Hello there, student! I'm glad that we have a new shiobi who wants to explore the mysteries of Smoke Ninjutsu.
For the beginning, I'd like you to write a short essay by following this template.

How is it formed? What are its most important properties?
Smoke is usually formed from something has been combusted or burned. Smoke itself is composed of solid, liquid, and gas particles. (That’s pretty cool how it attains all three states of matter). Things burned with a high availability of oxygen produce little smoke while things burned with little oxygen produce a lot of smoke. The smoke itself being emitted from the fire is hot which is something I think a lot of people overlook. Although in some cases it isn’t hot. In Addition to its thermal damage inhaling the smoke can cause internal poisioning and damage to the victim. Smoke from oxygen-deprived fires contains a significant concentration of compounds that are flammable. A cloud of smoke, in contact with atmospheric oxygen, therefore has the potential of being ignited – either by another open flame in the area, or by its own temperature. Smoke can really be harmful depending on the different chemical being caused by combustion.

In the N verse it is a line from the fire release jutsu. Kemari used a cigareete to performs smoke ninjutsu while someone else used a gigantic kiseru pipe to create smoke jutsu.
Smoke greatest strength Is its versatility. It can be used in so many ways as defense attack and supplementary at the same time. So a lot of things can be done with just one attack. For example one could use an attack and the opponent has to worry about obscured vision, inhaling the smoke (losing oxygen. Once inhaled the opponent could practically say goodnight due to the chakra manipulation factor let alone the poision. Smoke can actually be ignited in certain circumstances by fire and cause an explosion. Other attacks can be hidden within the smoke. After they figured all that out who’s to say we haven’t used a no smoke related jutsu on top of that? When used correctly smoke can be very hard to deal with.
It’s weakness is that one could blow the smoke back to obscure our vision. Water could make it difficult to use this jutsu. If we don’t have a source for smoke it would be difficult to perform any high level smoke jutsu’s. If you don’t have anything to create smoke yourself and you are in an environment that has nothing combustible there would be no smoke to control.

Smoke itself is an element not much tapped into. Maybe because it is just seen as a bi product of fire so they look at fir more than the element of smoke. I think the element is special and should be tapped into. I also believe it can be one of the most powerful elements when used correctly.
I didn’t even know there was smoke ninjutsu on the base until I was looking for a teacher and I saw your name listed for smoke training. Even before I started to read into it I was already intrigued by the lack of Smoke users on the base so I thought it would be cool to have this jutsu. I read your bio, and researched smoke a bit and I really liked the versatility of Smoke. As I stated it Is made up of all three states of matter and has many different ways to effect a person instead of one direct way.Now add chakra control to smoke and it can get EVEN MORE versatile then it already is. We have seen what chakra can do for Earth water fire wind and lightning now imagine that with smoke. It’s pretty scary. There is so much freedom with using smoke because it is so unpredictable almost like Gaara’s sand. It was even stated it can be used for any situation. With enough smoke you can create almost anything you want.

The information you've got about Smoke Ninjustu in Narutoverse are from Naruto Fanon Wiki, which is not a reliable source because it is a place where people create their own characters and abilities and actually make an another, greatly different universe. That's why for collecting information, you should use Narutopedia, but then again, you oughtn't to copy it literally.

used it. It is extremely important for you to understand the fact that smoke isn't really an element. It is only an advanced form of ninjustu that uses preexisting smoke to create attacks. That means that you aren't able to, for example, transform your body into smoke, or freely breathe in smoke, because smoke is still a matter that's strange to your body, because you haven't really mad eit. Also meaning, every bad influence that smoke has on other people, affects you as well. You being a Smoke user, does create some kind of immunity towards Smoke because you use it all the time, but it all remains in theory and is still not enough for you to avoid the same consiquences while breathing it. You understand Smoke's most used properties; making a person cough and greatly restrict its vision. That's why it's good to have sensory skills with Smoke, because they're essential while using it. A fact that it has connections with Fire Release is true, but we Smoke users rarely use smoke that's made from fie to create our ninjustu. We use tools, such as gas masks, smoke bombs, and wrist launchers the most. Although, Smoke Ninjustu doesn't increase the power of Fire Release, nor it will be set on fire with the usement of Fire Release. But you can play with smoke made from fire later, when you complete Smoke Ninjustu trainign. That's another things that's good about smoke, you have many possibilities with customs.Smoke bombs:

are the most primitive ways of creating the preexisting smoke that's required for the usement of Smoke Ninjustus. They're not the best solution because you mostly need to throw it with your hands at the opponent and that takes much time and isn't really practical - you can only throw a limited amount of smoke bombs at a single moment and if you throw more of them, you lose precision. Using a smoke bomb for Smoke would work something like this: before you throw a smoke bomb, you fill it with your chakra, so that you have control over the smoke that's created after it explodes. Not only that it protects you from bretahing smoke and allows you to move normally in the environment affected by it, but it aloso is a tool used for producing smoke. So, besides a ventilator, it has a mechanism for creating smoke. You use your chakra to trigger the mechanism in it and make smoke to start going out of it. Gas masks are used even more rarely for creating smoke because there is an even better way. But never the less, it's quite essential for you to wear it while using Smoke.Wrist launchers:

is the most popular tool for creating smoke and is also the best because it's the fastest and most practical. For most cannon techniques, in their destriptions, it's even required for you to use one. As you can see in that link, wrist launcher that was used in anime is too massive and even resticts your movements. That's why Typhon came up with a solution for that problem. It's much better for you to use a one-barreled wrist launcher that's tight to your forearm. That type of wrist launcher refutes most disadvantages that the original one has. The principle of using a wrist launcher is easy; you use your chakra to trigger the mechanism in it and while the smoke is going out of it, you mix it with your chakra and gain cetrain control over it.Please ask questions if you do not understand something. Yes, of course you can. As I've said, you have so much things to do with Smoke Ninjustu after you finish training in it. All you need are good ideas and knowledge I'll hopefully manage to transfer to you in this training.

Let's start with the techniques. Throw ten smoke bombs that will create a smoky environment when they explode, which will enable you to use Smoke Ninjutsu. For starters, you'll be using the most primitive way of creating smoke. But you won't even be concentrating chakra into smoke bombs before throwing them or anything similar. Let the smoke spread freely through the battlefield and gather non-elemental chakra and release it into the smoke. When you have it in there, you will control the particles of smoke to create an exact clone of yourself and release it attack my clone. Remember, the clone can only use smoke-based techniques and is extremely vunerable. Its real purpose is to explode when being around your opponent and create a smokescreen that will only blind him/her and enable you to perform a diversion.

Perfomance of the technique: As instructed I throw a total of ten smoke bombs without channeling my chakra into them. As the smoke travels freely throughout the battlefield I begin to release elemental chakra into the smoke and take hold of the smoke particles molding it with my chakra. Through manipulation of the chakra mixed in with the smoke I create a smoke clone made out of the particles of smoke. I then send it to attack your clone which would create diversions.
Advantages and disadvantages: Really helps distract enemy for more powerful jutsu. Using many smokeclones could confuse the enemy due to the number of enemies and smoke explosions. The clone is not useful for really battling and can be destroyed rather quickly. In some cases your vision might also be blurred.
Combinations and/or strategies: Send it to intercept an attack and then when they cancel out the smoke clone explodes. When the smoke clone explodes, use another attack following that explosion because the enemy is now distracted and his vision blurred by the smoke.
(So the smoke clone could technically make a smoke clone...and the clone uses smoke ninjutsu up to C rank?)

Yes, there's no reason why this smoke clone wouldn't be able to create an another smoke clone with using Smoke Clone Technique and by controlling preexisting smoke. The clone can perform Smoke Ninjustu of all ranks.
Good. In perfomance description, you mentioned using elemental chakra, but it has to be non-elemental chakra. Probably just by an accident, but is wort mentioning. For this technique, the usement of wrist launcher is required. Collect regularchakra and when you have enough of it, transfer it into your wrist launcher. Trigger the mechanism in it and make it shoot out small dark bombs towards my clone. Those bombs are similar to smoke bombs, but are quite deadlier. When they hit the ground near the opponent, or the opponent himself/herself, around the same time, they will create a very large smokescreen that will suffocate the target and blind it as well. Aim towards my clone carefully and shoot about five of these bombs. This can also be used to attack various target, but the power of course, gets decreased.

Excellent. I would like to add that the smokescreen that occurs due to this technique, is smaller (shorter in duration) than the one you'll learn later, especially if the power is devided to multiple targets. The point is that even without sensory, it will be a lot easier to locate your opponent to attack him/her than it would be if the smokescreen would be covering the whole battlefield for example, and you have a better sense of orientation because you're most usually out of the smoke and you sufficiently accuretely know where your opponent is and you can act quickly.
This technique is for creating a larger number of smoke clones. You will create a single smoke clone from any kind of preexisting smoke, created from any tool, that will go after my clone. When the clone gets hit, it will explode and create a classical, small smokecreen that doesn't do damage, just resticts the person's vision. After doing the part you know, use that smoke to create up to 8 new smoke clones. Those smoke clones have the same properties as only one smoke clone you've already learned to make. The clones can only use smoke-based techniques and are very perishable, so generally, the only greater advantage that this technique has over the C-ranked one is the quantity of clones. It's important to mention that you need to perform Smoke Clone Technique first, before you're able to perform this technique.

Perfomance of the technique: First I create a smoke clone by throwing some smoke bombs and channeling non elemental chakra into it. Concentrating I make a clone out of myself performing the Smoke clone technique then throw a kunai dispersing it into a smokescreen. Not letting the opportunity go to waste I channel more chakra into that smokescreen and concentrate on using it evenly amongst the clones I plan to create. Once I have channeled and proportioned my chakra I create 8 clones to take it’s place.
Advantages and disadvantages: The multiple clones are extremely perishable and cannot serve as legitimate threats to a powerful enemy. However between the smoke covering the area and the multiple clones as distractions the opponent has limited vision. The process is also useful. As you make a regular clone a smoke screen occurs when they are hit and even more clones take it’s place. If those are hti then even more smokescreens will be made throughout the battlefield.

Awesome, I really have nothing important to add. This technique is really cool because when you attack your opponent with only one clone and then when he/she destroys it and thinks that it's all done. But then, firstly, he/she gets blinded by that smaller smokescreen and then you even use it to create 4 new smoke clones and that's when your opponent's real problems start. ^^

This is a new Smoke Ninjustu technique and it's very cool. Well, it's not new-new, since it was shown in the anime when other techniques were, but it was recently added. You will use your regular chakra to trigger the wrist launcher on your hand and make it start ejecting smoke. As the smoke is going out, you will also be filling it with your chakra. You will quickly take control over the smoke and shape it into a dragon that will extend from the wrist launcher and go toward my clone, envelop around it and suffocate it. On one side, this is a great technique because due to the dragon being completely made out of smoke, it's resistant to any physical attack, which is great against taijutsu users, and it's also able to travel up to long-range. You can even make three dragons at a time, but of course, the power gets divided. But not everything is sunshine because this dragons are very weak to Water and Wind, since water soaks them up and wind dilutes them into the air.

Perfomance of the technique: I gather basic chakra and channel it into the wrist launcher to release a good amount of smoke from it. As the smoke is being released I begin to take control of it with chakra and start to shape it. I focus on the image of a dragon as I manipulate the smoke and eventually I have formed a single Dragon. For the sake of training I divide my chakra up evenly to create three dragon heads just to test out the abilities I then reform the it into a single Dragon and control the Dragon with my chakra. I send it toward the clone and then wrap it around it causing it to suffocate….Thats a bad way to go.
Advantages and disadvantages: You can defend against attacks from all ranges and especially taijutsu users. Since smoke cannot techinically be destroyed the Dragons could cause problems for many other ninja who do not have great mastery in wind and water techniques, or people who like close physical combat. The jutsu also causes damage but it also blinds the user and is a great distraction as are a lot of Smoke jutsus; however, from the looks of it, immediate death won’t follow since the opponent suffocates from the attack and you cannot really see what he is doing either if you wrap the dragon around an opponent.

As they attempt to escape I would have some sort of clone attack them as they are suffocating from the dragon. Blinded from my Dragon it would be difficult to see it coming and counter both jutsus, or while they are suffocating from the dragon I would overwhelm them with even more smoke ninjutsu making it harder to escape.
Main question in general-In relation to other elements does Smoke follow normal rules such as B rank water is equal to A rank Smoke or does it have a different set of rules. Also when other people attack the smoke with jutsu does it just pass through or are you capable of defending against Doton, Raition, and Katon with an equal rank Smoke jutsu.
Question about this jutsu-If you rap the dragons around the opponent is he restricted or is he free to move about the smoke.

Uh sure I’ll do my best I hope I was taught everything correctly. Well smoke is a very intangible element so it doesn’t necessarily do physical damage, it is more of a threat for suffocation and distracting/tricking opponents. (Dont count on it to overpwer anyone) Smoke is not an element rather this is smoke ninjutsu. We use pre existing smoke whether it be from smoke bombs or smoke from wrist launchers. (Even fires (burnt objects)) Now onto the wrist launchers. Since there wasn’t real detail on the process behind the wrist launcher I’ll give my best take on it. It is hard to use smoke effectively without wrist launchers. They help provide a steady source of smoke and you can manipulate the smoke bombs before they launch which is more effective than constantly holding and throwing smoke bombs and then trying to manipulate it. Manipulating the source of your smoke before launch helps us control the smoke in various ways so that we may create techniques for it like the smoke Dragon jutsu. We started at the source without launching any bombs to creat a smoke jutsu. The wrist launcher provided a source of smoke for this to be possible.

You sorta touched on it, though I can't believe that they didn't teach you how and why you can control the smoke.
You "CANT" manipulate pre-existing smoke. "I burn a fire wood, thus smoke gets created and i use it to create clones"
No this is not how it works. Smoke itself needs chakra, your chakra. You are manipulating your chakra which is mixed/infused with smoke. That is why you can use smoke and it's jutsu's.
"How do I do that?"
Simple you load your wrist launchers with smoke bombs. You know this but before hand you infuse chakra into the smoke bombs. You can do this in the bio stating you have X amount of smoke bombs infused with your chakra. However that is tricky, thus the safest way is to ensure your bio says it has a lot of smoke bombs and a wrist launcher. You infuse it with your chakra before you launcher the smoke bombs through the wrist launcher.
You're usage of the wrist launchers are correct. But this is an important concept, because you will want to make CJ's later on. This is the process thus with everything we do and if you don't know it, you will constantly get bad results in the CJ's. I only mention the CJ's and normally i do not but this ninjutsu is very limited in cannon wise.

Description: Made during ancient times in the high mountains by multiple black smiths. Forged in fire with silver and an unknown metal to make it indistructable. As well as infusing the necklace with their own chakra. It has said that the necklaces power are the ability to protect it's user and give extra abilities to the user who holds it. Through the use of pure chakra that it emmits and reacts to the users chakra. The necklace would be activated by two ways. One, by channeling the users own chakra into the necklace, thus creating a reaction with the necklace and mixing both chakra's together. Two, by the necklaces own will of being able to sense the user’s chakra and constantly monitoring the user’s chakra to determine if there are any foreign chakra within their body. Once this happens the necklace will emmit a thick chakra layer around the users body. Protecting them from projectiles and debris that may be falling from the sky or towards the user. The chakra that is layered around the users body will also enhance speed and strength for the user as such the user will be able to move like lee without weights and can punch strong as if they used the super added weighted technique when the strike with a taijutsu move. However this only lasts until the duration of the necklace’s activation. Also the necklace was forged in fire and has a natural affinity to it. Thus being able to absorb B rank and below fire through the users will. Since the necklace has an affinity to fire, smoke will emmit from the user through the chakra layers around the body, long as the necklace is active. However the smoke itself is not harmful to the user as it is created from their own chakra. Once the user activates the necklace, the user will start to glow red and while active at any given point through the users will, the necklace can give the user an influx of all of it’s chakra into the user all at once, however once that happens the necklace will stay deactivated for the remain of the battle
Abilities:
-Activates, once the user channels chakra into the necklace or When the necklace chakra forcefully enters the users tenkets on it’s own.

Description: Made during ancient times in the high mountains by multiple black smiths. Forged in fire with silver and an unknown metal to make it indistructable. As well as infusing the necklace with their own chakra. It has said that the necklaces power are the ability to protect it's user and give extra abilities to the user who holds it. Through the use of pure chakra that it emmits and reacts to the users chakra. The necklace would be activated by two ways. One, by channeling the users own chakra into the necklace, thus creating a reaction with the necklace and mixing both chakra's together. Two, by the necklaces own will of being able to sense the user’s chakra and constantly monitoring the user’s chakra to determine if there are any foreign chakra within their body. Once this happens the necklace will emmit a thick chakra layer around the users body. Protecting them from projectiles and debris that may be falling from the sky or towards the user. The chakra that is layered around the users body will also enhance speed and strength for the user as such the user will be able to move like lee without weights and can punch strong as if they used the super added weighted technique when the strike with a taijutsu move. However this only lasts until the duration of the necklace’s activation. Also the necklace was forged in fire and has a natural affinity to it. Thus being able to absorb B rank and below fire through the users will. Since the necklace has an affinity to fire, smoke will emmit from the user through the chakra layers around the body, long as the necklace is active. However the smoke itself is not harmful to the user as it is created from their own chakra. Once the user activates the necklace, the user will start to glow red and while active at any given point through the users will, the necklace can give the user an influx of all of it’s chakra into the user all at once, however once that happens the necklace will stay deactivated for the remain of the battle

Oh man.....I think I have been borderline using it wrong. Thank you. (Nice Weapon by the way I want it) Alright I got it. I input my chakra into the smoke bombs that way I can manipulate smoke due to my chakra being mixed with the smoke produced.
yea and btw i made a mistake in my post or i didn't add. You Can use pre-existing smoke, you just have to add your chakra too it which is kinda tricky.

Water disolves it [depending on density of the smoke and in this case the rank of the techniques colliding. The only question is when two meet how much smoke is dispersed]. Earth, doesn't do much to it, you can make it go around it and will never go through it.[This one is determined by size of the earth jutsu. If you are facing a big all...... forget about the smoke technique going through it.... if it's small it can go over or around it.] and lastely Wind, wind will just push the smoke aside like it would mist.

Smoke clones can use smoke jutsu because they are made of smoke. Themselves are the source of the smoke.
