Or it means madara just absorbed a fraction of hashirama's chakra

no. you're wrong. fighting kurama directly is a lot easier than fighting someone who is the jinchuuriki of kurama with full control like naruto. in one of the chapters, he mentions "everyone's got the chakra comparable to mine.looks like he is sharing his chakra. no. it's kyuubi's chakra!"
