I just wanted to make a list of some of the Legendary Ninja, and where they ranked on a global "Scale". Please add too it 
NOTE; This isn't based purely on power. Just their Reputation.
Rikudou sennin, for obvious reasons tops the list.
Hashirama Senju & Madara Uchiha grab #2, they were both country busters that induced fear with their names ( Not true for Hashirama, but you know what I mean. ).
Pain. He was feared by all. know pain, feel pain.
Minato. He was called invincible by the raikage, and was referred to in awe by even Hiruzen.
Hiruzen, he had some powerful hype yo.
Hanzo, he was "the most powerful ninja of his time" Soloing Tsunade/Jiraiya/Orochimaru with apparent ease.
The white fang of the leaf, Equal too of more powerful than the Sannin... Feared by all during the war.
The legendary Sannin. The name tells you all you need to know xD.
Uchiha Itachi, he scared the pants off of everyone in Konoha at the time of his slaying the Uchiha clan.
Shisui Uchiha, the "Teleporter". His genjutsu was legendary.
Kakashi hatake, the Copy ninja, the Sharingan warrior. He is pretty famous, being known by even the Kage of other lands.
Seven ninja swordsmen of the mist. Obvious reasons.
Kinkaku & Ginkaku were powerful warriors of their time, but not very "Famous" outside of the leaf/Cloud.
