through the main gate, across that bridge...

Pointing down to the only bridge connecting the castle with the outside-world, Groose had a puzzled look on his face.

Pipit: Seems like it...

Talon: Can't we just blow the bridge up and be done with it?

Ingo: Now that you mention it, that could indeed be a possibility...

Flinch: Blow the bridge up?! With what may I ask?? Look at its size... There is no firepower in this world capable of doing that...

Impa: Flinch is right...

Link: But there is another way...

Zelda: Indeed, we just have to buy enough time...

Nexus: Buy enough time? What do you mean?

Finally laying her plan out to Nexus and the others, Nexus fell almost completely in shock, realizing how dangerous that plan was and how unlikely it was to succeed.

Nexus: No way, there is no way only the two of you will go in there, especially now sinc-...

Zelda: It is as the gods have foretold, you will just have to trust me on this one and lead your men to battle to buy us enough time. This will work, it has to...

Diego: Well if the two of you are going in there, then Link, you will need this...

Link: What's that?

Diego: My whip of course... I suppose you will know what to do with it when the time comes...

Reaching it over to him, Link gladly accepted the gift as he thanked him accordingly and turned his attention towards the castle again.

Zelda: Are you ready to do this Link??

Link: It's now or never I suppose...

Zelda: Right...

Nexus: Whatever happens Link-...

Link: I know.

Going over to him, Nexus gave him a firm hug as he turned around, signaling the troops to attack. Storming down the hill, the front gate slowly began to open up as several different monsters of the Monster Tribes came rushing out across the bridge to face them, including some foul mountain trolls, giant spiders, sword-wielding lizards, skeleton warriors with large axes and shields, countless grunts of Moblins and Bokoblins, and much much more.

Zelda: Get closer to me...

Still standing on the hill, Link and Zelda watched as the two forces clashed together, being led by Link's brother, Nexus, as he walked up to her.

Zelda: Grab around my waist.

Link: What??

Zelda: Just do it...

Not seeing any reasons not to, Link did as she said as Zelda started playing a tune on her ocarina that she had brought with her. As she did, a bright light began to beam around them as the two of them disappeared in thin air.

Nexus: Eagus, behind you!!

Being locked in battle, the allied forces of the Princess were fighting bravely despite being heavily outnumbered as a giant mountain troll swung his club towards Eagus whom just barely managed to dodge it in time, only thanks to Nexus heed of warning.

Eagus: That was too close! Thanks Nexus.

Standing back to back with each other, the two of them chopped down several incoming monsters as blood and gore spilled everywhere.

[...]

Link: *Hark, Hark* Where on earth are we??

Reappearing in a dark room, Link and Zelda fell to a hard ground as Link rose to his feet, helping her up in the process. Brushing off the dust on their clothes, Zelda then walked over to a wall as she laid her hand on it.

Zelda: Come over here already, I need you as well.

Link: What do you mean??

This is a secret doorway that can only be accessed by the bearer of the rings of power, wisdom and courage... At least two of the rings needs to be utilized for this to work, and to get into this room that we are now standing in, you need to use the Ocarina of Time, an ancient old instrument with magic powers...

Link: ... Didn't Impa have one of those as well?

Zelda: Not exactly, but close enough I suppose... Come.

Grabbing a hold onto Link's hand, Zelda laid it on the wall in front of them together with her own had as the two rings began to light up as a red and blue fire erupted from them, touching the wall as it began to sway back and forth, as if being made by some liquid material.

Zelda: Now!!

Link: ?!

Still holding onto his hand, Zelda then jumped through the wall as she dragged Link with him. Landing into another room, Link didn't know what to say as the wall behind them stopped shaking and turned into solid material again.

Link: That was...

Zelda: We're in... Now Link, I'm counting on you.

Letting go of his hand, Zelda drew a long broadsword that she had by her side as she readied herself for battle. Seeing this, Link as well reached out for the Master Sword, resting on his back, as they both had a determined look on their faces.

Zelda: Before we go any further, there's something I have to show you...

Link: What is that??

Leading down the hallway, the two of them barely avoided some incoming patrols as Zelda entered a tight room, seemingly being some sort of arsenal or something. Looking around, she finally found what she was looking for as Link came up to her.

Zelda: Here, take this.

Handing over some sort of shield, Link then grabbed a hold onto it as he studied the motives and the symbols on the front side of it.

Link: This shield... Why does it look so familiar?? What's so special about it?

Zelda: This is the Hylian Shield... It's one of the most resistant and powerful shields there is. With it, your defenses should be greatly increased.

Link: I see... Well, I suppose I'll need anything and everything I can land my hands on to pull through with this.

Zelda: It is time... Let's go.

Leading out of the room, Zelda then went down another corridor as the two of them came close to a staircase. Walking up it, they then came into another room with another staircase at the end of it.

Link: Wait, this is...

Zelda: Yes, we are close now...

*Rumble, Rumble, Rumble*

As the two of them slowly approached the staircase in front of them, the whole castle began rumbling intensely as some pictures on the walls fell to the ground, flames from nearby torches began swaying vigorously back and forth in the air and the ground was hard to walk straight on. To top it all, a loud and heavy music began playing as every corner of the castle shook wildly.

Link: Same as before... That means-...

Zelda: Link, this might be the last time I get to say this, but-...

Link: It's okay, I know what it is that you have to say... You have a heavy pressure on your shoulders, I get that, and I-... I'm just fulfilling the command of the kingdom's
soon to be Queen...

Zelda: That is not it... I might not have known you for a long time, but I never got to thank you... Thank you for rescuing me, and thank you for doing this, I-...

Link: Just doing what must be done... Doing what I am obligated to, Princess...

Zelda: Link...

Link: Yeah??

Zelda: If we only didn't have to do this... I'm-... I feel like I have to...

Link: Leave it... We can talk when all this is over... Come, let's head upstairs and finish this once and for all...

Forcing themselves forward up the stairs, Link held his shield firmly in his left hand and his sword tight in his right. Walking behind him, Zelda had to cover her face as strong shockwaves of wind blew down the stairs as some of the windows on the side of the walls began to shatter because of it. As they got closer and closer to the top, the music only intensified, playing faster and faster, louder and louder, until they were at the metal door, which Link immediately recognized as the final barrier between themselves and one powerful enemy. Forcing it open, the two of them barely made it inside as it was shut down tightly behind them. In front of them, as before, a hooded man sat, playing the organ... The large window that Link had been tossed through before had been fixed, but this time it had large razor-sharp spikes coming out from them. Walking slowly forward, with Zelda right behind him, Link stopped in the middle of the room as the man in front of them finally stopped playing.

"..."

Getting up to his feet, The man began to turn around slowly as he walked a few steps down towards them, stopping only a few feet away from Link and Zelda. Still not revealing his face, only a vicious smile could be seen, as the man slowly grabbed a hold onto his hood, lifting it off to reveal his face.

"... So, you are back to try again huh kid... Interesting indeed... How did you survive that fall?? Hah, doesn't matter... This time, I will make sure to finish the job..."

Reaching for his back, the man grabbed a hold onto two swords that he had holstered as he drew them slowly from their containers. Preparing his defenses, Link was more ready than ever before as the evil man before then laughed out loud, dragging one of his feet backwards getting into some sort of stance.

"... Are you sure you want to do this... Link..."

Link: ...

"...And who is that cute girl behind you?? I take it that it must be Zelda, the Princess of Hyrule..."

Zelda: So you know...

"Of course..."

Link: Zelda, stay back, don't get in harms way if you can resist it.

"So you think you can take me on all alone?? I, Ganondorf, the Great King of Evil?! Bwuahahahaha, BWUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!..."

Emitting a powerful shockwave, Ganondorf began to gravitate in the air in front of them as both Zelda and Link were pulled backwards.

Ganondorf: Can't you two get it?! I am unbeatable, invincible!

Zelda: Ganondorf?! But you were slain by the hero of the old?!

Ganondorf: Slain?! Me?! Bwuhah!

Reaching his hand out, a powerful ball of lightning began to intensify in his right hand as it ran down his right sword before he sent it off at great speed towards them. Barely managing to get his guard up, the electrified ball hit Link's shield with a powerful force as he was knocked backwards, tipping both himself and Zelda over on their backs. Following up with another attack, Ganondorf reached both his swords up in the air, as the tips of the swords met together, forming a massive ball of lightning above him.

Ganondorf: Who are you, offspring of the hero of the old, thinking you have anything to pull against me, against the Great King of Evil? You are nothing, nothing compared to him, nor his predecessor... No one can stop me now!!

Sending off the attack at great speed, Link saw no other option than to push Zelda to the side, using his shield once more to defend, only to get blasted backwards, hitting the wall behind him.

Link: Ugh!!

Zelda: Link!!

Ganondorf: Ahahahahahaha, Bwuhahahahaha, pathetic!!

Following up by creating even more electrified balls before him, Ganondorf sent several of them flying towards Link as he danced and spun around in the air, firing off the balls with his swords. Having seen Link smash against the wall previously, Zelda ran up to him, only to get pushed to the side again as Link tossed his shield towards her, readied his sword with both his hands as he swung it at each of the balls, causing them to deflect and crash into the walls on his sides. One of them was even swung back at Ganondorf whom used his swords to block it.

Ganondorf: The Master Sword... So it still exists after all these years... To think a mere boy like you can wield it... Ugh?!

Letting down his guard for a second, Ganondorf failed to see that Zelda had brought a bow with her as well as she fired off an arrow that seemingly was inflicted with some sort of magic. Hitting him dead on, Ganondorf fell to the ground as both of his swords landed beside him.

Zelda: Now Link!!

Link: !!

Realizing the opening she had caused by her attack, Link charged in at Ganondorf only to see him get back up on his feet, pulling the arrow that hit his left shoulder out from it, breaking it in two and tossing it to the side, before he finally picked up both his swords and parried Link's attempts, forcing him to jump backwards.

Ganondorf: A simple arrow inflicted with magic and some fancy sword play like that is not going to be enough to stop me...

Readying himself to charge at Link, Ganondorf seemed to be a bit taken back by the sudden hit, as he appeared as if set on taking the situation at hand a bit more serious from now on. Tossing the shield back to Link, Zelda readied her bow again as she was prepared to fire at any and all openings that presented themselves.

Ganondorf: Now, for some real battle...

Leaping off at great speed, Ganondorf clashed madly with Link as shockwaves flew in all directions. Exchanging between being the one leading the attack, the two of them efficiently parried each others attempts as the two of them exchanged several rounds with none of them choosing to back down. The battle itself happened at such a great speed that any attempts firing an arrow would endanger hitting Link or missing the shot by a mile... Focusing hard to find an opening, Zelda decided to run to the side of him. Seeing this, Ganondorf quickly lashed out at Link with one sword as he turned around and swung his other one towards the Princess.

Zelda: ?!

Link: Zelda!!

Just barely managing to dodge the first attempt, Ganondorf swung his other sword around, slashing a clean cut through Zelda's bow, causing her to fall backwards on her back. Just as he was about to deliver a blow, Link stepped in between them, giving Ganondorf a powerful shield-bash, knocking the air out of him and causing him to fall backwards, landing on his knees.

Link: Do not... Touch... The Princess...

Helping Zelda back up on her feet again, Link had a determined look on his face as Zelda readied her broadsword again.

Link: Use it only for defense...

Zelda: I know...

Ganondorf: *Pant* You really want to do this don't you... Well then, no reason to hold back!!

As he said, Ganondorf reached both his swords into the air again as the whole room began rumbling again, only this time, the windows began to shatter, the walls began to crumble, and the roof began to collapse, forcing Link and Zelda to dodge in between the large rocks that fell to the ground. As the rumbling finally settled, all that was left was an open ground, with no walls or roofs, and only with a stair leading further down into the castle behind them. They were at the top of the castle, and since the walls had been torn down, it was a long way down into the hot lava below, surrounding the castle on all sides. A powerful wind began to blow, as the two forces below could be seen engaged in a heavy battle as Ganondorf rose to his feet again.

Ganondorf: Just look below!! Your allies are being slaughtered down there... Only a matter of time now Princess before they are all eradicated... And when they are, only you two will be remaining... There are more painful things than death in this world... No, death is too kind for you, Princess...

Link: ...

Looking down to the side, Link knew he couldn't take any risks now as one wrong move would sent him flying off the edge. He just couldn't fail, he had to defeat the man before him, he had to end the chaos while he still could, for himself, for his brother, for his friends, for his allies, for his Princess, and for the kingdom.

Zelda: *Pant* Do not underestimate us... Do not underestimate our allies! It will be your downfall...

Ganondorf: You still have to prove your worth as the descendants of the hero and the goddess of the old... So far, none of you are living up to the legends of the past, the ones who sealed me away and the ones whom supposedly slew me, all those years ago...

Link: You have seen nothing yet!!

Charging in at him, Link lashed his sword at Ganondorf as the two of them began exchanging even more rounds, both refusing to back down to the other. On the ground, from below them, Nexus and the rest were still fighting on as they had witnessed the roof of the castle crumbling as well.

Pipit: Nexus, what's happening up there?!

Nexus: I'm not sure!! I need you to help Talon and Ingo now!

Eagus: What about Impa and Flinch?!

Nexus: Leave that to me!

Dodging between several foul monsters, parrying some swords and sliding between the legs of one of the trolls, Nexus jumped high in the air as he forced his sword through tha back of one of the enormous spiders, spilling its guts all over the place. Landing on the ground again, he reached his hand out to Impa whom was struggling to get up to her feet.

Nexus: Are you alright?!

Impa: I'm fine, just-... Looks out!

Nexus: ?!

Flinch: Ugh...

Nexus: Flinch!!

Letting his guard down for a mere second, Nexus failed to see one of the incoming skeleton warriors as Flinch just barely managed to jump in the way, getting his stomach pierced in the process as he fell to his knees the moment the skeleton warrior pulled his sword out from him. Enraged by this, Nexus jumped over Flinch and sliced off the head of the enemy before him in one go, swinging around hitting the leg of one of the trolls whom fell over landing on top of one of the spiders that exploded due to it. Running over to Flinch, Impa grabbed a hold onto him before he fell to the ground as Nexus came over as well.

Nexus: Flinch, how could you?! You were suppose to-...

Flinch: I always... *cough*... considered you as my role model... I wanted to be like you... I wanted to be as strong and wise as you... *cough*... But in the end, I cou-...

Nexus: Flinch!! FLINCH!!?!

Impa: He's gone Nexus, he's-...

Nexus: Noooo!!! I've lost too many already, not him too!!

Eagus: Nexus, Impa, you got to move your asses, we need to regroup!!

Pipit: Talon and Ingo... They're-... they're-...

Nexus: What?!

Groose: Run like hell or be slaughtered like pigs... NOW!!!

Running up to them, Groose seemed to be in a hurry as he had four fierce trolls on his back. Seeing this, Impa slowly let go of Flinch body as she grabbed a hold on to Nexus and forced him up with the help of Eagus.

Eagus: Everyone, fall back and regroup, now!!

Drawing some distance, the troops ran around a small cliff as the enemies quickly followed, only to be jumped at by countless other allied forces, being led by the different tribe leaders. Getting some room to breathe because of this, the five of them sat down as Nexus threw his sword to the ground.

Nexus: Damn it, DAMN IT ALL!!

Eagus: There was nothing you could have-...

Nexus: There is always something that can be done! ALWAYS!!

Pipit: There were too many, we couldn't have saved them all, we-...

Groose: We can't just sit here resting, the rest need out help, we need to go back in there!

Impa: Groose, wait just a moment!

Eagus: My cousin is right... Keep the spirit up, it is bound to change soon. Cousin, let's go.

Taking off into the battle again with the incoming reinforcement, Eagus and Groose disappeared into the crowd as Nexus forced himself onto his feet again.

Nexus: Makar and Rusl... And now Flinch, Ingo and Talon too... Why, why can't I-... Why...

Pipit: Nexus, you have to pull yourself together, at this rate...

Impa: The rest is still fighting on, and you are the Guard Commander! The forces need you! I need you... Your brother and the Princess can still end this before it is too late!

Diego: I hate to break it to you guys, but this is all the reinforcement I could get together in such a short notice...

Nexus: Diego??

Impa: That is alright... You have done well Diego...

Coming in from the hill behind them, Diego was the last of the reinforcement to arrive as he stopped his horse beside them.

Diego: Now, we must preserve until new hope presents itself... Are you with me?!

Nexus: Of course we are!!

Grabbing a hold on to his sword again, Nexus readied himself for battle once more, as both himself, Diego, Impa and Pipit went around the small cliff in front of them as they rejoined the battle. Looking up at the castle, Nexus immediately recognized his brother and the Princess on the top of it, as he knew that as long as his brother could keep things going, he would not falter either.

Link: *Pant, Pant, Pant*

Zelda: Watch out Link!!

Seeing Link barely dodging to the side, Zelda watched as Ganondorf's sword hit the ground, just scratching Links left shoulder causing a minor wound to appear.

Ganondorf: Die!!!!

Link: ?!

Lashing out at him once more, both of Ganondorf's swords connected with Link's shield as he smashed it straight out of his hands, causing it to fly over the edge and down into the pit of lava below. Following up with another strike with both his swords flung at Link, Link rapidly swung his sword in response, hitting the insides of Ganondorf's swords in a swift motion, causing him to get unbalanced and leave his guard wide open as Link jumped through his legs, swinging his sword yet again as he did, wounding Ganondorf's right leg in the process, as Ganondorf fell to his knees in pain. Quickly getting back up on his feet, Link swung his sword around again, but Ganondorf swiftly parried as he turned around, but as he did, Link knocked his right sword out of his grasp, causing it to fall over the edge, before he went to his side, lashing his sword at him once more, only to be parried again. Breaking off, Link readied another charge as Ganondorf forced himself up to his feet and as he did, Link jumped over him as he front-flipped through the air, swinging his sword around as he did, slicing a clean cut on Ganondorf's back as Link landed on his feet again, before he swung around, knocked Ganondorf's last sword out of his grasp, and finally, went in for the kill.

Link: Aaaaargh!!!

Lashing out on Ganondorf countless times in a row, Link was finally able to break through his guard as his sword hit Ganondorf in between the neck and the shoulder, digging deep into him as blood started to gush out of him.

Ganondorf: Ugh!...

Pulling his sword towards himself, Link carved the Master Sword even deeper into his flesh as Ganondorf let out a deep groan before falling flat on his stomach... Was the Great King of Evil already defeated?

Link: *Pant, pant*

Zelda: You did it!!

Running over to him, Zelda hugged him as hard as she could as tears formed in her eyes and started to stream down her chins.

Link: I don't think... *Pant*... It is fully over just yet...

As more and more blood gushed out of Ganondorf's body, the castle began to rumble heavily as some parts of it began to crumble, falling towards the ground beneath them. Seeing this, the moral of the allied forced grew even bigger as several of the monsters on the battlefield began to vanish in thin air, leaving only their clothes, weapons and bones behind as the large trolls and spiders began to decrease in size, only to melt down to nothing as well.

Eagus: Did they do it?! Did they deal with the leader of the Monster Tribe?!

Nexus: I can't believe it... You did it Link...

Reaching their hands in the air, the remaining troops were celebrating the victory as the castle stopped rumbling as the dust started to settle.

Zelda: It is over...

Link: Finally...

"Do not... Think you've won... This easily!!!!!!"

Link: ?!

Zelda: !!

As everything seemed to be calming down, Ganondorf's body suddenly began beaming up in light as he shot up to his feet, holding his hand up in the air as the Triforce of Power glowed bright on it. As he did, his body began to transform rapidly as a tail and two wings began to grow on him as a vicious beast appeared in front of them.

Zelda: It can't be?!

"Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Appearing before them was a large and enraged dragon, breathing fiery flames and with razor-sharp teeth, as it proceeded to take off from the top of the roof.

Link: I won't let you!!

Grabbing a hold on to the whip Diego gave him, Link lashed it out on the Dragon's right foot as he was swept from the ground and up in the air together with it.

Zelda: Link!!!

Flying down at rapid speed towards the people below, the dragon spat fire everywhere, causing massive chaos as they could only seek shelter from the flames. The arrows shot was incinerated instantly as anyone who stood in the way of the flames were gone in a heartbeat. Forcing himself closer to the dragon by climbing upwards along the whip, Link finally reached his right foot as he worked his way upwards. Noticing Link's presence, the dragon tried to roll over, but as he did, Link swung his whip once more, this time around his neck as he barely managed to hang on. From below, the rest could only watch as Zelda had started to work her way down the castle, appearing out on the ground gasping for air.

Nexus: Princess?! If you are here, then where is my brother?!

Eagus: What on earth just happened?!

Zelda: *Pant, Pant* I-... Ganondorf... The legend is true, is this his beastly form of Ganon?!

Diego: It can't be...

Nexus: What?!

Diego: Look, over there!

Pointing at the flying dragon, Diego quickly realized that Link had jumped onto the dragon as it took off, as the three of them paid close attention to the action unfolding itself in front of them.

Link: Make it!!

Having pulled his way all the way over to the dragon's head, Link clung onto its neck as the dragon turned around in the air again, setting his aim at the remaining allied forces.

Link: I won't let you!!!

Using the Master Sword, Link plunged it through the Dragon's skull, just as he was about to incinerate everything beneath him, causing him to drop fast through the air and towards the ground. Due to the massive speed created by the sudden plunge through the air, Link wasn't able to hold on anymore as he was cast through the air, losing his grip on the sword that stood firm into the dragon's skull as the dragon crashed hard to the ground, only to roar out viciously before slowly starting to turn into stone. In the end, all that was left was a large stone in the shape of a sleeping dragon, and on top of it, the Master Sword stood stuck. Running over to it, the troops had a puzzled look on their face as some of them began to celebrate, knowing that this was the final end of the long going chaos that had spread throughout the land.

Zelda: Where is Link?! Where's Link?

Impa: Just calm down, I'm sure he's fine-...

Eagus: He couldn't have-...

Groose: It's can't be...

Pipit: Where the hell is he?!

Nexus: I can't see him, he should have-...

Diego: No time to lose, mount quickly.

Arriving on his trusted steed Tornado, together with two other horses, Zelda and Nexus quickly mounted as they followed Diego several hundred yards away, only to find Link lying on the ground, not moving a muscle. Dismounting in a hurry, the three of them went over to him as Diego had a worried look on his face.

Nexus: Brother!!

Zelda: Link, are you okay?!

Hurrying down to him, Nexus grabbed a hold on to him as he held him into his arms.

Link: Ugh... My body... I can't, I can't feel a thing-...

Zelda: Why did you have to go all crazy like that, why?!

Link: Someone had to-... Ugh, end this...

Diego: ...

Nexus: Don't you dare die on me, I've lost many enough as it is today, I can't lose you as well!!

Link: I'm sorry brother-... I trie-....

Nexus: LINK!!!!!

Zelda: No... You can't, not now... You hear me?!

Having formed a smile on his face, Link seemed happy to accept his fate as his eyes slowly closed and it all went black.

[...]

"And this my dear nephew, is where the tale of your father, the tale of our family, ends..."

"...Wait just a moment... You made it seem like my dad died?!"

"Well I think the story is more fitting this way, don't you?"

"Heh, you always were the cleaver story-teller uncle... But why don't you just tell me how it really happened??"

"How it really happened?? Hah, well if you insist, I might as well just tell you..."

[...]

Diego: You can open your eyes now Link...

Link: Damn, you saw through it didn't you??

Nexus: ?!

Zelda: What?!

Forcing himself up to his feet again, Link seemed to be totally out of it, but he was still able to walk without needing any help to carrying him.

Zelda: All that was just a play?!

Nexus: How dare you pull a stunt like that?!

Not knowing whether to be happy or to be mad as hell, the two of them could do nothing more than to yell as both Diego and Link had a good laugh about it.

Diego: So how did you survive that fall anyways??

Link: Beats me... Maybe this necklace of yours is indeed a lucky charm after all...

Nexus: Sigh... Damn it is good to see that you're still alive, but one thing should you remember brother... Next time you pull a stunt like that, I'll make sure it is no longer a stunt, you hear me??

Link: Hahaha, don't you worry... Come, let's head back to the rest.

Diego: We don't have a horse for you though...

Link: Oh... Well, you know me.

Reaching his right hand up to his mouth, Link once again gave off a sound whistling as Epona came running towards him from behind a nearby hill.

Link: See, no problem.

Diego: Hehe, I suppose not.

Link: Glad to see you decided to stick around this time Diego...

Diego: Well, someone had to watch over your brother's back...

Nexus: Ah shut it, I'm pretty sure I saved you more times than you saved me in this battle...

Having another good laugh, the four of them proceeded to head back to the rest as Zelda leaned in close to Link while still on horseback.

Zelda: About what I had to tell you...

Link: Yeah?

Zelda: Now that this is all over, what are you going to do?

Link: What I'm going to do?? Well, I'm not exactly planning to go any place...

Zelda: Good, good...

Link: Why... Did you have something in mind??

Zelda: Heh, only time will tell Link... Only time will tell.

[...]

"So that is what happened! Heh, I do agree though, the story you initially told is perhaps more fitting for the history books..."

"Haha, well I'm probably not the one who's going to write that story down either way..."

"So what happened to the Master Sword and the Triforce anyways??"

"With the land reunited and the great evil vanquished, the land finally knew peace once again. The kingdom was rebuild, and the Princess became the Queen she always was meant to be... The Triforce was brought back together and sealed into the inner chambers of the Temple of Time, and the Master Sword... It still rests in the head of the dragon, where it will remain so until another true and worthy hero rises to claim it his own..."

"And what about you uncle??"

"Me? Well I'm still the Commander of the Royal Guards of her Majesty, and I don't plan on stepping down any time soon, haha."

"Hah, you always had it in you uncle... You always did..."

[...]

Zelda: Something bothering you??

Link: Not at all my Queen, just admiring the view...

Zelda: The view?? What is so great about it?

Link: I can remember the time I used to play in these yards with my brother and our father as we were young, looking up at this balcony waving at the king and the queen standing here... I just never thought I would one day stand her myself... That is all.

Zelda: Why don't you come back to bed my beloved King? Let no worries trouble your mind any further...

As the evening sun disappeared beyond the horizon, the Kingdom of Hyrule was once again at peace, and with its new king and queen, it would know peace for many generations to come.

[...]

"Give me another one of those!!"

"The heck I am, you still need to pay for the three drinks you've had mister!!"

"Give me another one now, or I'll set this bar on fire, you hear me-..."

Diego: Now, now, that's not a way to treat the host serving you drinks...

"And who the hell are you old man, thinking you have anything to say in the matter?!"

Diego: So after all these years, you are still alive after all... So the rumors from 30 years ago were indeed false...

"Huuuuuh?! What are you talking about?? Now get out of my face before I-..."

Reaching for his sword, the thug seemed to be bothered by Diego's presence as the local bar man hid behind his desk as a few pedestrians rushed by outside in the streets. Before he managed to draw it however, Diego quickly grabbed a hold onto the thug's arm with his hand, preventing him from doing so, before he drew a short dagger in his other.

"Ugh-..."

Laying the dagger on the thug's throat, Diego pulled his shirt down a bit, revealing two old scars, one at each sides of his neck as the thug didn't know what to do.

"What are you-..."

Diego: Like I suspected... I finally found you.

Guards: What is going on in here?! Are you guys causing trouble?!

Being alerted by the noise from the passing pedestrians, two guards had come through the door of the bar as the thug was struggling to break free.

Diego: No, no problem... At least not any more.

Pointing his dagger at the thug's scars, Diego gently lined it up with the old lines of the two scars, one at both sides of the man's neck, being in the shape of two Z's.

Diego: You thought you could escape me, but in the end, fate caught up with you...

"You... YOU?!! It can't be?! You should be dead by now!!!"

Throwing him over to the two guards, Diego then sat down as the bar man began explaining what had happened, how that man had not paid for any of his drinks, and how he had threatened to burn the whole place down before Diego came inside to stop him. To top it all, Diego also informed the two guards of the man's two scars, revealing that he had been marked by the legend, the hero of the people named Zorro, once upon a time. Knowing well that anyone that had been marked by Zorro was a serious threat, the two guards dragged the man with them as he threw countless curse marks at Diego before he disappeared beyond view.

Diego: Guard Commander Nexus would probably have a thing or two to say when he finds out who this man really is...

"Thank you so much for helping out, I don't know what I would have had to do with that guy if it weren't for you!..."

Diego: No problem at all, it was the least I could do...

"How is it that a man like you, still has such reflexes?? I mean, you got to be in your 60s or something..."

Diego: Well, let me tell you a secret... You saw that man back there, those scars...

"Were they really marked by the legend of the past, the masked man named Zorro?"

Diego: Yes they were...

"How do you know that for sure??"

Diego: Because I... I used to be Zorro...

Fun Facts & Author's Note:

1: So as you may have guessed already, this is indeed my first other work on NB beside my long going The Legendary Sage of Konoha Series (that I've been writing for over three years now), and as you may understand, it was indeed refreshing to finally write something else than Naruto. The reason I chose to do an One Shot with this project rather than to split it up into 6-8 or so chapters, is basically because I liked the idea of this project to be a complete and an one time thing only. Not only did it give me the opportunity to just write without thinking of limiting myself to individual chapters, but it also gave me the opportunity to finish it faster (IMO) than what I would have done if I made a chapter based version out of it.

2: Since I posted the Triple Preview thread not long ago, I always had the goal of finishing either this project, or the Series Finale/Short Movie for TLSoK (which I'm currently still working on) first, and as I started writing this one (which I actually started on after I had begun working with the Short Movie for TLSoK), I realized that I wanted to get this one out of the way first, and this is indeed what it ended up becoming.

3: This is the longest project I've ever written, crushing my past record here at the Base by a mile, and due to it becoming this long, it felt only right to try and divide it up into several posts (the limit is after all 150 000 letters per post). I don't know how long it took me to do this, but I sure as hell spent a lot of time working on it.

4: Some of you may wonder why I decided to name Link's brother Nexus, which in fact is the same name as one of the Admins on here... The matter of the fact is that when I was coming up with a name for Nexus (one of three character names used in this story that hasn't already been used in one of the many TLoZ video games - the others being Diego and Flinch), I found it fitting that he had to have a similar name to Link, so therefore I searched up synonyms for "Link," and quite surprisingly, I found "Nexus" to be one of them, which was indeed entirely coincidental =p

5: As for the story in this One Shot, it is indeed taking place first in the "Master Timeline" that I revealed more about in my Triple Preview thread, and for those who don't know what the Master Timeline is, it is in fact a timeline I've come up with linking all my current and upcoming stories together in one universe. For more information on it, check this thread out: [ ]

6: That is all I got for this already insanely long project, feel free to comment with anything your heart desires both with criticism, questions or general talk about this One Shot as a whole. I hope you liked the story I presented (both those who are familiarized with The legend of Zelda franchise and those who are completely "unaware" to it), both old readers of mine and new ones, and I do hope that with this, the FanFiction Section of Narutobase will have a bright year ahead of us. Thank you.

Why so many chapters :erm:

Great read though

I had no chance in heaven to fit all of this into one post (broke the limit by over 50 000 letters xP), so I figured it would be better to split it up into several posts (for reading purposes and of course, because I had to, lmao). Besides, the way the posts are split, you could look at them each as a chapter (or what it probably would have looked like if I made this chapter based instead of a One Shot).

Thanks, but you couldn't have read through it all already O__O xP

I enjoyed reading it. I love Zorro and the Legend of Zelda and they melded together better than I expected. I hope you keep writing, I like your work.

Thanks Trea =) I'm glad that you think so as I was a bit unsure how "well" I managed to portray a The Legend of Zelda based project, yet along incorporating Zorro into the mix. In the end though, I feel like I managed to do just what I set out for and starting today, I can set my eyes on finishing the Series Finale/Short Movie for The Legendary Sage of Konoha.
The only question is if I get time to finish it by the end of Saturday, as starting this Sunday, I'm leaving for my military service/conscription, and from there on and out, I have no idea how 2014 will look for me. I suspect that the three first months or so might get busy, and I probably won't have time for either NB or the internet as a whole. I might get time to peek in every now and then, but I most likely won't have any time to write. This leads me down to what I need to focus on from now on, and what I need to do before 2014 ends (which is the year the Naruto Manga comes to an end, and with it, still writing Naruto based FFs won't be the best idea IMO).

For now though, I'm going to finish my TLSoK Series with the Series Finale (I'll try to do that before Sunday arrives), and then, once I get time, I'll do The Legendary Sage of Six Paths, which will be another One Shot, before finally moving on to my Original Work that I've been shelving for a very long time already (almost three years now, lol).

Again, thanks for reading Trea, hope you will stick around =)

WOW!

This Story is really big

I will read it later tomorrow

I've read the first post

It sure is, but it had to be considering that it is a One Shot and thereby an one time thing only. Everything had to go down in one thread, so the length of it had to be enough to make it compelling.

Good to know, it was kind of the way I intended it, so that you can in one way, look at each post as an individual chapter, if that makes sense. There's really no need to read through it all in one go if you don't have the energy/time for it. Some of the posts are longer than the others though, as I had to divide them scene-wise, and not length-wise. Let me know what you think once you are done, or tell me what you think as you read each post if you rather prefer that ;)

Not some thing I usually read it was long but very nice job Zorro :)

Thanks Serena, glad you took your time :)

"One Shot", he said u__u
You can apply for 2 fanfic contests with this thing man >_>

Only read the first post so far but I can say that I enjoyed reading your fanfic =D I like how there's a mix of characters from different places such as Zoro and Zelda. Haven't played any of these Zelda games but I have an idea of the universe so it was easier to picture the world of your fanfic.

Well I'll be reading the 2nd post tomorrow :p
