-Who is your least favorite historical figure? Who is the person you wish never left his/her mark on history?

I'd say Thomas Edison. He's a proper douchebag. I have always disliked him because he is known in history books as the guy who invented over 1000 products. He's more of a businessman than an inventor. I especially disliked Edison after reading the Oatmeal's comic(s) about him. (You can read it here: )

-While we're at it, who's your favorite historical figure?

Because I absolutely despise Edison, I would have to say that Nikola Tesla is my favorite historical figure. He really is the genius of all geniuses and basically made modern-day life possible. (Read more about him here: )

Why for all three of you guys?

And I completely understand why people hate Hitler (and I don't condone any of his despicable actions) but the world today wouldn't be the same without some of his crazy ideas.

Hitler and his regime actually advanced technology and was quite the population controller.

Least favorite - Joseph Goebbels (he was just a sniveling, groveling, Hitler fanboy whose job was to manipulate people.) Heinrich Himmler (A mass-murdering freak who was even more insane than Adolf Hitler. Head of the SS. A main perpetrator of the Final Solution. A fool who believed in the occult.) Reinhard Heydrich (Forgot the reason, but he was a bad, bad man. He was also known as the Blonde Beast, The Hangman of Europe, the Butcher of Prague, and the God of Death.)

Favorites - Wilhelm Canaris - Nazi Admiral and leader of the intelligence service called Abwehr. Actually worked against Hitler, got a great many Jews out of Germany and into Britain, America, or Spain, personally hid Jews at his own house, told Hitler the Allies would strike at Calais and not Normandy to trick Hitler, and finally was one of the main proponents of Operation Valkerie, the plot to kill Hitler.

Josip Broz Tito - Defeated the Nazis, Italians, Romanians, Hungarians, and traitors in Yugoslavia in WWII with minimum outside assistance, vastly improved Yugoslavia when he took control in 1945, defied Joseph Stalin himself, ran the country as a benevolent National Communist dictatorship, prevented the ethnic groups from killing each other, was a founding member of the Non-Alligned Movement in the Cold War, and was loved by the West and Soviets alike.

John F. Kennedy is my favorite, partly because we share something in common.

I was agreeing on your point about Hitler. He shaped modern medicine (in a way) and modern warfare. I don't understand how agreeing on that declares this thread over... People can still have different opinions.
The Romans were advanced as well, until everything just got ****ed.

Least favorite is Christopher Columbus. He's the definition of a rip-off artist.

Favorite would have to be Brig. Gen. Anthony Clement McAuliffe. "Go take a flying sh*t."

Christopher Columbus, he gets praised for being such a good guy, where he infact enslaved, murdered and raped a shit ton of people... he dosen't deserve to be in the history books, atleast not with out them being corrected.

I agree Edison and JP Morgan dicked Tesla over hard and I love Tesla so it makes it hard for me to appreciate Edison.

Least favorite would be Ghandi that dude was a prick lol psyche. Least favorite is a toss up between Hitler and Harry J Anslinger. One murdered 6 million innocent people including children, the other made weed illegal, it's too close to call.

that's what history tells you, if you go visit the countries you can see how much damage communism has done, not right on the surface, but the damage is there
