Teen Titans is probably my favorite cartoon of all time. Now that I'm legally an adult, I find myself uninterested in cartoons I watched as a child, but Teen Titans isn't one of them. The show was truly geared for most audiences to enjoy. It had Plot progression, character development and exploration, action, comedy, and a great cast. One of the best examples of how a cartoon series should be handled. I've been dying for them to make a Season 6.
So what is this Teen Titans Go garbage? I understand it's trying to be something completely different from the original TT, I just don't like it. Why bring back the original cast and characters only to turn them into farces of their original selves? I find it insulting as a fan of the original show. The resources dedicated to this show definetely should have been given to a season 6 of the OTT. David Slack, the writer of the series, has already stated he wants to bring it back, as well as Derrick Wyatt, the animation designer. Obviously the Original Cast are fine with reprising their roles as well, since they already have (albeit in a joke of their former selves). So why? What makes them want to promote this new garbage over the original show, which was intelligent and entertaining?
I've seen an interesting video on the matter that suggests they want to gain popularity by turning it into a brony-type style show. The evidence suggests it; Animation has turned into a goofy flash animation style, same as My Little Brony. It's like watching "Teen Titans: Bobblehead Edition"! Another point to suggest they are moving in this direction is that they ACTUALLY MADE RAVEN A BRONY. I am not lying. The once tormented soul that has to constantly wrestle her inner emotions to prevent the demon Trigon from being released to unleash the apocolypse, but at the same time desires the companionship of her friends, has been reduced to watching My Little Pony.
