It seems awfully familiar to what Pein tried. Also, considering the fact that Kisame then absorbed his chakra through the kunai+wires. Seems more like it was chakra running down trying to paralyze and bind his movements. Again, sort of what Pein did.

Several Great Shark bullets (Of different sizes, Mizu Bunshin not being able to use as large as ones) will destabilize the Perfect Susano'o and give Kisame and his water clones a chance to gang up on him
