The smudge is nice. Could be better, but it's a nice start.
Check Deviantart for some smudge tag tuts, there's a lot of HQ ones on there, some of them are insanely awesome, but also incredibly difficult to mimic, especially if you don't have a tablet. ,_,

Your smudging has a lot of potential though. The render is just too small on that canvas in my opinion.
