Im starting to think with his overall abilities, offensive, defensive and support, he's got to be top 3-4 in akatsuki. I seriously thought sasuke killed the white half but low and behold.....he returns with Madaras eye.

Between undetectable spores, ability stealing, body snatching and mokuton, this guy is really underrated.

I would agree. Zetsu clearly above normal jonin level if not high jonin. Mokuton is pretty fast attack and sucks chakra, he has sensory skills, spores and doton style all with black zetsu(madara experience and knowledge)

He got mowed down by the weakest of characters in the series.

Zetsu is not the weakest, Hidan is + he lacks intelligence. lol
Overall, I think he's a bit underrated, but not so much. Kakuzu and Deidara are.
