Seeing that the Hidden Rain was almost totally destroyed, If Jiraiya had wanted Nagato, Konan and Yahito to come to Konoha, seeing that Nagato possessed the rinnegan and only Knonoha had shinobi with Dojutsus; also the Uzumaki are allies of Konoha, seeing Mito would still be alive then, there would be no problem. If Nagato had returned to Knonoha instead of being caught up in a great war at a young age, many things could happen like:
Instead of Konoha going to look for an uzumaki to be the Kyuubi's jin, Nagato could simply become it's host.
Learning so much uzumaki jutsus from Mito would have been great.
He would have a better chance at learning at controlling the rinnegan, going to the uchiha tablet and reading all Madara read.
Jiraiya's first Saviour was Nagato, and with his uzumaki, great chakra reserve, he would have learnt Sage mode (Jiraiya would have wanted that).
He would have taken the kyuubi down and controlled its chakra, although the hatred is one thing, but i guess its konoha after all and since he possesses the rinnegan, they could figure it out somehow.
Having good control of the 6 path's power and the rinnegan, not having his leg burnt and paralysed, controlling all five chakra natures, uzumaki sealing jutsus, sage mode, Kyuubi chakra (yin & yang); what more could Knoha ask for?
This is just a thought, how OP would he be?
