For sometime now I wanted to write a story, and Christmas break is around the corner so I finally decided to do it.

There is only one thing I'm worried about, the dialogue. I could really use some tips on how to write decent dialogue, what's the best way to make it natural and have a nice flow to it ?

By the way, I'm not talking about fanfiction, I want to create something original.

So I can't really study on how certain characters already interact with each other.

I'm perfectly fine writing a monologue by imagining I'm in his/her shoes, it's when I have to imagine I'm two people at the same time when the problem arises XD

Just talk normally, man. Nothing too refined, just basic English (unless that's the kind of character they are). And also, keep your characters' personalities in mind. Don't make them say things they normally wouldn't say in whatever situation they're in.
