Here is a simple reminder page(this chapter is full of them), that show not even SHARINGAN, is needed to be activated to use susanoo.
Here itachi uses susanoo(the first time we even see it) and he isnt useing sharingan the entire time he has it activated. What is more, is that he is nearly blind. Also he did not bleed from the eye, further showing that sharingan isnt needed.
Now how is this possible you may ask? I thought susanoo was a MS technique.
Well it is and it isnt. When you unlock your MS, 2 things happen.
1. Your brain chakra becomes more potent. This shows itself by the sharingan becomeing the MS
2. Because you now have more potent chakra, you awaken 2 abilities in your eyes. MS techniques such as kamui amatersu etc, are all techniques made from the potent chakra reacting with the MS users eyes.
Now It seems that Susanoo is the MS users potent chakra reacting to the MS users BODY. It allows them to produce a spiritual guardian useing the energy from the body.(the susanoo useing energy from the body(and putting straing on the body) IS confirmed. The Susanoo being the result of useing potent MS level chakra on the body is not confirmed.
Keep in mind that never has a MS technique(besides susanoo) been used without MS or above activated.(this just further suggests that Susanoo is not a eye technique(at least directly)
So basically, all this points towards it NOT being a plot hole that madara used susanoo without eyes. Because Itachi has shown that susanoo does not require MS to be activated. And he also showed eyesight has little to do with susanoo as well, because he was nearly blind, yet capable of haveing a fully formed susanoo.
The only point of this thread was establishing you dont need to activate sharingan (if uchiha at least) to use susanoo. And that it was done LOOOONNNNGGGG before current events. The rest of the thread is mostly speculation, built on the existing manga feats and facts.
Please do wait till the end of the manga to call "THAT IS BS", or "THATS A PLOTHOLE". Most of the time kishi explains most of the questions he creates, in later chapters. Be patient. If at the end of the manga somethings are not explained, then you can go crazy on whatever. Kishi has kept his physics quite consitant in his manga(not perfect though).
