I got a few series on hold as I try to finish up Yu Yu Hakusho, but I just wanna make sure of what I'm getting myself into first, basically:) lol Hopefully, you guys know a bit about them and can tell me if it's worth going through with watching 'em.

Note: This isn't a suggestion thread. I just wanna know about these four shows.

*Poll is multiple choice. Just choose the ones you think I should watch.

Umm not a fan of any of this , but from what I've seen in NB you should see Log Horizon & Hajime no Ippo.

The former's my main concern, just cause the gaming genre hasn't really piqued my curiosity. As for Ippo, I'm just wondering whether or not I'm obliged to watch it cause it's good, or cause it's a classic.*

*By that, I mean like choosing between Godfather or The Departed. First is a classic gangster film, but I enjoy watching Departed more, even though it's a critically inferior movie

I wouldn't watch Log Horizon, it was extremely boring and they don't even die in the game. They just respawn in the Church if something happens which kills the whole fear of being trapped in a game. Also the same jokes keep being repeated constantly, it was annoying.

The concept has been done better by other anime in my opinion.

I'm just gonna be explaining the anime(s) that I think are worth watching.

Shakugan No Shana - it's about a guy who is a ''torch'', replacement for an already dead person to fill out their existence who finds out at the very first episode after being informed by a mysterious girl named Shana that he's not the real guy because the actual guy died a long time ago. but this guy is actually not an ordinary torch because his a mistess of the reiji maigo a treasure that replenishes onces existence every midnight or something like that. so then he fights and blah blah blah.

Hajime No Ippo - it's a about a guy named Ippo who is constantly being bullied by some of the upperclassmen in his school. well, one day when he was being bullied a mysterious guy named Takamura kicked the bullies asses and invited Ippo in their Kamogawa Boxing Gym. So then Ippo from then on decides that he'll become a boxer.

Higurashi - A suspense/ horror anime it's about a guy who moves in to a rural town only to discover later that a gruesome murder took place in that particular area years ago and that one person involved in that murder is still at large.

LOL I rushed it.

I figured it would end up being disappointing. I only got intrigued by it cause I heard its kickass OP.

Oh, I already checked out their synopsis's and whatnot, man. I just need to know if they actually managed to do something good with 'em, cause any anime plot can be good if done right.

Shana's dope, and it's finished too. It's got 3 seasons that're 20+ episodes, doe.

I only watched Log Horizon and Higurashi so I can only talk about those. LH isn't the best but it is still OK. Higurashi on the other hand is one of my favorite anime I've watched. You really should watch it!

Yeah, I'm definitely pickin' up Shana and Higurashi. I went ahead and dropped Log Horizon from my plans, though.

Anyone got more to say about Ippo before I make my decision on that?

Hajime no ippo is one of the best sports anime in my opinion, the characters are really likeable and the growth of Ippo as a person is just a pleasure to watch and it has some excellent fights. Shakugan no Shana, although good, is nothing too special and degraded in quality after each season. Higurashi was also good, although creepy but that's the point and it had really good character development. Log Horizon is also alright, similar setting and atmosphere to SAO although not as rushed so if you liked that you might like it but I certainly didn't enjoy either.
