As we've already seen, Madara had completely dominated Hashirama, Naruto, Sasuke and Sai (i think) and also had tanked Amaterasu and had done this with eyes closed.
He was also able to dictate Sasuke's sudden movement and the direction of his sword with his eyes closed.
And probably the most famous panel of this chapter:
So it's safe to assume that: Current Alive Madara > Edo Hashirama > Current Edo Madara > Hashirama > EMS Madara
Now for the second part.
In the last couple of the Manga chapters we saw that Madara cornered a few times; he was cornered once by Kage's and also by Hashirama via gates:
In the page above, we can see that Madara was incapable of escaping the gates stacked above him, but as soon as the Rinne Tensei was used by Obito/Zetsu, Madara effortlessly destroyed the gates and the sealing Tiger in process.
I think this was already stated by Tim or Klad, but i do too agree that he his body was trapped at full power, thus disabling or in someway disallowing him to have power on how strong his expelled Jutsu's are. Now that he's alive, he has full control of how the ratio he puts into his Jutsu's.

I'm going to re-post this:
Madara wasn't blind, he had his eyes closed. It wasn't also called "stealing" as it was research done by him and approved by some of his peers, so he certainly deserved it.
He's saw himself and realized his power and what he was missing - senju dna. Senju and Uchiha need each others to complete each other, in terms of power. For instance, Hashirama with EMS would certainly be stronger than his current self. Hashirama was a fool for not realizing this, and that's why it's fair to say Madara outsmarted. In fact, Madara has showed more intelligence that Hashirama. This can be mirrored with Sasuke and Naruto, Sasuke being the smarter one.

But he certainly did bring a new meaning to Taijutsu, fending off Sasuke, Naruto, Sai and Hashirama with his eyes closed.
Also, you cannot deny his precision and sensory skills, even though he isn't known to be a sensor. The way he immobilized Hashirama with eyes closed, the way he threw the others off their feet, with eyes closed, the way he had intercepted and counted Sasuke's blade, with eyes closed, AND the way he timed his fireball Jutsu perfectly, with eyes closed, just goes to show why he's God.
