In the jump fest ,Kishimoto mention that he wanted Sasuke to become hokage.Naruto did stated to Sasuke that he wanted to become hokage during the time they met.Currently ,we are seeing Naruto is strip from his only source of power that he was relying on in part 1.I really expected a worthy battle between Naruto and Sasuke but it seem more like an handicap battle because Naruto will be easily defeated or outclass by Sasuke unless he Train hard to cover the skill he lack(probably a new arc?)
Other than Naruto ,Kiba ,konohamaru and some other wanted to be hokage,they are no competition for Sasuke.Sasuke can simply solo them with kenjutsu or summon aoda to solo if he want some fun.I really friend it lame for Sasuke to get an easy Hokage selection

The only way Sasuke becomes Hokage is if Naruto dies (permanently). Considering the show is called Naruto, I doubt this will happen.

Kishimoto will probably return Naruto Kyuubi,or some ass pull if he even wants them to have a final fight. But Sasuke wanting to become Hokage is an interesting twist to the story and in my opinion even though Naruto is the main and is loved by the Village Sasuke is an awesome choice because he is brave and more than capable to be a leader( Taka,Team 7) and even in his darkest hours he always saved people who were close to him.

Kishi already use tobirama to explain the uchiha clan curse of hatred when he revive.It not Sasuke fault for his behaviour,MS allow sasuke to become darker because he love taka (which converted to hatred)

Sasuke became darker because he loves Taka.

Sasuke uses Karin as a pawn to stop Danzo because he loves Taka.

Sasuke left members of Taka behind to get captured because he loves Taka.

I recall Sasuke failed to capture Killer Bee. Then Killer Bee used the situation to get some vacay.

Killer Bee could had came back and blasted Sasuke but he used the attack for his own advantage.
