He doesn't need to be fast, he can use attack prevention technique or zetsu's mayfly techique to escape while Onoki is prepping his jinton.

If I remember correctly, somewhere in the Databooks it was stated that Orochimaru was as fast as Sasuke.
Now add to that Slithering Snake Mode and Shunshin.

Also, Jinton is easily evaded/Onoki is getting fooled with:

1. Mayfly.
2. Hiding like a mole.
3. Attack Prevention.
4. Improved Shadow Clone.

Prepping Jinton already consumes chakra, so if Onoki keeps on trying to fire off some Jinton, he's gonna drop on chakra, considering that he's not gonna hit Oro with it anyways.

Say what you want, but Orochimaru is the most versitale and proficient character in terms of evading or rendering others' techniques useless.

I am curious about Jinton - thinking back to the anime, when Onoki used it on Sasuke at the Kage Summit, presumably, the technique has to fully surround the target.

I am now thinking Oro in Hydra form vs Onoki trying to cast Jinton big enough to consume Hydra?

I can think of ways it could save him but Im hardly interested in this debate. But anyways first off onoki's jinton that he was about to use on the island wasn't going to be the same exact size of the island but rather what his subordinate meant was that his jinton would kill the turtle isand not be on the same scale as the island in terms of size, anyways onoki still had deidara and kabuto in his view if orochimaru disappears than obviously onoki will have no idea where orochimaru is so he can potentially fire off a jinton in the wrong spot and waste his chakra.
