So I have been pondering this topic for a very, very long time.
In the Bible it states in Deuteronomy 18:10-12 that all forms of hypnotism, even self-hypnotism, all involve the fact that it is "simply casting a spell on someone", or something like that. Despite the fact that the worlds society has become more carefree and relaxed, personally I am stuck between two ideas:
- People hypnotise themselves out of curiosity, desire for something (increase in confidence, etc), relaxation/recreational purposes. Or they can do it to escape temporarily from the stresses of life. Does Christianity prohibit this? Or are we allowed to do this out of wonder and desire?
OR
- It is wrong, and therefore mustn't be influenced by nor follow or practice it in any means possible. Doing such an act will go against our religion, despite the fact that it is something so little. Can it be considered a venial sin? Will it be significant to damage our relationship with God?
As a teenager, I'm curious, tend to overthink things and read a lot. I've also reached that part of my life where I'm starting to question my existence and purpose on this slowly decaying planet.

Please no flaming, I'm just very curious about what other people think and usually I'm not open about these kinds of things. Thanks for your answers!
