What..Rinnegan abilties w/o Rinnegan?

I'm browsing through threads, and I see some people saying that Madara is still using Rinnegan abilities such as Preta path. How can that be possible if he doesn't have any eyes...? You need the Rinnegan to use Rinnegan abilities, unless I'm missing something...

He's most likely absorbing chakra through a method that hasn't been explained yet. It seems as though this method requires an injury to absorb chakra/heal. We see him bite his wrist before he absorbs Hashirama's senjutsu, and we see him absorb the kyubi cloak of that random ninja to heal the wound he got from Sasuke. And If he could use Rinnegan abilities, he should have ripped out Hashirama's soul as well since he already achieved his goal of stealing his senjutsu.

That's funny because Yoroi Akado means "red body armor" according to the trivia. And Madara wore red body armor...anyways I guess you're right but Madara never had this ability before...

His senju body obviously. Just like how zetsu can absorb it, but his is on a higher level plus he has Mokuton Senpou

I want to say it's from the senju DNA as well but...neither Zetsu or Hashirama needed to be inflicted damage to absorb/steal chakra from their opponents. Maybe I'm just over-thinking.

I don't think you necessarily need Rinnegan to activate the rods, just to create them. To make them work you just need to put chakra into them to disrupt the opponents flow.
