thats what im thinking. I wonder how there country survives with really low standards for things.
Their country?? Dude the UK isn't a country it's a union of countries, Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and Wales. I'm wondering who the hell you are shocked at these grading standards when you can't or don't bother to spell properly.

Also you haven't taken into account what questions/tests make up the exams etc.

Ah That grading system is similar to some of the education is similar to some universities and education boards in India. Not all of them have similar grading system and different universities have different cut of marks for such grades.

Just to put it out there- the grading or marking in exams and tests varies. That in such schools or universities which have grading similar to the given in examples scoring is very difficult and there won't be that many who would get marks in 80% above.
What she said.

The example you gave was obviously a very hard exam, where the requirements for an A+ were lowered.

In the past, I've been in many situations where over 93% is required for an A+.

Indian grading system sucks...a guy labelled GM scoring 95 and guy from a minority scoring 35 are considered same..
Actually no ... The Grades are even for everyone, a Grade E or A (Excellent, the Second highest Grade) will be counted as Grade E or A student ..... just that the minority have a different ranking system for certain entrance or admission exams. For example: out of 100 seats 80 seats are for everyone (But due to technical reasons Minorities are nearly never counted for this part) and 20 are for minorities .... Now there are just general ranking and minority raking system .... the 80 would be filled up with the highest eligible General people .... and rest 20 will be filled up highest eligible minority people.

But there are some liniencies in some cases but not to the extent you are saying ... for example A general candidate has to get 70% aggregate for a scholarship while a minority candidate may have to less like 60 or 55 ....

Actually learn some actual facts before speaking.

Minorities? Why are we calling SC and ST class a minority now? Besides those who get better scores from that class are considered for general seats. Problem is that they fill the reserved seats from the reserved quote class even if they do not fulfill even the lowest grades or those seats remain empty a lot of times... But of course that is not exactly problem with grading but reservation..

Those grades are fake as shit. The equivalent of an A+ in the UK is an 'A*' and to achieve this you need to obtain 90% of the raw marks. An A is 80%, and a B is approximately 70%.

For instance, I scored 23/24 on a test, but because the score got lowered due to strict marking my 22/24 didn't equate to an A+; only an A. If you do the Mathematics, 22/24 is approximately 92%, so even though I went past the boundary the grade was still reduced. I don't know why you consider the cesspool of tripe that is Tumblr to contain any substantiated evidence; quite farcical actually.

You're rather gullible, are you not?

It is what it is. Proof is all over the internet.

A lot of my peers moved to England because of this school system. Maybe it isn't in most England school, but a few certain ones have this kind of technology. U_U

Are you serious? You're going to disregard what I just posted? As a student from the UK? Is this real life?

There is no such 'proof'; stop phrasing conjecture.

That's not always the case. While you pretty much always need a 90% UMS score to get an A*, an 80* for an A and so on, the requirement for raw scores can vary depending on the exam board, how hard the test was believed to be, and how well the students did on the test. I.e, a test that has too many students doing well on it will have it's grade boundaries pumped up, whereas a test that students overall didn't do so good on will have its grade boundaries lowered.

But yeah, that picture is mostly BS, as there's no +'s or Minuses. You can only get an A*, and that's it, other than that it's just plain letters, no extra symbols to cushion your ego should you miss a solid grade by just a bit, or nothing to deflate it if you only scraped a grade.

Yes, that's correct, if the highest scoring student only acquires, say, 68 out of a possible 75 marks, then that 68 will equate to 100 UMS. I was speaking generally as I'm assuming UMS is a concept foreign to other members.

Yeah, lol. ****ing Tumblr.

No. The system is the same for all British students. The only thing that differs is the Exam Boards who set the exam.

You speak of 'proof' like this is a conspiracy lmao.

....................... The marking grades can change depending on the exam/test you are taking. in australia A's Fluxuate between 75 and 80+ most of the time. There is no A+'s here, or atleast where I went to school. also it wouldn't make you dumber. 75 is still a good score. O I almost forgot that in australia uni compares your scores for highest percent, The categories of A B C and so on really don't mean all that much. just a rough indication of how well you went.
I also live in Australia and an 'A' wasn't 75-80+ (at least to the highschools I went to).

I went to a normal highschool (not a private highschool) and to get an 'A' on a maths report for example, you would have to get 90%+ on every maths test for the term.

Just because you're from UK, doesn't mean that you know everything about the things going around there.

Not to say that you're wrong, even if you did have such grading system, you're still lower than us. Your school system is #2, yes, but our country is first.

Have freedom to guess which it is sir.

Holy shit...:|

I can't believe I'm being criticized via intelligence by this guy.
Forgive me. I misread your post, and acted like an arrogant and cocky ****.

He was talking about the scholar systems in his country, Europe to be precise, not grading system.
How on earth did you gather that from his post, not to mention he says he was from Washington D.C? What are you, an alt? Oh wait.. that join date and username style.

You're from Finland then? I heard there's great schools there. That free school though...
Sharp kid, huh?

Yeah, you guessed right. It's really nice, there's not too many students in schools - about 400 an average. And that's not even the upper secondary. Which means the upper one is significantly lower average, which means that it won't be boring times at school since you know everybody.

And it's essentially easy to study - if you know how and when you study your shit, you can go for party even day before the exams.

I saw you in some thread saying you from UK. South?

I actually have knowledge of the grading system that exists in schools. I do know everything.

Lol, do you want a cookie? Newton was English, Stephen Hawking is English, Michael Faraday was English, Paul Dirac was English. Even the great Darwin was English, so I could give a fuck about your grading/scholar system. You guys know about the nuclear atom of a model, correct? Guess who formulated it? Aaah, surprise surprise, it was a British scientist.

Since when was this a competition over who has a superior grading/scholar system? I was merely clearing up some misconceptions. You seem to be insecure about something.

You're the one here who is as bright as black
