LooksAsakura Yoh is a normal sized young man at 5'3". He has neck length dark brown hair and he is constantly seen wearing a pair of orange headphones behind or on his ears.
He normally wears dark green pants, sandals and a dress shirt that was open. He also wore a normal school uniform during his school hours. It would seem he can constantly wear his shirt open as his school has a relaxed attitude towards their uniforms. However when it gets cold Yoh will button his shirt, wear a tie and the standard school uniform jacket. Although of this, he will still wear sandals.
In a battle he wore a black vest and trimmed shorts with an orange lining, and wrap-up sandals. During the second round of the Chuunin Exam, he is depicted wearing a shirt with a Funbari Onsen advertisement on it and sweat pants with sandals, and long black trousers, also with wrap up sandals.
In between the battles of the Second Round of the Chuunin Exam, he wore a yukata, a blue robe tied together with an orange sash around the waist, where he keeps Amidamaru's memory tablet. Around the chest of his robes is yet another advertisement for Funbari Onsen. Over his shoulders he wears a black cape and carries his headphones around his neck
Personality
A slacker by nature, Yoh maintains a carefree, laid-back attitude about everything, even with achieving his goal of becoming Kage. Because he was alienated by everyone outside of the family he instead chose to bond with his spiritual side. He has even gotten a signature phrase: "everything will work out" as a way of seeing things. He is rarely on bad terms with anyone and always decides to make friends with the people he meets. He is deeply caring for his friends and is even ready to die for them or give up his dreams as seen when Tao Ren was fatally wounded and would be healed by Iron Maiden Jeanne, only if Yoh dropped out of the tournament.
Even though it is rarely seen, Yoh truly loves Anna with all of his heart and has decided that, when he becomes Kage, he will make her life easy. It is also believed that, before he left to Suna for the Chuunin Exam, he and Anna "slept together" after Anna said to him "Tonight...may I sleep with you?" and his response was "Yes."

Background Information
Yoh was born to his Mother Asakura Keiko, and his father Asakura Mikihisa, a monk. He was born as a Twin, his brother being Asakura Hao, Asakura Hao was kidnapped right after birth, and went down a dark path ever since.
Though Yoh was born into the Uchiha Clan, his mother was the Uchiha and his Father was the Asakura, so Asakura was his taken name. They also lived outside of the Hidden Leaf in a place called Izumo, where he was trained and raised by his Grandfather Yohmei. He Trained from the Age of 4, at the age of 10 his training had progressed a lot, but it was still quite slow, he found out he was engaged and to be married when he came of age to an Anna Kyōyama. Anna was a girl that didn't show emotion unless on rare occasion, and upon meeting Yoh, he seemed quite sad about that. Later on, Yoh saved Anna from an attacking shinobi, though he was hurt, it bought enough time for Anna to defeat the Shinobi herself and Yoh's Bravery managed to bring out some emotion in Anna.

Yoh went into the Hidden Leaf village for the Chunnin Exam, whilst in Konoha he met someone named Oyamada Manta who was born into a rich family and studied a lot, but he hasn't the ability to mold chakra and so can't use Ninjutsu. They became the best of friends and they always stuck together until the Chuunin Exams started and so was teamed up with a Shinobi named Ryu, who at first wasn't on good terms with Yoh, but overtime they became good friends. The third and final member of the squad was Horo Horo, someone Yoh met travelling to Konoha and saved his life, feeding him some food as his was stolen.
In the Forest of Death Yoh Asakura and his squad succeeded to get the Heaven and Earth Scrolls, and proceeded to the elimination rounds. Yoh Asakura faught Tao Ren and lost, with some serious injuries, though he awakened his Sharingan in the Process.
When Yoh was in Hospital, Anna came to visit, but not to give her love or to feel bad for him, she trained him night and day when he recovered. She also worked Yoh's friends, Manta, Ryu and Horo Horo. She gave Yoh an opportunity to redeem himself, telling him about an event happening in the Wind Country which if he won, would grant him the chance to unique training, this would grant Yoh a lot of power and would also grant Anna an easy life, which she demanded from Yoh.
Yoh travelled back to Izumo to seek training and travelled with his friends Manta and Ryu, Horo Horo had visited his Sister instead. On the way to Izumo, Yoh found a monument dedicated to a Legendary Samurai named Amidamaru and his sword Harusame, which Yoh takes, feeling a presence that urged him too, later finding out it is the spirit of Amidamaru himself, which Yoh says accompanies him everywhere he goes. When Yoh reaches Izumo, he is told he must go to Amegakure to get his next training, when he reaches Amegakure he is trained in the way of the Rain Element.
So after a lot of training, Yoh went for it, though he had to go through a series of battles to qualify to get into the Patch Village in the Wind Country. First he had to land a hit on one of the 10 'patch officients' who watch over the shaman fights, after a long while he succeeded to land the hit. He then proceeded to his next fight where he had to battle his friend, Horo Horo, it was a hard ordeal, both fought with great passion and in the end Yoh won, with no major injuries. Yoh faught Faust VIII in the second match up, Faust took Manta hostage which tore Yoh up, he tortured him and after Yoh saved manta, he was fatally wounded. Yoh had to win his next match to qualify, and he was put up against none other than Tao Ren, rematch. The epic battle ended in a draw, and they both qualified, they slightly bonded and Yoh brought out a side in Ren that he thought was lost and they even became friends. After a couple of weeks of rest and preparation, Yoh sets off with his friends; Horo Horo, Ryu and Ren to the Wind Country to a hidden place called the 'Patch Village'. They said their goodbyes and left.
Before entering the Land of the Wind, the met Hao Asakura, who taunted Yoh, his brother who he didn't know it was at the time. Hao attacked Horo Horo with great speed and also managed to dodge Ren's attack, he laughed and told Yoh that they'll meet again.

Yoh travelled the land of wind in search of the Patch Village, though he did wonder who this Hao was and it bugged him. Yoh and the gang came across another Shinobi in search of the Patch Village, a green haired boy who seemed a little lost and so he joined them on the search for the Village. The green haired boy was called Lyzerg and he had a hatred over Hao because he killed his parents, later on they were ambushed by a Shinobi under the command of Hao, this shinobi was a Yamanaka who took control over Ryu's mind and then later Lyzergs, the Yamanaka was defeated by Yoh and set his friends free. The Yamanaka was let go by Yoh's group, Yoh had convinced the Yamanaka to disband from Hao and he did, but right after he was assassinated by an organization known as the X-Laws, Lyzerg joined them so that he could become powerful and defeat Hao.
Ryu had become close to Lyzerg and was upset by this greatly, Yoh was also upset to lose a friend. Later on their Journey though, they met a Shinobi of the Sand, Chocolove, a Comedian with terrible jokes, he was beat up by Ren a couple of times, but he joined them on their quest. They also met up later with Anna, Manta, Tamao (A long time friend who grew up with Yoh in Izumo.) and Faust VIII, who had been turned because now his wife Eliza had been revived by Anna through Edo Tensei and so he served by Yoh's side. The group later found the Patch Village, after dealing with a couple of Hao's subordinates, the Patch Village was a nice sandy place with a great culture and the group spend a lot of time here, preparing for the next round of the Patch tournament.

Fire Release
Yoh Asakura became very proficient in Fire as it was his first element, like his brother Hao. Yoh Can perform fire technique hand seals very quickly than other normal Fire Release users.
Wind Release
Yoh then took to another element, Wind, this was his favourite element and he became proficient in it too, he also likes to combine his wind and fire elements to create stronger attacks. He only needs to make one hand seal for Wind Techniques.
Sword Technique
Yoh Asakura has always been quite naturally talented when using his Sword, he carries his Sword wherever he goes. He practices a lot with his sword, and when he trains it is usually with his blade.
Sharingan
Yoh Asakura awakened his sharingan after his brother Hao, he awakened it when he fought Tao Ren and was beat to the edge of his life, he was saved by his friend Ryu and taken to hospital.
Harusame
Harusame (春雨) Spring Rain, it is the last sword ever forged by Mosuke. ('Harusame') and the first true sword Mosuke had forged for Amidamaru. As a result, Amidamaru refers to Spring Rain as Mosuke's first sword and the Sword of Light as his last when originally the swords were one and the same in the original.
Yoh Asakura then came across this sword, he now uses it in battle with the will of Amidamaru on his side!
Yoh Usually carries Harusame in his hand and he doesn't part from it in battle unless it is forced from him, sometimes he ties it to his waist but that's rarely.
Futsu-no-Mitama no Tsurugi
The Futsu-no-Mitama no Tsurugi is a red knife-shaped rock that has been owned by the Asakura Family ever since the time of Asakura Hao. According to Hao, it was once owned by a sword god.
The Blade is tied to the back of Yoh's waist by it's handle, he can easily grab it and rip it from the rope it is tied to though. Next to the Red Knife is a standard ninja pouch with various ninja tools, like Shuriken, Explosive tags and Flashbombs.
