Advantages of Method

The advantages of this method are very obvious. It allows you to use an already created water source to shape as you wish and to fit your needs. This also means that techniques as such allow you to manipulate the sources from a distance which provides some safety while the sources can be manipulated in close range from the opponent, cutting heavily on the travel time and adding more to the unpredictability and difficulty to avoid. This basically means that you can create a water source behind the opponent and then manipulate it into attacking him from his blind side. If you pull it quick enough and maybe with a decoy, he might find it hard to realize there's water forming behind him and being manipulated into his own doom.

Disadvantages of Method

The main disadvantage to this method is the fact that these techniques require a water source in order for you to use. Unlike the last method where you are capable of manifesting large masses of water out of nowhere and even creating a water source, these techniques require a medium that is outside your constant realm of access. In battles where you do not have the pre-existing source of water you become incapable of using these techniques or become forced to set yourself up with a technique that provides you a water source.

Of course there is. These methods are very important parts of the water element and they should help you to better understand the techniques and their workings. Since each method/technique is applicable to different scenarios it's important that you are able to recognize them and know when and how to use the correct method/technique. If the opponent is attacking you with earth spikes you can't simply blow out a stronger water bullet and hope that it destroys the spikes. Why? Because the spikes form all around you while the bullet travels just in a straight line depending on where you direct it. These things are very important and I'm trying to make you understand them. So far I'm not happy with your cooperation but I'm not sure anything can change so I'll just keep trying and hoping for the best. There are 2 simultaneous courses, together with you and the other 2 guys are doing amazingly well. Their replies are very detailed and they're showing me that they have full interest and that they are willing to cooperate. This immediately also affects my mood and makes the training more enjoyable for both of us.

Method 4: Alternative Releases (Water/Oil/Syrup)

This method will be easy. Basically these are techniques that create a different substance than the water, however, they still fall within the category of Suiton release. They are liquids that possess different properties than ordinary water, for example: Oil and syrup. Oil is a flammable substance, one wouldn't use this to combat fire but rather fuel it, and with syrup you create a much stickier viscosity of liquid that doesn't necessarily flow as fast as water but it gives a more adhesive property to it.

You know the drill. I'd like to hear your opinion on the advantages and disadvantages these techniques could have.

Advantages to Method

They don’t follow the traditional rules for suiton techniques meaning the techniques have a fairly new set of rules that govern them. This is both an advantage and a disadvantage. It is an advantage as you become capable of using these techniques in situations where you may not normally be able to because of an elemental weakness or some other occurrence.

Disadvantage of Method

As said above, the fact that these techniques don’t follow traditional suiton rules also comes as a disadvantage. Though you may be able to use these techniques in situations where you normally couldn’t at the same time you may become vulnerable in another situation where you weren’t previously with other water techniques. For example; you wouldn’t use an oil rain technique when your opponent is spewing a fire at you. Oil augments fire and even though it’s still “water release” it is a disadvantage.

The last method is called "Other". Basically, everything that isn't possible to be sorted in any of the previous groups falls in here. There's not really much to the method because the techniques vary and so do the advantages and disadvantages.

Now, we can start with the techniques. We'll do it this way. I will post the technique and I will in short explain how to perform it, strong points of the technique, possible uses and anything I find relevant and what I want from you is to give me your opinion on which method it belongs to and why. Then I'd like you to tell me how you could defend against the technique if it was used against you. You are free to use your imagination. This will give me a close insight on your understanding of the technique because if you're able to correctly defend against the technique, it means that you also know how it works. Understood?

(Suiton No Jutsu) - Water technique

Description: Creates small waves of water,small blasts, and small shields of water.
Note: Doesn't require a water source but can be used to manipulate existing water.

The most basic water technique. It allows you to create various objects using your own chakra. They're mostly created from your own body, i.e. hands but you can also manipulate them from an already existing water source. It's an interesting technique because it can be used for all types and it is mid range thus it can be very helpful. However, due to it being so weak you will hardly have the chance to use it. Imagine that I release a small wave of water at you, how would you defend against it?

Katon? Fire is weak against water, so how would the fire extinguish the water? And why would you run away when there are much much better ways to defend. Water is weak against earth. I'm glad you're thinking that way. I'm really trying to bring the water closer to you but I also need you to accept my notion and to cooperate with me. I know it may be hard but consider this as a homework. When we cover a technique and I ask questions try to put some more effort into it and think of it as a test of sorts. The better you write the better your score will be and the more satisfied both of us will be, too.

(Kirigakure No Jutsu) - Hidding in Mist Jutsu

Description: This displacement technique creates a thick mist to spring forth by lifting up some water from either a pre-existing source or expelled from their mouth, then goes in and out of sight at will from within the pearly-white realm. The mist's thickness is controlled by the amount of chakra kneaded into it. It can't fool the Byakugan, but, due to the mist being created with the user's chakra, any Sharingan and Rinnegan-user will see the mist coloured by their opponent's chakra, which will effectively hide the user from the dōjutsu.
Note: Can be created through releasing from mouth or manipulating a nearby water source.

I'm sure you already saw this jutsu. It's a very nice jutsu and I love using it, however you have to be cautious. To perform the technique you release the mist from your mouth or you can once again perform it from a water source. The mist is thick enough to block both your and your opponents vision so you have to be careful and have another sense to rely on. It's very useful against sharingan and rinnegan because they can't distinguish your chakra but once again, if you can't see them you gain nothing from it. It's very good for setting up large scale attacks as well as swift assassinations.

Counter:
The mist produced by this technique can be countered by a Powerful wind technique
By using a powerful wind jutsu there is also a possibility that the opponent will be damaged in that attack.
Performance:
I concentrate my Suiton chakra in my lungs. While releasing the suiton chakra I nature manipulate it to convert it into a thick mist which i blow at sensei. I also perform this technique by using a available water source,i walk to the lake and pass my chakra into it then i manipulate it to form thick mist which blows towards your direction.
Usage:
Very useful technique if the user has other ability like sensing and enhanced hearing or smelling. Because this technique not only affects the opponents vision but also it affects the user's vision too. It cannot escape Byakugan but it can fool Sharingan and rinnegan as the mist is formed by the users own chakra. It can be greatly used in combo with large area affecting water jutsus or wind jutsu which blow away the mist and the target. because the user first performs the kirigakure no jutsu and affects the sight of the opponent. then they use a high AoA long range water jutsu or wind jutsu so that the opponent cannot see it comming and the reaction time of the opponent will be reduced.

Okay, it's water manipulation and more projectile than stream. Just because it's released from the mouth doesn't make it a stream. The most important part of streams is that you can't perform other techniques while you're performing a stream, and the whole purpose of the hiding mist is that you use it just as a cover in order to attack the opponent from that cover.

Yes, wind is the number one defense against this jutsu because it also allows you to attack the opponent even if you don't see him. All you need is a wide wind technique and you're safe. Overall, good job.

Description: A technique that utilizes water to create a sword. The sword can be wielded in the normal fashion, allowing the ninja to cut and stab like with a normal blade.
Note: Doesn't require a water source.

As mentioned already, this technique doesn't require a water source, which means that you create it using your own chakra. You expel it through your chakra points in your hand and you shape manipulate it into a sword. The sword it more or less like any other blade but it's made of water. Once you form the sword you compress it, etc to make it solid and have all the other properties of a regular sword. What's interesting with this technique is that it can be a life saver in close battles or if the opponent knocks the real weapon out of your hand. It's fairly easy to create and you could even make it as an extension of your arm in case the opponent tries to avoid your initial punch. This would give you some extra distance and be like a follow up attack.
